Chapter 896 At Wit's End

After Sean and Hebe came back to the police station. Hebe brought a lunch box into Sean's office. "Leave it there. I don't feel like eating right now," Sean said softly.

Watching Sean at his wit's end, struggling with the situation, Hebe felt helpless. She didn't know how to console him.

After all, she was the other woman in his marriage. It didn't really matter what she said.

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

Sean panicked as he saw Hebe crying.

He walked up to her, took her face in his hands, and wiped her tears off. "What's wrong, Hebe? Please don't cry. Please," he said consolingly.

"Nothing. I'm fine,"

Hebe replied, shaking her head, but the tears just wouldn't stop.

"Nothing? Then why are you crying? I know you are upset, Hebe. Your eyes are as red as a rabbit's," Sean sighed.

He really didn't know what to do or what to say at the moment, for one was his wife, who had been married to him for a very long time and who he owed a debt of gratitude, and the other was his soulmate and the love of his life.

Sean didn't even know why he loved Hebe so much. She was not pretty or special, still he loved her with his heart and soul and he believed that he had found his true love with her.

"Don't worry. I'm fine! Listen Sean, please don't divorce your wife because of me. The Mu Clan is a very powerful one. If you get divorced, your career will definitely go downhill. The loss would outweigh the gain and I don't want that for you,"

Hebe said bitterly.

"Honey, what are you talking about? I love you and I want to be with you! I will tell my wife soon. She's a smart woman and she will understand. Don't worry. I don't want anything as long as they let me go. I just want to be with you!

And I promise there will be a future for us," Sean said.

"Okay. And you can rest assured that our son is very well. You don't have to worry about him,"

Hebe said, relieved, and rested her head on his shoulder.

"Great! Tell me if you need any more money. I'll do anything for our son," Sean smiled.

"You know, my husband has

ried had been a knot tied in his heart. It hadn't been undone till he had slept with Hebe.

And Hebe had become pregnant after that one night of sex.

The result of the mistake had gone on since then.

Sean and his wife had been married for a year and had been trying to have a baby but hadn't succeeded.

So the baby in Hebe's womb, who was already about four years old now, had become the hope of Sean's life. To conceal the truth, Hebe got married to another man when she had been just a month into her pregnancy.

But her marriage was only a show, a mock marriage. Hebe didn't love her husband at all.

Of course, nobody else in the Bureau knew about this other than Sean and Hebe themselves. All these years, Hebe had been trying to persuade Sean to divorce his wife. But Sean relied on the Mu Clan to survive and it was too difficult for him to leave.

Linda had gone back home. Now she waited for Charles to come home. She had no idea how to deal with it.

Should she tell the truth? If she told Charles's sister everything that she had seen and known, she would definitely divorce her husband. Having an affair was intolerable in a marriage.

But Linda had never met Charles's sister before. It wasn't appropriate to tell someone you met for the first time that her husband was cheating on her.

And now, Linda was at her wit's end, with no solution in sight.
