Chapter 1316 Linda Felt Terribly Painful

Even if Linda's fever had dissipated, she still looked deathly pale. Charles shook his head as he watched her sleep. He hated seeing her this way.

Carefully, Charles stood and brushed the hairs out of Linda's face, before enveloping her in a warm embrace.

"I will never let you out of my sight again..."

Charles whispered into her ear, memorizing her scent out of fear that she might disappear again.

If that happened, Charles would never be able to handle the pain in his chest.

As he hugged her, the sound of the door opening jolted his attention. He turned toward the door.

Linda had awaken from the sound as well. They saw Dragon by the door, with bloodshot eyes. Just as she was about to greet him, Dragon immediately approached them and knelt down before her.

"Dragon? What are you doing?"

Linda asked, eyebrows furrowing in confusion as she tried to sit up. Charles, however, stretched out a hand in front of her.

"He deserves this. He failed to keep you safe!"

Charles spat, glaring at a quivering Dragon.

"What are you talking about? What happened has nothing to do with him. The kidnappers were too cunning," Linda retorted, looking at Charles with narrowed eyes.

you, so it would be easier to take us,"

Linda answered, slowly putting the rest of the events back together in her head.

"They were organized. Those people were cunning and fully-prepared for what happened. We just happened to outsmart them in time."

Just as Linda finished, the door squeaked open again. When the three of them turned around, they saw Paul by the door.

"My Lady, are you feeling better?"

Behind Paul, Cindy walked into the ward as well. As soon as she saw Linda, she shoved Paul away and ran into Linda's arms as she sobbed. "Are you all right?"

"Well... if you keep holding me like this, I won't be." Cindy suddenly let go of Linda because of what she said. However, Linda still winced in pain when she felt her back hit the quilt.

Her back was severely injured.
