Chapter 207 The First Wave Driven Back

It was now the 10th day of combat and the enemy forces had been beaten up so much in the past few days that every one of their moves seemed sluggish and the soldiers had not really been fighting at their best. This gave Baron and his allies many opportunities to deal massive damage to their foes, which they did capitalize upon. Roxi's great accuracy with the deepstrikes allowed them to save so many missiles that would otherwise have been wasted hitting nothing. Many other reasons were the reason for their success, but these were the main two.

As it so happened, it would take another two days for Baron's allies to crush all of the first waves of 800,000 enemy soldiers to such a point of despair and disrepair that they were no longer able to pose a threat to Baron ever again. However, all their enemies had to do was to be folded into another army and they would be able to be useful once again. The only thing that Baron had accomplished was to convince the enemy army to send in more powerful armies to crush his own.

The situation was looking even grimmer for Baron's allies now that they had repelled the first wave. Not only have they lost more than 80,000 of their men due to combat, and also they had lost close to half of all of their fighters. This impacted their battle strategy a lot as they now had even less to work with while Xuan Feng and the rest of the all-stars still had close to 2 million soldiers in their ranks.

On the thirteenth day, the encirclement of millions of soldiers stood firm and stayed where they were as if they were waiting for something. Baron knew that Xuan Feng was not the type of person to allow his opponents to starve, based on several rumors. So what was he hoping to achieve by not going into action? Could it be that there was just something that Baron was missing? He looked up at the sky only to see one giant cloud that blocked his view of the blue sky.

He got his answer shortly after as many bomber airplanes appeared from that giant cloud as if they were waiting for an opportunity to strike. The first place that these military aircraft targeted was the deepstrikes that were under Roxi's control. After only one trip through the deepstrikes, they were able to take out 5% of the deepstrikes. This bomber unit was not a small one, likely it consisted of the majority of the enemy aerial forces. Baron only had a split second to respond and he called Guan Yu, Yue Fei, Meng Wu, and Roxi to the deepstrike field. He knew that even with all of the soldiers who could shoot at the planes, they would not be able to down enough of them to make a significant impact. Using the deepstrikes was not exactly feasible as they weren't heat-seeking and would likely not be useful for this occasion anyway.

The reason that Baron called out his closest allies this time around was so that all 5 of them would reveal their secret weapon together in a bid to try and save their deepstrikes. They all gathered and took out their weapons in the field of deepstrikes that was now devoid of human souls. Any time now, the bombers would be back for another round and that was when they would be able to give it their all. Bombers appeared south of their location and the 5 of them let loose the brilliant blue weapon that was the pride of Roxi's work. They all unleashed it at the same time and within minutes, they had already downed a few dozen enemy aircraft.

From there on out, it took them only half an hour more to take out hundreds of these bombers and made the rest retreat. However, though they were successful in repelling the bombers, the number of usable deepstrikes was less than half of what they used to be. Even then, the number of missiles that they would be able to use was limited as well. If they were to do everything properly, they would assess every deepstrike and make sure that it would not malfunction after such an event. Be that as it may, in the distance, Baron and the rest were able to hear the rumbling of soldiers coming towards them in many different ways of transportation.

Baron ordered Roxi to make do with what she had and had the other 3 follow him back to command the front lines. First, all of the deepstrike deployers were recalled back to Roxi. What the 4 of them saw when they got back was that it appeared that at least one and a half million men were coming towards them at full speed. There was only one more layer of forces that were staying on the sidelines. Baron guessed that these were the true forces of Xuan Feng and the all-stars.

It didn't matter what he thought though, he would need everything his men had and even more if they were to survive this ordeal. Roxi managed to get everything in order in an amazingly small timeframe and was firing away at their enemies. With so many enemies for her to hit, she was able to get her hit rate up to 75% of the time.
