265 So He Wasn't Lying That Night?

Seeing that arrogant look on his face, Wei Xin felt her anger boiling but she immediately took a few breaths and calmed herself down; reminding herself that his reaction didn't really matter. What really mattered right now was Wu Zihao and Song Jia's opinion, hence her gaze immediately shifted in Song Jia's direction first.

Song Jia had a frown on her forehead and her eyes were squinted: her reaction clearly stated that she didn't expect this coming. However, she trusted Wu Zihao's capabilities to locate Wu Zhang, but to find out that he had in return misplaced his trust in the wrong person. she was was not sure if that could really happen and she didn't want to come to any conclusion without clarifying things with him first. After all, who was Wu Zihao? He was the second young master of the Wu family and no matter how chirpy he looked from the outside, he was a cunning fox underneath that skin, and fooling him was no child play.

As if reading her mind, Wei Xin turned to ask Wu Zihao, what he wanted to do now, but her question got stuck in her throat when she saw that unamused expression on his face, which made her frown immediately.

Sensing their question, Wu Zihao crossed his arms as he leaned back against the sofa and threw a question at Wei Xin. "And is this why you think he is a fraud or is there anything else too?"

"Unsure of where this discussion was going Wei Xin replied, but given to Wu Zihao's nonchalant expression, with much less confidence this time. "That is... all?"

Wu Zihao swept a glance at Fredrick and then in a clear voice said, "I know of this already."

Wei Xin looked baffled with that response and opened her mouth to ask, "You knew?! And you still want to entrust him with this task?"

"Yes." His decision was firm.

"But why?" She demanded an answer.

"Because everything that you told just now is sure true, but your impression of him is wrong. You have assumed what would have happened between him and Fei Yan, but you don't know what actually happened." Wu Zihao made sure to put an extra emphasis on the last sentence. "You don't know the real story Wei Xin."

Wei Xin looked at Fredrick for a brief moment and then turned to Wu Zihao again. "What story?"

"That is not my place to tell, I am not at liberty to talk about someone else's personal life. You should ask him if you want to know." He pointed his head in Fredrick's direction.

'This is not a story.' She never believed those words to be true.

'If one day you ever think you can believe me, then come to me and maybe I will tell you.' As she recalled those words, a feeling of disbelief aroused inside her with a question that she never thought she would ask herself— so he wasn't lying that night?

With her lips slightly ajar, Wei Xin's eyes involuntarily shifted to Fredrcik who also happened to be staring at her. with an eyebrow raised, trying to satiate his curiosity about what reaction she would give. Wei Xin could see no expression whatsoever on his poker face, but he could clearly identify that expression of disbelief written in bold all over hers. Only a few seconds had barely passed when he tore his gaze away and said, "So Wu Zihao, why did you come looking for me with your squad?"

Seeing that Wei Xin was not protesting anymore and had gone to sit on the sofa next to Song Jia, Wu Zihao said, "I need you to look for my brother..." with that he explained everything he found out from Song Jia and his own people to Fredrick.

"So what are your orders for me?"

"We have no idea what happened or where the car went after they left the Wu Corporation's subsidiary building that day. No CCTV has any recording of that time frame. I doubt that the CCTV's have been hampered with and I want you to hack all the CCTV's on the way from Wu Corporations to the airport. I am hopeful that we may find something."

Fredrick raised an eyebrow and asked, "You do realize you are asking me to hack into the government security system, right?"

"Like you haven't done it before." Wu Zihao gave a nonchalant reply.

Wei Xin who was listening to everything was dumbfounded: This man could hack into the government's system too? Just who exactly is this guy?

"So why don't I just hack the recordings of the place where Li Jing was found? It will save us a lot of time." Fredrick suggested.

"It was a very remote area, near the jungles. And there are no public CCTV's there. And their car is also missing."

"But are you sure he can do this?" She asked Wu Zihao skeptically who just nodded in response.

Everyone's eyes were now fixed on Fredrick, waiting for his response who looked in some deep thought.

"Say something." Song Jia who was getting impatient pressed him for an answer although she didn't really have much hope in this method but they also didn't have the liberty of choice either: right now time was of the essence.

"It can be done, not an issue," Fredrick replied after a while. "Get me a topographical map of the city and a place with a good internet connection."
