Chapter 100 - Dinner?

Name:When You Are Mine Author:Da_Rose
Blake was worried sick about Jake. Last night was the second time he had seen Jake in that enraged state. The first time was the day his father died and Kyle was his victim too. Jake had surprisingly pulled a gun on Kyle, completely surprising everyone. Kyle had barely escaped with his life at the time.

Jake could be very rational and he'll make great decisions both for the company and for himself. But when he was that angry, Jake was beyond reasoning mostly when someone dear to him was hurt. For those he cared about he'll always go the extra mile to protect.

Jake has always been his and Kyle's protector back in school, mostly Kyle's. Some idiots usually laughed at him and teased him when he had an adrenaline episode back in school, and Jake would always go into his fighting mode, just to defend and protect Kyle. Jake would always get in trouble because of them. If not for their family's reputation he probably would have been expelled a couple of times.

Blake was in a dilemma. Should he mention what happened last night to their grandfather? He was the only one who could make Jake see reason. But he had promised Jake he wouldn't, and he knew why he had asked him not to. Their grandfather was sick and telling him this would stress him out and maybe worsen his health condition.

Blake tried calming himself down. He kept assuring himself that Jake wouldn't do anything to Kyle for the time being, since Kyle was still in the hospital and from the information he had gotten from the doctor, Kyle damages were quite severe, and would probably stay in the hospital for sometime. That would give him a enough time to think about what he could do to manage the situation at hand.

He knew he had to step in to the situation, because his brother was too blinded by rage and he wouldn't see reason till Kyle and Hillary pays for what they did.

Blake was still lost in his thoughts when he heard a knock on his door.

"Come in" He said as he kneaded his temple, he was having a throbbing headache from all the stress and over thinking.

His eyes were fixed on the door as he waited for who it was to come in. He could vaguely see the person's silhouette through the blur glass door.

Blake was shocked when Amy walked into his office. He had not expected to see her in his office, because she has never done that before. He was usually the one who visits her office. And to he hasn't forgotten the fact that, she was angry at him and had practically yelled at him the other day.

'What was she doing here?' Blake was not only stunned by her surprise visit but by how beautiful she looked.

"Good morning Director Blake" Amy greeted him as soon as she walked into his office.

"Good-morning Miss Walker" He greeted back. He didn't know what to say next. Should he ask why she was there? Would that be rude? This woman was a ticking time tomb, with all those crazy mood swings. No, he'd rather keep quiet and wait for her to speak up first.

He doesn't want to worsen the problem more than it was already. Women are a handful, and this one in front of him was a living testimony.

Amy looked at him and she could tell he was feeling awkward.

"Mr Blake, I'm sorry about my uncultured behavior at the restaurant the other day. I really shouldn't have done that" Amy said apologectically.

Blake was once again surprised. She was apologizing to him? He was supposed to apologize to her, after all he offended her first. So why was she apologizing? Was it because he was her boss? Maybe that was the case.

"Why are you apologizing? I should be the one doing that. So please don't" Blake said.

"No I should apologize. It was irresponsible and immature of me to yell at you like that. Though I was angry for some other reason which you probably aren't aware of, still I shouldn't have done that" Amy explained calmly.

"Something related to me?" Blake asked curiously. He was sure whatever was pissing or had pissed her off was somehow related to him.

"Yes, but don't ask me what it was" Amy replied sharply.

"Why?" Amy's calmness while talking was making him uneasy. It felt like the calm before the storm. He had seen her angry and now...He doesn't even know if she was still angry.

If he had done something that offended her, something other than what happened at the party, shouldn't he at least know, so he could properly apologize.

"Because - because I want to tell you later tonight" Amy said.

"Tonight?" Blake's brows narrowed. He was utterly confused. Why tonight? What was special about tonight?

"Yes. I want to invite you to dinner and properly apologize and also, there's something else I would love to tell you" Amy said as she stared at him.

"Dinner?" Blake cocked his brow. "Why dinner? You can say whatever you want here, and you don't need to apologize over dinner" Blake was still very much confused. His confusion was evident on his face.

Amy could see that this guy was still as clueless as ever. How could he not know when it meant when a lady asks a guy out for dinner?

It's a date dummy!

How did she even like someone like him? But God she can't help it. His cluelessness was another why she couldn't stop liking him.

"Because I have something important to tell you, and I can only do that over dinner" Amy told him with a tone of finality.

"But..."

"Director Blake, you said you wanted to apologize to me right?" Amy asked talking a step closer to his desk.

"Yes" He nodded.

"Then I'll only hear it when you come. Blue night Lounge 7pm. Don't keep me waiting" Amy said with a small smile, before turning to leave. Blake was surprised by all this. He still didn't understand why she wanted them to apologize only over dinner. And what was so important that couldn't be said here? He also thought she didn't owe him an apology.

His eyes followed her as she gracefully walked to the door. His eyes shot up to her face, when she suddenly turned to look at him again.

"Director Blake, don't keep a lady waiting okay" She winked at him, with her usual smile.

Did she just smile and wink at him? No!, was she trying to flirt with him?

Blake was completely lost. This was the reason he kept his distance from the female gender. They are uniquely complicated. One minute they are angry and the next minute they are not.

Blake didn't know what to do. Should he go or should he not? Maybe he should ask Jake? He dismissed the thought out of his head, Jake was still in a bad mood so he couldn't go to him.

Amy began to feel nervous as soon as she walked out of Blake's office. She took in deep breaths to calm herself. There shouldn't be any reason for her to be nervous right? Jade had assured her everything would be fine after this. She'll be sure of what to do after tonight.

Just as Jade has said, what could possibly go wrong? Worse comes to worst he'd reject her.

Amy shut her eyes tightly at that thought. Though she might have prepared herself before walking into Blake's office, she still didn't think there would be any preparation tough enough to protect her heart if Blake eventually rejects her. She wouldn't know what to do, if that happens.

But the most important thing was would he come? What if he decides not to show up? Then all her preparation would go to waste. God no!

She slowly made her way back to her office. Her heart was thumping loudly in her chest. She couldn't stop the scary thoughts of Blake rejecting her feelings or of him not showing up later tonight from running through her mind.

"Amy get a grip over yourself" She muttered under her breath. She took several deep breaths to calm herself down, but the more she did the more nervous she felt.

This was the first time she'd do something like this. Something like confessing her feelings to a guy.

Should she just cancel? She should probably run back into his office and apologize and him it was supposed to be a prank to get back at him but she has repented and changed her mind? Should she do that?

'No! Amy pull your shit together. You are not a coward' She chided herself. She wouldn't do any of that. It was neither now or never.

Tonight she will make her feelings known to Blake.. Whatever happens after that, she'd accept it as fate.
