Chapter 127 Dealing with the 5

The most decisive battle of this warzone was about to go down. It would be Guan Yu and Yue Fei fighting off the 5 guards of Wu San Gui. Make no mistake, this would be no easy fight. It seemed that the 5 of these fighters were no amateurs at hand to hand combat, not to mention that stellar team play that they had going on. However, Guan Yu and Yue Fei were quite the duo as well, they have been practicing for at least a few decades now. Yue Fei was an exceptional archer while Guan Yu was no slouch in swordplay. Together, these two also made quite a formidable team.

Just before this fight started, Yue Fei ordered his men who had taken control of the ships to fire at the ship that was housing the 5 guards as well as Guan Yu. Now, this was obviously not meant to kill these strategists, but rather, to make it so that they lose their commanding abilities while also putting some pressure on them while they would be fighting Guan Yu and Yue Fei. The cannon shots rang out almost indistinct from any other in this vast battlefield, but the impact of it would confuse the ironclads that they were surrounded by.

After the first few shots penetrated the lower levels of the ship, Guan Yu went to confront the 5 guards. Previously, Guan Yu had told Yue Fei that the weak link of the team who wasn't as skillful as the rest was a lady wielding a war fan. Their plan was for Yue Fei to take her down before Guan Yu engaged the other 4 to make things slightly in their favor.

Guan Yu signaled to Yue Fei and Yue Fei cocked his bow to aim at the war fan wielder. He took a deep breath before he let loose his arrow and it hit her square in the heart. It was just too bad that she was able to slightly mitigate the arrow by shielding herself with her fan which allowed her to stay alive, but she would be out of commission for the following fight. Now it was Guan Yu's time to shine and boy did he have a vengeance against these remaining 4. He engaged and once again he found himself being masterfully pushed back by the 4, but this time, they were much less effective since they were missing a member.

Yue Fei was fighting with Guan Yu this time by assisting in disrupting the combo of the 4 with his excellent archer skills allowing Guan Yu to escape and deal damage to these 4 fighters. It was clear that the 4 of them would lose this match, it was only a matter of time. Guan Yu and Yue Fei knew it, the 5 of them knew it, and Connely that was just a few ships over knew it too, he just couldn't do anything about it.

Now that those 5 guards of Wu San Gui were no longer a threat, Guan Yu and Yue Fei turned their attention to the serious trouble that they were in. The two of them quickly laid out their options and decided to have their previous crewmates use the ship that they were standing on and start firing on the other ironclads. Meanwhile, Guan Yu, Yue Fei, and a handful of others would make their way to the ship right beside them and take over that one as well.

Everyone got to work and the situation turned from very unfavorable to slightly less dangerous than it was before. Guan Yu and Yue Fei were still in the middle of enemy ranks after all, plus, there was still a bunch of enemy ships that were coming their way so they had no choice but to move fast. Within half an hour, they took over another 5 enemy ironclads and replaced the enemy with their own soldiers and had them fire at the other ironclads.

Unknowingly, Guan Yu threw overboard Connely, the enemy commander in chief of this fleet of ironclads, and thought he was just another soldier. They were making good progress, the ironclads that they were shooting at were confused and tried to ask them what was going on multiple times, but were answered with an unfeeling "Sorry, this is captain's orders".

This caused even more confusion to the situation and bought some time before the other Ironclads decided enough was enough and turned their cannons onto the ships that had fallen to Guan Yu and Yue Fei's hands. It was a good run, but under the concentration of so many ironclads, the captured ships were sunk within minutes.

This wasn't the big pressing matter now, it was that the ironclads that had been stalled up until this point were finally almost upon them. Baron and his fleet had quite the trouble fighting off just this little detachment of ironclads, but now, a fleet double that of what they had been fighting for the past few hours was about to enter into the fray as well.

The only good news they had at this point was that these newcomers had been continually bombarded with the land artillery non-stop for the past few hours as well. That meant that many of these ironclads were damaged, and damaged quite badly as well. Even with this though, Baron was quite unsure of whether or not he would make it out of this battle victorious.
