Chapter 101 - SURRENDER

Pita always finds it funny if the person who was about to get killed by his kampilan can only shoot him with death glares.

In that scenario, he was always, always the one in power. The ones who would beg for their lives are those who glared at him like this one woman was doing. So, why? Why was he petrified on the spot? Why was he disheartening? Why can't he lift his arms and slay this one woman shaking in front of him? She was the one who's scared then why was he the one who was contemplating?

"Pita! You bastard! I will kill you!" She screamed upon seeing the root of the cause of everything that was happening. Many of them had already fallen, the rest were injured, she was the last one standing.

She was mortified, she was terrified, she was agonizing, and she was furious. They have fallen, who would protect the children and the elders? Women would become slaves of these brutes. She had never doubted her dreams before, but now, she swung the blade to him with all of her strength.

Pita countered her attack so easily. She was overthrown to the sand. The overwhelming power of the young man made her hands bruised and bled. The grip of her grasp of the sword loosened, she couldn't lift it anymore.

Hopeless, tears built up from her eyes. She didn't want to lose. She wanted to protect everyone but she's weak. She looked up to the young man who had a distorted expression gaping at her. It was not pity or mocking, it seems like he was confused about what was going on.

Ara had no luxury to think about his welfare if she was the one who was on the ground and was being suppressed by his sword. The thought of begging mercy to him just for him to spare everyone's life struck her; however, she knew very well he would not grant her wish.

"You..." Young Pita held his breath as he peered at the woman on the ground, his emotions surging inside of him. When she attacked him he almost let her kill him, if he was a second late.

Ara kept on glaring at him but he saw that she was already at her limit. Even her hands were bleeding.

He gulped, he then struck his sword to the sand and walked up to her without any weapons in his hand. The people that were watching him were stunned, he had not even once let go of his kampilan on the battleground, even for a toddler.

Pita was even more bewildered by his action. But he was worried, his heart was being gripped by an unknown force and his body was sputtering out of uneasiness. He didn't want to hurt this woman...

"Woman, does it hurt?" He reached out for her hands but she immediately moved away avoiding him.

"What are you trying to do? Don't touch me! I'd rather die now than be defiled by any of you!" She blurted out, forcing her hand to grip the sword and place it on her neck.

"No!" Young Pita refuted and stepped back on his own. "No, not fighting. I will not fight you. Put that down!" He ordered her in panic, Ara dressed her brows looking at Pita who was acting weirdly.

"Why do I have to take orders from you?!"

"I-it's not! It's not an order, please-- take that away. You can't play with blades, you might get hurt." Ara and everyone else who was listening to his rhetoric were stupefied.

She pressed her lips, not willing to be fooled by one of his persuasive performances. She tightened up the grip on her sword. The pain from her palm was almost numb and the cut that was made to her neck by her sudden movements alarmed the young Pita.

"Surrender. I surrender! I forfeit! We lose! So, put that fucking sword away from your neck!" He thundered unconsciously, fearing that it would cause her further injuries he flashed to her front and stole the blade away.

"DID YOU NOT HEAR ME?! I SAID WE SURRENDER!" He screamed at his warriors who were still dumbfounded and couldn't follow what was happening. However, young Pita's words were always absolute. One by one they started to throw away their weapons.

Young Basi who was watching at the sideline was amazed at this turn out of events. He and the warrior's Pita are ruling and conclude that Pita had fallen in love.

The greatest conqueror who had ever lived in this era was not Pita. But the woman who had conquered his heart. They thought it would be impossible yet, here they were.

That was the tale of Datu Pita and his wife, Ara. The island that they were living on presently was Ara's banwa and it became Datu Pita's land when he married Ara. He gave her everything, he even lost his ambitions of life when he was younger. Instead of power and treasures, he chooses her and resides at this banwa ruling quietly. He had drastic changes. Even more, when Ara was pregnant with his child. For that, he gave his shares of conquering the lands that they had gone to, to young Basi. Then, the young Basi became the Rajah instead of him.

He had no regrets. However, a catastrophic event occurred when one of Ara's slaves proclaimed that Datu Pita had a daughter with her. In reality, he was the one who ordered someone to kill the slave with her daughter but Ara intercepted saying that the mistake was done and killed their life by committing another mistake. The Datu who always listens to his wife did not try to kill them anymore. Despite that, he did not treat them as a family at all.

He's cruel to the slave and was good to his wife.. The treatment was overly different but it was justified, he doesn't love the other woman.
