Chapter 96 - GINOO

Lapil was a prominent ruthless and indifferent individual. Once he was on the battlefield, whether it was a woman, a child, or an elder, he would not spare their lives. He had slain thousands using his kampilan with no remorse. He had even been titled the death god due to his heartless way of killing people.

His perspective, perception, and abstruse way of ruling his warriors have given them an undefeated entitlement in terms of raiding someone else territory. At his age, he even surpassed his father, Rajah Basi. But because he inherited his mother's docile and ardent countenance, it's no wonder he has an angelic feature himself.

"I pity Bai Yanar," Famir mumbled to his breath but was heard by the rest. They agreed again in a silent manner. "But maybe Ginoo, if you have seen Bai, you will fall for her." He added, smiling.

"Right, what if the Bai will change you Ginoo?!" Tatop eyes widened as he concluded. His mouth formed an 'o' shape.

Wakan clapped his hands exclaiming, "That's what I was thinking too!"

"Isn't that romantic?" The other one added, half daydreaming half awake.

"That is what I am talking about! Our ginoo falling in love?" Famir blurted out.

"I can't imagine! Hahaha!" Tatop shook his head playing the image on his head.

"It's possible! His changes are possible! Love changes people's lives!" Wakan retorted, pointing to himself, indicating that he was the living example of his statement.

"What's there to change? What is wrong with me?" Lapil uttered softly that the whole gang who was having their great time started to pipe down.

"Besides, love can't exist. Baba and Iloy married each other to strengthen their power. It was purely a mutual gain to one another. Datu Pita has loved his wife and vow to not have any other woman yet, he had another daughter from someone else." He told them in a wry manner without even changing his docile smile.

"And Wakan, your wife was forced to marry you." He added that it completely killed the atmosphere. Being used to his personality Wakan did not take it as a veracity remark, it's the truth anyway. None of his statements were false so they are unable to be refuted.

"Also, a person will never change. You have to keep in your mind that whoever it may be, they are always the same. It's just that they had learned how to conceal their genuine self. That's what you call adaptation to survive." Finishing his speech with a reminder, the people on the baroto did not utter a word again.

Silently, they all prayed from the bottom of their heart that this young man who they follow will change once he falls in love. Because, although he seems right, it feels wrong that he thinks like this.

Datu Pita along with his people were waiting at the shore for the arrival of the son of his blood-oath brother, Lapil. As soon as they reached the shore, Datu walked hurriedly to Lapil and greeted him anxiously.

"Lapil, I'm glad you came. How long has it been?" Datu Pita said Lapil looked at the heroic Datu he idolized from childhood, he could notice at a glance that the Datu was dead-tired and worried for her daughter's welfare. He politely nodded and smiled at him.

"No need for formalities Datu Pita. I am here to assist you to look for your daughter." Datu Pita sighed heavily and pat Lapil's shoulder.

"You are the one who shouldn't be formal. How many times have I told you? You are Yanar's future Bana, you can call me Baba." The Datu muttered helplessly.

"I am not just used to that Datu Pita." Lapil refuted in a soft tone, "Regardless, let us hear about the situation first." Changing the subject seems to be more aggrieved.

"Yanar sneaked out to fetch me back home at Datu Achis banquet. She does that regularly whenever I go to the neighboring banwa. However, that night, she disappeared.".

"What do you mean she disappeared Datu?"

"It was almost dawn when the celebration ended, despite that, she never came to see me. Yet, one of my people saw her around the vicinity."

"She arrived, but have gone missing before you could meet each other? Have you inquired about Datu Achis?"

"As for now, no. You know how serious it would be once a binukot was announced missing." He replied problematically.

Lapil nods indicating how he understands the dire situation of Datu's most treasured person as he had passed away.

"How long has it been since the night she went missing Datu?" He proceeds to inquire for more clues that could help them find the Bai.

"It's been five days," Achis mumbled to himself as he watched the young lady do the hand techniques using the dagger he gave last time.

It's been five days since he had decided to take care of this Bai. She's been his dilemma at the same time as his entertainment for a short period of time. The longer time he spends with her, the more astonished he is. She was nothing similar to those women he met, she was different and unpredictable. She's exciting and beautiful. Speaking of beauty, each day he sees her, the more beautiful she becomes. He was never informed that the women's appearance was this pleasing to the eyes.

"That's not it, if you do it like that, how many times should I repeat it? You will be killed." He intercepted after he saw her do the wrong move. He stopped leaning at the tree beside him and paced to her location.

Yanarym halted swinging the dagger in the air. She catches her breath upon waiting for Achis. Learning dagger for her was fun, she enjoyed every session that she spent on yielding this small blade.

In addition to that, Achis was a great teacher.. He had a very lucid way of coaching, the epitome of being a patient and intellectual guru.
