Chapter 231 - Treat For Weekend

Outside Of Jade's House.

Jade and Jake were both seated in the car, no one was saying anything to each other. They were simply enjoying each other's company, each with their own thoughts to themselves.

After a while, Jake broke the silence. "Babe I'm not really sure I can stay all week without seeing you" He turned to look at her.

Jade looked at him too, her eyes were sad but she was trying not to show it. "I don't want it too, but –"

"Then don't. I can always pick you up from work and we can have dinner together, then I'll bring you home"

"But you have to rest after work. Let's not go over this anymore. You know I'm right, but just want to be stubborn about this" Jade told him

making him frown at her.

"So wanting to be with you makes me stubborn? Okay fine if you don't want to see me all week, then I'm cool with it" Jake told her. From his tone it was obvious he was angry. He didn't understand why she was putting so much space between them....okay fine he understood, he just didn't want it.

"Are you angry at me now?" Jade cocked a brow and asked him, but the angry man wouldn't reply as he turned his face to look outside the window.

Jade sighed audibly.

She removed her seat belt and leaned closer to him, turning his face towards her with her hand.

"Come on, you know why I'm doing this don't you?"

"I don't know" He replied grumpily, averting his gaze from her eyes. He didn't want to look at them or else he'd be swayed by her.

"Don't be like this. Do you want to go home being angry at me? Do you want to be angry all week? And it's just for four days" She told him, her hand stroking his chin.

"I don't like it. Four days it's long" He hissed and turned his face from her again, but her hand was fast to hold him back. He was behaving like a grumpy baby.

"I don't even know how you're so relaxed about this. Babe this is four days, four days" He said exaggeratedly. "But if its what you want I'll do as you say" He reluctantly said. The heaven knows he detested this idea with all his heart, even though he knows it was for his own sake. She was being reasonable but he didn't want to see it that way.

As a matter of fact, he thinks he prefers her clingy self, more than the reasonable her. He didn't like this Jade. He wanted the one who wanted him to herself and would make cute, sexy puppy eyes for him. This one was a buzz kill. He hissed in his mind frustratedly.

Jade knew he didn't mean the words he just said. He was still upset and she knew it. She had to let him work and save his company. She knew how consuming and stressful the forthcoming days would be for him, and she didn't want to add to his stress. Because after the angry stunt she pulled on him earlier today for not seeing or hearing from him, she knew he'd be worried not to anger her with him being absent or AWOL for the next couple of days.

"Don't be grumpy, it makes you look...." She paused for effect as she pulled a contemplative look. An attempt to pique his interest. She knew talking about his looks always got his interest.

Jake cocked his brow at her, "Look like what?" He asked interestedly just as she expected. If she said something that he didn't like or use any fashion related words like the ones she used earlier, then she should be ready to face the consequences.

Jade's lips curved up when she finally got his interest. This guy sure likes his look more than anything. She puckered her lips and kissed him on his cheek.

"Like my cute big bunny" She said with a teaseful smile, making Jake try to stiffle the smile which was threatening to break out on his face.

She smoothened his hair with her hand, as she spoke. "Be a good boy for momma okay?" She consoled her mighty baby. "I'll give a treat after all this okay?" She tried enticing him, and that worked because the next second Jake was looking at her with interested eyes.

"Really?" He curiously inquired, while Jade bobbed her head vigorously.

"What kind of treat?" Jake asked with excited eyes.

"No need to rush. You'll find out by weekend" She said. She also didn't know what kind of treat it would be. She had just said that on impulse, she'll have to come up with something before the weekend, but for now this will help him comply with her arrangement.

"Why don't you tell me, so it can motivate me" He pressed.

"Then it'll ruin the surprise. Just be good" She patted his head. He looked at her for a while before slowly nodding his head reluctantly.

"That's my good boy" She quickly pecked his cheek. "Alright I have to go in" Jade added, making Jake frown again which Jade obviously noticed.

What was wrong with him again?! She cried in her mind.

"You want to leave just like that?" He asked with a disbelieving look.

"What else am i supposed to do now?" Jade asked in confusion. Jake's frown deepened when she asked that. He gave her look that Said, she wasn't supposed to ask him that.

"What about my goodbye kiss?" He asked in horror. "It's going to be four long days, give some kiss to last me for those days" He muttered. She narrowed her eyes to look at him, before leaning into kiss him. She had wanted to give him a quick kiss, but this 'lip lover' monopolized her lips, cupping her cheeks with his hands and kissing her passionately till they were out of breath.

Jade pulled away and came up for breath, but that guy was still looking at her lips lustfully, as he tried to lean in again.

"That's enough" She warned him, but he didn't listen.

"Just one more for the road, please" He pleaded, before taking her lips in his again. Jade wouldn't lie she was going to miss him for the next couple of days...miss him like crazy.

Jake finally let go after another round of hot and passionate kissing. "Just so you know I'll endlessly kiss you after all this is over" He told her, his words making her blush. She imagined Jake pouncing on her lips and that was enough to make her blush harder.

Her poor lips would be in trouble, come this weekend.

She quickly kissed his cheek before hopping out of his car, with Jake sadly watching her back. She turned and waved at him and he waved back. He waited till she finally stepped into the house before driving off.

He sighed after she walked in.

Hillary was going to pay for all the discomfort and displeasure she was causing him now.. This was all her fault!.
