8 Soul jewel

It is night time in the holy valley and a few lights could be seen. Some were from campfires, others were from light attribute soul beasts.

"I know we are pretty deep in the valley but tomorrow I want to go even further and look for strong soul beasts. What about you Wang Wei?" It was Long Yue who said this as he stuffed his face with food.

"I think that it is reckless but then again big risks mean big rewards. For now, let's just make sure we get through the night. The teachers even told us it would be safer if we would stay with them because the soul beasts that become active at night are really dangerous. That is because you only see them when it's too late."

"Yeah, yeah, I know it's dangerous out here. But we are dangerous to the soul beasts especially when we get our soul jewels."

"I don't know about that at our level there is always someone or something that is stronger. Good night."

The first light of dawn hit the holy valley as Wang Wei and Long Yue woke up.

"Okay, it's morning let's go." Long Yue said.

"Okay let's go this direction." Wang Wei replied.

As he finished his sentence the two moved at high speed in the direction Wang Wei suggested.

2 hours later.

"I'll distract it and then you can hit it." It was Wang Wei who shouted this to Long Yue.

At the moment they were in a fight with a crimson lion.

"Okay, just protect yourself." Long Yue replied.

Wang Wei' Snake claws and defensive scales appeared and he swung his right arm at the crimson lion' face and right after that, he swung his left arm. The second the crimson lion focused on Wang Wei, Long Yue' holy claws appeared and slashed at the crimson lion' body. It only left a wound that was a couple of centimeters deep which indicated that it was at least a thousand five hundred years old crimson lion. The crimson lion roared furiously as he pounced toward Long Yue. A smile appeared on Long Yue' face. The next second the crimson lion slashed at Long Yue but there was no blood. The crimson lion had hit an after image of Long Yue. His speed increased greatly when he used his holy claws. The moment the crimson turned around it was greeted with a spinning back kick in the face from Wang Wei. The crimson lion stumbled and fell to the ground it was still alive. Wang Wei just knocked out a crimson lion that was a thousand five hundred years old.

"I knocked it out! I don't believe it." Wang Wei exclaimed.

"That spinning back kick was flawless and it hit the crimson lion' temple perfectly. That doesn't happen very often not even with the best martial artists. Congrats Wang Wei, and thank you for this opportunity." Long Yue said as he walked over to the unconscious crimson lion as his holy claws shone in the morning sun.

The next moment his holy claws impaled and slashed all over the crimson lion' body. The next moment a bright yellow light shone from the crimson lion' corpse. After the light dimmed down a yellow soul jewel rose up from the crimson lion' body. Long Yue walked over and grabbed it. He then sat down cross-legged and was ready to begin integrating with it.

"Wang Wei, will you keep me safe while I try to integrate with this soul jewel?"

"Yeah, sure. Just stop if it gets too much okay?"

"I know, I know. Don't worry I got this." Long Yue said with a great smile on his face.

While Long Yue was meditating and trying to integrate with the yellow soul jewel Wang Wei decided to train his spirit powers because the higher his spirit power would be the easier it would be to integrate with a yellow soul jewel. Long Yue' spirit power was at the bottleneck of the spirit plains so it wouldn't be easy for him but it wouldn't be hard a well it would be doable but for Wang Wei, it was different he just reached rank ten and Long Yue was already rank thirteen.

As he sat down he felt even more relaxed than when he would cultivate in the forest back home. Before he knew it, it was already night time. He had cultivated all day when he opened his eyes he was more aware of the changes in a twelve-meter radius from him. 'I broke through! I broke through to the spirit country level!' Wang Wei thought to himself. He then turned to look if everything was alright with Long Yue and he was also awakening from his meditation.

"And? Did you integrate with the soul jewel?" Wang Wei asked.

Long Yue didn't say anything he just raised his hand. And with a big smile on his, he turned his hand around so that the back of his hand faced Wang Wei. A solid yellow jewel could be seen on his right hand below his index finger' knuckle.

"Haha, how do you like that I am getting further and further away from you." Long Yue said with a smirk on his face.

"Are you sure about that?" Wang Wei replied. "I just broke through to the spirit country level. I can get an even lighter soul jewel than you."

"What?! Spirit country? How? You have a trash soul form you cultivated to spirit country before me. That is amazing! Wang Wei teach me how you did it I need to know so that you won't get ahead."

"I don't know either. I just started cultivating and when I awakened I had reached the spirit country level. But that doesn't matter right now. What soul technique did you acquire is it an attacking technique?" Wang Wei said.

"Yes, and it is awesome let me show you." The next moment his soul jewel on the back of his hand lit up and a white leopard claw manifested but the nails were a crimson red color. He then slashed at a boulder that was only a few steps further. In the air, five streaks of red flames could be seen and the boulder was slashed apart. "I'll call it crimson slash."

"That's amazing Long Yue. Tomorrow let's look for a soul jewel for me." Wang Wei said.
