Chapter 1327 Dinner

Devin thought he had misheard her. He wanted to make sure that he heard the right thing. "What did you say?"

"I said, please hug me one last time."

Patricia was practically begging. Her tears were beginning to fall. Seeing her like this broke Devin's heart.

He already knew about Patricia's feelings for him.

But there was nothing else that he could do. He had tried to accept her several times, but he always failed to convince himself all because Mamie had come into his life.

Mamie had destroyed his very idea of love. He had once thought that he could spend the rest of his life with a woman he didn't love if they shared a child. It was through endurance that he understood that two people might fall in love eventually.

He then had realized just how wrong he was. He couldn't be with Patricia for a lifetime.

"Of course, Patricia."

Devin succumbed to Patricia's final request. He hoped that this would give her the closure she desired.

Devin glanced over at Patricia several times before finally making up his mind. This was going

eradicate all of his feelings for his wife during the commute home. Patricia was pitiful, but she didn't share what he and Mamie had. Human beings are just always inherently selfish. However, living selfishly was the best way to survive.

Devin would never leave his traces.

"I'm back, baby,"

Devin called, and he could smell something faintly aromatic in the air.

She was cooking food in the kitchen.

Whatever it was, it smelled so good.

"Oh, you're back. Dinner will be ready in half an hour. I made your favorites!"

A lively voice came, and the kitchen door swung open with Mamie's head just poking behind it. She looked at Devin lovingly with a sweet smile plastered on her face.
