Chapter 120 - DANCE

"Can you do ritual dancing?" Achis whispered to her as Tala started to dance magnificently, almost every eye was on her as her swords danced with her body. Achis took this chance to talk to Yanarym, he was worried.

"Of course not, have you seen me do pag-aanitu before?" She scowled at him. Despite thinking of Achis only as her benefactor, she still considers him as someone close to her. And she was highly impressed by his ideals and way of governing. She won't let this event lose his credentials in front of these chiefs.

"Then, why did you stop me from excusing you?"

"And what? Do you want to disrespect the Rajah and Hara? Are you stupid?" She hissed on him, Achis paused and thought she was right. However, did she just call him stupid?

"It's better than embarrassing yourself."

"Hey, don't you trust me? Trust me on this."

"Are you sure? We can just say you had a bad stomach and rest in your room."

"That's too late for now. Let me fix this for you." Yanarym was about to stand up but Achis did not let her go.

"Where are you going?"

"I need to talk to the musicians." She exclaimed and removed their hands together.

"Oh, and tell them when I am already in the center that this is the ritual dance of my own tribe." Since everyone was busy watching Tala, they did not notice Yanarym's movement.

However, there were two other men watching her intently.

Yanarym talked to the man who was doing the drumming. It's not a drum from her time but it could still be useful for the beat. She might not know anything about ritual dancing but she is a 21st millennial. In her world, she had what they call K-POP.

Beneath her overall clothing, she was also wearing the pants she sewed on her own. Removing her long skirt, she was like a ninja, she wanted to laugh at her fashion sense.

As Tala was ending her sword dancing, Yanarym had finished talking to the musicians about the beat she wanted. She coughed to clear her voice, the Rajah praised Tala, and Tala accepted the Rajah gift of jewelry to return her blessing.

"Rym?" As everything was done, Yanarym walked into the middle of the room where the wide space was given for her as her platform.

"My bride said that this is their ritual dance of her origin."

"Does your future wife can't speak Datu Achis?" The Rajah asked out of curiosity.

"She can't talk to anyone but her betrothed, that's also their custom." Hara Kaliyah replied.

"Oh, her religion has a lot of rules." The Rajah nods. "Alright young lady, you can start now."

Yanarym signals the musicians and they start playing the beat. It was a fast beat, since the beat of the original song and to this era was par Yanarym had played the music on her mind.

Yanarym back in her past life had been inclined in many many things. She has changed her hobby from one to another every time. When she was a student, she had done a lot of extracurricular activities for additional grades.

One of those hobbies was dancing. She had danced to a stage where thousands of eyes were watching her. So, dancing in this room gives her no pressure at all. She actually had a reminiscence of her past life, when she was in high school.

It's not boring, but she was not living as she wanted to. She pushed herself to the limit, doing things for recognition of people that could never be satisfied with her. It was a disappointing chapter of her life. Studying so hard, interacting with everyone, staying up so late to fulfill the part of a role model student, playing the perfect goody daughter, doing the chores of a great sister. That was so tiring, pretending, playing the role. She could play as the perfect girl until the end, if only she hadn't thought it was a useless striving for something that was not worthy.

Despite her sacrifices, despite all of the things she had done correctly. If she did one, just one single mistake, all of her hard work was buried to forget.

But she was not hurt by it, it was a good experience as she looked back. Doing things that she was required to do. If she had no tasks to accomplish, and there was no need for it. She would just be idle and watch the sideline. She hates getting the spotlight, the attention is the last thing she wants. It's pleasing, yes, getting noticed and appreciated… It's delightful, yet it was debilitating as well, she was too negligent for it.

Yanarym dances along with the lyrics she was singing in her head. No one had seen this type of dancing before but the way she moves her body, every heavy strike, and complicated footsteps, the way she skips her feet and glides to one place and another. As her body sways along with her hand's punches, swiss, and circle in the air.

It was such dominating and fierce dancing. Was more powerful than the sword dancing of Tala. Even her pace was so fast and when she did the slow-mo part, some of them couldn't help but get amazed, had their lips parted, and subconsciously clapped their hands when she had stopped moving when the beat stopped too.

"What kind of dancing is that? It's so alive and beautiful!" Hara exclaimed as she was the one who first recovered from admiring Yanarym's presentation.

Yanarym signaled Achis to come near her as she was catching her breath. Achis stood up, still looking amused. He looks cute when he's adoring eyes peering at her like he was a proud husband who had seen his wife do an outrageous yet incredible thing.

"Tell them the dance means for the Rajah's heroic voyage along with Datu Pita." She whispered to Achis.. "Do it and everything will be alright."
