Chapter 914 Do You Even Have A Conscience

Sean was surprised that Christina could remain so calm.

He couldn't fathom that Christina, who was hysterical in front of him yesterday, was now sitting quietly on the bed, enjoying her delicious meal and talking to him.

"I know you're in poor health, so you must take good care of yourself in the future," Sean stated after a while.

Actually, Sean didn't know what to say, so he just stood in front of her awkwardly. He was expecting her to cry or maybe scream at him. He was even prepared for her to blame him and throw all sorts of hurtful words towards him. He knew he deserved all of those.

"You can stop this, Sean. Since our marriage is coming to an end, you don't have to pretend to care about me anymore. My health is not of your concern as well. You just need to sit there quietly. As soon as I finish eating, we will go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get the divorce certificates,"

Christina said with a smile. Then she looked down at her food again to continue eating.

At that moment, Linda was standing in the doorway. She admired Christina's poise.

She didn't expect Christina to speak to Sean in such a straightforward manner.

Stunned, Sean had no choice but to hold his tongue and wait for her, his awkward look spreading over his face more and more.

Christina savored the meal slowly as if she were enjoying a beautiful view.

Half an hour later, she finished her meal. A care worker came over and took away the dishes.

Christina frowned when she struggled to sit up on the bed. Linda clearly knew that she had just lost her baby and hadn't recovered yet, so she couldn't get out of bed at all.

To add more to her struggles, the anesthetic effect had already gone and Christina felt a lot of pain.

But she still tried her best to sit up. Linda couldn't just stand and watch her anymore. She hurried over to help her.

"Are you all right, Christina?"

Linda asked softly in her ear.

Her voice was very low so Sean wasn't able to hear what she said even though he was sitting not far away from them.

"I'm fine," Christina tried to reassure her.

"Maybe I can get you a wheelchair, would that be okay?" Linda asked her.

"Sure, that would help a lot," Christina tried to smile at Linda.

Linda asked Christina to sit on the bed for a while. Then, she went to the doorway and asked Charles to fetch a wheelchair. When he came back, they helped Christina transfer on the wheelchair, which was then pushed by Linda.

Sean seemed to be hostile towards Linda.

However, Linda didn't care because for her, Sean was just ridiculous.

'Sean's affair had nothing to do with me. Was it my fault

ou think about it," Christina responded.

Sean hesitated for a moment before he stammered to say, "I really think that it would be best for you to have an abortion... I'm going to leave SH City in a while... And I wouldn't be able to take care of you. If you give birth to the baby, you will be a single mother..."

It took Christina a few seconds before she could respond.

"How can you be so cruel to our child? Don't you remember that it's difficult for me to get pregnant? If I have an abortion this time, I'll probably never have a child,"

Christina said in a trembling voice. She was trying really hard not to lose her temper.

But Sean's ruthlessness was making it difficult for her.

"You misunderstood me. I'm really concerned about you. If that hadn't happened... I would have cherished our child. What I said was entirely for your sake," Sean quickly defended as he looked at her with innocent eyes.

"For my sake?" Christina sneered.

She felt disappointed. It wasn't until that day that she knew what Sean really thought.

"Sean, you can go now. Stay as far away from me as possible, the farther, the better. I don't ever want to see you again,"

Christina stated as cold as she could while she waved Sean away.

"Please think about what I said. Anyway, you're the eldest daughter of the Mu Clan. Even if you have no child yourself, it doesn't matter. If you really want someone to accompany you when you get old, you can adopt a child," Sean kept on talking as Christina and Linda were walking away.

However, his words did not sit well with Linda. She couldn't help but pick up a broom placed nearby and threw it at him.

"Do you even have a conscience, Sean?!" she screamed at him, with all the anger pent up inside of her.
