Chapter 1288 Nothing Matters Anymore

Mamie was so frustrated with what Devin had told her. There was no possibility of them marrying now, and it greatly distressed Mamie. She felt so bad that she didn't allow Devin to sleep on the same bed with her that night. Left with no other choice, Devin decided to go to talk with Patricia that night.

It wasn't until he arrived home that he remembered Patricia was still in the hospital recovering from her miscarriage. Perhaps it was time to visit her now, and Devin could use this to his advantage.

At the thought of this, Devin rushed to the hospital where Patricia was staying.

After reaching the gate of the Nalan Clan's private hospital, he took a deep breath to calm himself.

Devin had decided it would be best to negotiate directly with Patricia. Perhaps he was doing this all wrong. Perhaps if he spoke to her in a kinder and healthier tone, she would agree to leave him, and Mamie alone.

Up to this point, the tension between Patricia and Devin had increased to a boiling point. The two of them could not see eye to eye in anything, and it did not look good.

Devin went so far as to purchase some fruits and flowers for Patricia to smooth things out. Perhaps the gifts would help her see things his way.

Devin reached Patricia's ward.

He noticed that Patricia was still undergoing intravenous treatment.

He knocked at the door before pushing it, and stepping inside the ward.

Upon hearing the knocking sound, Patricia slightly opened her eyes.

in put the flowers and fruits down on a little table beside him before he sat down beside Patricia's bed.

"I would like to have a talk with you... You see, we both should not have forced ourselves upon each other. The relationship started off on the wrong foot. From the start, we were both just not meant to be. The only reason we agreed to marry each other was that you were carrying my children. Well, that's not the case anymore. Things have changed. You had a miscarriage by chance. So now, I don't think there's any reason for us to get married. I am sorry for your loss of the children. I really am, but there's nothing I can do."

Devin explained everything in a calm voice, and Patricia did not interrupt him.

It was all clear to Patricia now. She could see what Devin's motives were for this visit. He was persuading Patricia to leave him.

Devin had no idea that Patricia did not even care about being a Lady of the Nalan Clan. Not anymore. Nothing mattered anymore.
