Chapter 114 - Messing Up His Plan

Name:When You Are Mine Author:Da_Rose
If Jake was asked why he kept pulling silly pranks just so he could spend time with a girl who he slept with some months ago, I'm sure he wouldn't be able to provide a proper answer. All he knew was, he liked being around Jade, her very presence felt like a soothing balm to him.

His attraction to Jade was something he couldn't explain to himself. He couldn't label the feelings he had towards her. Whether it was lust, crush, like or anything that a guy would feel towards a girl, Jake really didn't know. All he was sure of was that this lady sitted right in front of him was an enigma he hasn't ecountered before.

It's indeed true that humans are attracted to mysterious things. Things they haven't seen before and things they couldn't understand. This was the typical case for Jake.

The more he tried to solve this little problem that was challenging him, the more he realized he couldn't understand it at all.

An awkward silence lingered between them till Jade cleared her throat.

"Ermm Mr Jake I don't think you're fit to do any business now. Why don't you leave this for some other time" Jade said with concern.

"It doesn't matter. Being sick or not should not deprive me of carrying out my responsibility as the CEO. If I for relax for just a bit, then people begin to lose money and then I have a major crises at hand" Jake said smoothly. Wasn't he doing exactly what be just said right now?

Lying on an hospital bed just to buy time wasn't that some sort of relaxation?

Jade had a pitiable look on her face. She didn't expect him to be living such a lonely and painful life. 'Being the heir of a wealthy and influential family does come with a price' Jade thought to herself before sighing deeply.

First he wasn't happy and has never experienced anything fun in his life, like just doing things that he could laugh freely about. And now, not only was he unhappy he was also lonely. To Jade, Jake's life was indeed hard, far harder than they the poor folks. Because even though she was from a humble background she knew she could always count on her family to bring her so much joy and keep her company in her hardest times. If she were the one here right, she was sure her mother would close up the shop and Kevin will most definitely ditch school just so they could keep her company.

Jade really did feel sorry for Jake that he was lonely at a time like this. What about his brother? Wasn't Mr Dreamy supposed to be his brother? He should be here for him right?

Should she ask him about his brother? Would he see it as she intruding into his privacy by asking? But he needed someone beside him at the moment.

Jade cautiously cleared her throat again to gain Jake's attention, which she got in an instant, as Jake focused his gaze on her, waiting for what she had to say.

"Mr Jake, I don't mean to pry but where is your brother? He should be able to look after you at the moment" Jade said, and if she was observant she'll have noticed that sudden flash in Jake's eyes when he heard her.

When Jake heard her, he finally realized he hasn't really thought things through. How could such an important information like Jade knowing about his brother escape his mind. That stupid fool just had to go interwin himself with Jade's friend. 'Idiot' Jake bitterly cussed in his heart like it was Blake's fault he didn't have a full proof plan.

Just as he racked his brain to come with something believable, the door of the room was flung open gaining the attention of both parties. And as if Jade's words has conjured Blake, he materialized himself by the door with a worrisome look on his face.

"Big Bro?" Blake called out, his voice full of worry. Jake closed his eyes as soon as he saw Blake. This was not what he planned. How did he know he was here?

Jade felt relieved as soon as Blake walked into the room. Finally someone to look after him.

"Good morning" Jade greeted the man who just walked in, but Blake was too concerned with his brother that he didn't notice neither did he hear her greet.

"What happened to you Bro?" Blake asked with a heavy voice as he walked over to Jake, his eyes sizing him up.

"I'm fine" Jake replied with a warning tone buried in his voice, but Blake was too bothered by his brother's condition to hear it.

"How dare you say you're fine when you're lying here" Blake said his voice heavier than before. This was his first time seeing his brother on the hospital bed and he didn't like it at all.

"What happened to you? Did you eat something bad? Is it fatigue?" Blake asked in one go, not even giving Jake the opportunity to nod or shake his head.

"Don't tell me it's something serious? Jake you can't be seriously sick okay. I can't take it, grandfather can't take it too" Blake was a the point of tears as he kept rambling on, not noticing the pull on his Jacket.

Jake could tell his brother was worried out of his mind but he also needed him to be quiet so he wouldn't mess up his plan. How did Blake get to know he was here? There was only one answer to that....Patrick.

Patrick could as well kiss his job goodbye should his plan falter.

"I said I'm fine" Jake said again. Blake was about to retort Jake's statement when he suddenly felt a pinch on his thigh.

"Oouch" Blake whimped at the stinging pain on his thigh. He lowered his head to take a look at and he was shocked when realized who the culprit was.

"Huh??" His eyes gazed at Jake in confusion. He narrowed his bore when he noticed Jake's awkward eyes movement.

"What is..." His words trailer off when he followed Jake's coded eye movement and he realized there was someone seated there.

Jade who was contemplating giving the brothers some privacy lifted her head up when she heard Blake's voice.

"Lady in red?"
