Chapter 938 Don’t Embarrass Me In Public

Becker's words made Linda think about her own life. 'Maybe true love never runs smoothly?' she thought.

She started reminiscing about her history with Charles. If she was a common woman instead of the eldest daughter of the Xia Clan, she might never have had the chance to meet Charles.

Anna was a little luckier than her. She was a common woman but Becker had still met her and fallen in love with her. It was basically a Cinderella story.

Linda and Charles had been through a lot, so she cherished her relationship with him very much.

"Do you know where Anna is? I have something to explain to her," Becker said. But out of the corner of his eyes, he saw a shadow on the wall.

He frowned and went right up to it. Then, he spotted Anna standing in the corner.

It seemed that Anna had been eavesdropping on his conversation with Linda, but her shadow had sold her out.

Linda couldn't help but laugh when she saw Anna. 'Oh, Anna, my careless girl, did you forget that you have a shadow? Your little games are not going to work, ' she thought.

"There you are, darling. I've been looking for you everywhere. I missed you so much," Becker said as he put his arms around her.

He felt upset when he realized that Anna had lost some weight.

When Anna saw Becker's face, her eyes immediately welled up with tears of sadness.

She quickly looked away and tried to disengage herself from his grip, but Becker was too strong. She couldn't free herself.

"Honey, please. Just let me explain. I didn't mean to celebrate the Spring Festival with Rosy. I went back to Europe first. She came there later with my mother. I didn't even know that she was coming. Trust me, baby. I'm telling the truth," Becker said, trying his best to explain everything to Anna.

But he was speaking so fast that she couldn't follow him.

In fact, she didn't want to listen to his explanation at all, so she just stared at the ground without saying anything.

Becker forced her to raise her head and kissed her.

"You bastard, let me go!" Anna shouted, pushing him away.

Becker didn't say anything. Instead, he tightened his arms arou

dy forgiven him, so he smiled in relief.

Then, he drove Anna to the shopping mall. Anna always wore budget brands but Becker took her directly to a luxury boutique.

The truth was, Anna was sort of rich.

Charles was a generous boss and paid Anna a million dollars a year.

But Anna always kept a low profile. She chose to save her money and not spend too much.

Memories of hard years had made her very thrifty. Even her best clothes didn't cost more than 150 dollars.

"I don't need these expensive clothes. They won't suit me," Anna tried to persuade Becker to take her to another store.

"Don't worry, honey. I'm here. I'll buy them for you. You don't have to pay," Becker said.

"No, it's not just that these clothes are out of my price range, I don't like them at all. Let's leave, okay?" Anna continued to argue.

"Look, honey. Some of the brands on the fifth floor are owned and operated by my family. You can just buy whatever you want. I tore your skirt, so I want to buy you a new one," Becker explained patiently.

"Thank you for your kindness. But I told you, I don't need these expensive clothes,"

Anna continued to reject his offer.

Realizing that Anna wouldn't change her mind, Becker put his arms around her and kissed her on the lips.

"What are you doing? Don't embarrass me in public!" Anna said, trying to push Becker away. Her voice drew the attention of people passing by.
