Chapter 103 - Return Of The Symbols.

Isaac and Darth were led to the room with a portal. The room was on the second floor, and it was the most heavily guarded room by far.

They had to prove their identity first before being able to enter that room. Apparently, the residents in Moon City aren't allowed to go to the portal because they will get wiped out from existence just from touching it.

Proving their identity was easy and quick.

They had scanning devices, which let the machine tell how long that person has spent time in Moon City and if he was born there.

The scanner showed mere 3 hours and that they weren't a resident of Moon City, but there was also the fact that multiple cameras captured them entering the Moon City through the gate.

A professional-looking man stopped in front of the room and whispered a few words towards the Guards, who simply nodded and opened the door.

Isaac and Darth entered the room behind the man and saw a door on the other side of the room.

The man stopped in front of the door with a slightly pale face. He took a silver-colored key from his pocket and put it on the keyhole.

He twisted it and opened it wide open, and instantly took the key from the keyhole.

Once the door was opened, a purple portal came visible with spiraling symbols on the surface.

The man gulped while his body was only a meter away from touching it and turning into ashes. He stepped aside and politely smiled towards Isaac and Darth.

''I hope your visit to Moon City was enjoyable; you are always welcomed to come back.''

Darth was the first one to enter the portal. His body disappeared from the Moon City and was sucked inside the teleportation cycle.

Isaac looked at the portal and took a decisive step forwards, and got submerged inside the portal.

His white hair gently fluttered alongside the sudden burst of wind, and it didn't take long for his body to disappear as well.

The man quickly closed the door and locked it tightly. He wiped his sweat and felt his legs going weak.

He could still hear the swooshing sound of the portal. He is new on this job, and he has heard terrifying rumors about the portal, and seeing two young individuals entering it almost made him faint.

There are rumors that the other side of the portal is where people like them live, but they are enslaved by Evil Gods.

He made a quick praying gesture and wished, ''May those rumors be false.'' He turned around and left the room with quick steps.

...

*SWOOSH*

Two figures appeared out of nowhere and landed on the hard rocky ground.

''Ouch.'' Darth rubbed his painful spots and stood up with a pained look.

Isaac used his hands to pull himself up and patted the dust off his clothes.

Darth looked around him, wondering where they were, but then his face was morphed into annoyance.

''Are you kidding me?'' He put his hand on his waist and looked at the symbols in front of him with annoyance.

Isaac turned his body around and sighed after seeing the symbols.

There were only four paths in front of them, the symbols were very familiar, but it was much more detailed.

The first path had a figure of a man who seemed to search for something. His face seemed to be morphed into confusion as he was scratching his head with frustration.

The second path had a figure of a woman who was using her hands as a telescope. There was a large forest some distance away from her and a few birds flying in the bright sky.

The third path had a figure of a child who was hiding underneath a table, while another child walked past the table and was trying to find someone or something. The child who was hiding had a fear-filled face and was keeping her mouth shut by using her hands.

The fourth path had a figure of a man who was throwing a ball-like item. There was another figure, who had features of a female with concentrated expression; she was ready to catch the ball, and failure didn't seem to be an opinion.

''It seems the path we took is gone.'' Isaac said and looked at the symbols, ''The symbols are also more detailed.''

''We need to hurry; we wasted so much time.'' Darth said urgently and took quick glances at the path, and pointed at the second one, ''Let's just take the second path; it seems to be the simplest one. Hide and seek, how hard can it be?''

Isaac nodded, ''Fine, let's hurry.'' Without thinking even a second longer, the Duo entered the second path and started running like their lives depended on it.

While running, Darth looked at the chats to see if there were any announcements about someone completing the Dungeon yet, but luckily there weren't.

It didn't make Darth any relaxed, instead became more urgent to quickly complete the next test.

Darth's face was drenched in sweat, and it was becoming harder for him to follow behind Isaac, who didn't seem to get tired. He took two long breaths and made a final sprint, barely managing to keep up with him.

When his final sprint was about to end, a dim light appeared at the end of the corridor. Darth's sweaty face started having a small smile as he uttered the rest of his stamina to reach their destination.

Isaac had a few sweatdrops appearing on his delicate forehead, but they managed to reach the end of the corridor before he was getting too exhausted.

After leaving the corridor, Darth slumped down on the ground with his whole body drenched in sweat.

He tried to catch his breathing, but his heart was racing like never before, and he felt like he had run a marathon.

Isaac was still standing, but even he was catching his breath. He was also looking around the room, and a frown appeared on his face.

''Did we go through another portal?'' He said aloud while looking at the scene in front of him.

A dark sky without any stars was on top of them and a large building not far from them.

Isaac looked around him and saw him standing in a parking lot with dozen destroyed cars. He turned his head back towards the building and his brows furrowed into confusion.

There was a large symbol on the top of the building. It was a red cross, which was only an inch away from falling down, it was barely hanging, and even one push would make it fall.

''Hospital....''
