Chapter 1152 Would You Still Think So

With a sly grin, Nancy said, "I mean that we need a guest actor for our sitcom. It's quite simple.

There are only a few lines. So, I recommended you to the director!"

Then, she turned to the fatty and said, "His name is Charles Mu, and he is now a famous investor in America. He has made many public appearances on CNN.

Since he has such an important status, we can't treat him like a newcomer. Am I right?"

Charles furrowed his brows. "What are you saying? I didn't promise you that I'd be a guest star."

"Don't worry. I'm sure you can play the part very well. You can give it a try," Nancy said, clapping him on the shoulder.

With a smile, Linda urged him to give it a try, too.

Since even Linda was asking him to do it, Charles had no choice but to accede to Nancy's request. The lines were really simple, just two or three sentences, and Charles only had to appear around three times.

Because of his rich experience in the business world, Charles had developed an extraordinarily strong mind. So, even though this was his first time acting, and that too in front of a large audience, Charles didn't have a hint of stage fright.

In fact, his performance was so wonderful that the audience broke into warm applause.

This made Nancy feel a little surprised.

She had wanted to humiliate Charles in public and hadn't expected that he'd be so calm and competent.

Of course, dealing with such a minor problem was just a piece of cake for Charles. Once that was done, Charles and Linda had a rare moment of leisure.

Then, Charles attended the World Economic Forum conference.

At the conference, he exchanged pleasantries with other representatives out of politeness, even though he did not like it.

After the two-day conference, Charles's trip to America finally came to a successful end.

Then, he returned home with Linda. When they stepped out of the airport, Linda took a deep breath of fresh air. "I'm so happy to be home!" she exclaimed.

Charles took her hand and they went back to the Mu Clan's villa together. As soon as they opened the door, Little Tomato and Little Potato rushed toward them excitedly.

Charles hugged and kissed the two children and played with them. Since he hadn't seen them for a long time, he missed them very much.

To celebrate coming home, Linda personally prepared delicious food for her family, and they had a wonderful time that evening.

Th

our management.

I'm sure you'll find a way to help me."

Charles nodded. "There must be a way.

However, before I start helping you, can you tell me what business you're in? What does your father do?"

The reason why Charles asked such questions was because he really knew very little about Andrew.

All he knew was that Andrew was from the Deng Clan, which was a prominent family. He didn't know any other details about Andrew or the Deng Clan.

Andrew knew that he had to answer Charles's questions truthfully in order to earn his trust.

"Mr. Mu, I didn't mean to hide it from you. It's just that my family is engaged in too many industries, including mining, manufacturing, agriculture, and services. Since the Deng Clan has a lot of businesses, it's also involved in a lot of relationships.

More importantly, the Deng Clan is descended from an imperial family.

It is because of our ancestral glory that my family is so prosperous. I hope you know enough about my family now, Mr. Mu."

Charles couldn't help sighing. He had never imagined that Andrew's family would have such a marvelous history.

Seeing the surprised look on Charles's face, Andrew smiled wryly. Contrary to popular belief, he didn't feel proud of his family at all.

"Mr. Mu, you might be thinking that I'm lucky to be born into such a distinguished family. But there's something you should know first. When I was about 16 years old, I fell in love with a girl from a common family.

Because she accidentally offended my grandfather, she was crippled in front of me.

So if you were me, would you still think so?"
