Chapter 133 - LEAVE

Achis thinks that the first declaration Tala stated was true. He had the most revenue in this bargain. Killing Datu Pita and con-joining the two banwas'. It was a feat for his career as the Datu. Especially Datu Pita, a legend when it comes to pangangaway. If he conquered Datu Pita's territory, he would become known as well, conquering the conqueror. It's like hitting two birds with one stone. His long-time goal that could be attained if he would try to do so hard has been spoon-fed to him at this offer.

However, what he desired was not power or land. She was wrong about the latter assertion. "Let me think about your proposition, but I can't guarantee on joining your force," Achis replied nonchalantly and turned his back to her.

Tala was stunned with his response, "What is there to think about? Datu Achis, this is a lifetime opportunity. Are you just going to waste it?"

Achis halted his step if it happened. If he killed Datu Pita, the father who took care of Yanarym from the day she was not even born. If Yanarym knew that he caused Baba's death, she would loathe him. In addition, he doesn't want to start a war, he would like to settle down with her, live quietly and peacefully.

His dream was no longer to become like any other mangangaway, raiding banwas' after banwas', killing lives, and such cruelty. All he wanted now was a family with Yanarym. He would be content with that.

"Let me think about it." He said again and left her alone.

Yanarym had cleared her head from the lust surging her body and looked at Maki who was hugging her after the steamy session together.

"How did you know it's me?" She asked him after the long silent reign between them. Maki stared at her eyes and leaned over to kiss her lips.

"It was accidental," he answered and rested his forehead on her forehead. "I heard your voice."

Yanarym silenced, honestly speaking, she already knew that he was aware of who she was, she had mentioned it before. However, she was surprised that after waiting for him to approach her. She was wrecked by his idea of confronting her, literally.

Waking up from her slumber with Coy being bulldozed by his buddy, she was bewildered when he intruded on her. Her Coy was so used to Achis that when it was someone else, her Coy stretched out of pain.

"Let's go home to your balay after this. Your Baba is sick, he's been in that state after your death."

"My death?" She asked curiously, feigning ignorance.

"Yes, did you not know that someone faked your death?"

"...who would do that?"

"Probably the man you were with for the time you went missing." Maki sharpened his eyes thinking about Achis taking captive his Bai.

"B-but Maki, I can't leave."

"What do you mean you can't leave?"

"I-it's hard to explain, but I had an agreement with Achis. He saved my life."

"What's hard to explain? Why can't you leave him? Yanar---Bai, if you are thinking about what happened to us, I promise to take responsibility. I will marry you."

"That's not Maki. I was also touched by Achis. I am not clean anymore."

"It doesn't matter to me!" Maki growled and held her hand. "You are what matters the most."

You don't understand! Yanarym cried in her head. Her sword training with Achis was almost done. If she left him now, the time would stall again.

"Maki please, trust me on this, I will come back home but for now I can't." Yanarym pleads to him, caressing his cheeks.

"Why can't you?" Maki aggrieved.

He had finally seen her again, but she can't be by his side? She had to stay at the man's turf? Why? He pulled her closer to his body and buried his face on her chest.

"I miss you so bad, I am jealous like crazy. Just thinking --- thinking that the whole time I was mourning for you, you were with someone else. Bai, I am willing to forget everything from the past. Let's start over, okay? Come back home with me, Yanar."

"I can't, you have to understand."

"Why? Did you fall in love with him?! Why can't you leave him?! Why did you choose him? How about me? Was that night when we made love a lie?" He yelled at her, Yanarym pressed her lips into a thin line.

"Maki, the night I gave you myself was because I know you will kill me." Maki had his mind blackout.

"W-what?" He stammered as his eyes staggered. She averted her eyes somewhere else.

"I know your plan. I know you are one of Tala's people. You wanted to kill me, I had no way to escape. I can't fight you so I seduced you." She mumbled and every word stabbed his heart.

He didn't know what hurt him the most. The fact that she did lie to him or the fact that she knew his real motive that night. He could feel his heart tightening just thinking that she was not really in love with him.

"Then, is everything that happened to us… a lie?" He muttered slowly, looking stupefied, staring at her face. He sits up on the bed and brings a distance from their bodies.

"Maki--" she called him but Maki made a firm stance.

"Is it a lie?" He said, underlining every word of the question. Yanarym had expected this reaction from him, stared at his agonizing expression. "Tell me, Bai, is it a lie?!"

"How can it be a lie? I liked it! I was satisfied that night! However, you can't be mad at me Maki! You were the one who lied to me! How come you are the angry one? You tried to kill me!" She screamed back at him.. Maki gulped at her eyes which started to look at him with an unpaintable stare, she's aggrieved.
