Chapter 790 Stalker

"My Lady, I really envy these fish. They can live this long even without food. We human beings can't survive without food for even a few days!"

Bun marveled as she watched the koi fish gathering happily for the food.

Linda tapped Bun on the forehead and asked, "Why are you making such a strange comment all of a sudden?"

Shaking her head, Bun smiled and said, "Nothing. I just think life is very tough for human beings sometimes.

There are too many conflicts and betrayal among people. It's hard to understand each other and develop mutual trust. Don't you think so?"

Linda was about to reply when a servant walked up to them.

Linda immediately recognized him as one of Lenny's servants.

'Doesn't this man work for Lenny? What does he want?' she wondered.

Ever since she moved back to the Nalan Clan's residence, Lenny had been cold to her. He'd never taken the initiative to greet her except for the time when Charles had come.

It surprised her that he had sent a servant to talk to her now.

"His Lordship has asked you to come and see him. Hurry up! Don't make him wait too long for you," said the servant rudely. He didn't even look at Linda's face while he spoke, and a dash of contempt and impatience was obvious in his eyes.

'It's true that like attracts like. This servant has the same personality as Lenny Nalan. He doesn't even show the slightest respect for me, ' thought Linda.

"Hey! Who do you think you are? Why are you being so rude to Lady Linda?" Bun yelled at the servant. His attitude was getting on her nerves. He hadn't even shown respect and addressed Linda properly.

"I've already passed on His Lordship's words. Just tell your Lady Linda to come as soon as possible. If she keeps delaying, I won't take responsibility for it. You can face the consequences yourself!" the servant said to Bun. After finishing his words, he turned around to leave, but Bun grabbed hold of his arm and violently dragged him back.

"Kneel down," Linda ordered abruptly.

The servant was stunned by Linda's words. He stood still in bewilderment.

"Didn't you hear me?" Linda asked, glaring at him.

Hearing no response from the servant, she signaled to Bun with her eyes. Bun understood what Linda meant and immediately kicked the back of the servant's knee.

Abruptly losing his balance, the servant dropped to his knees. His knees hit the hard concrete floor so heavily that pain shot through his body.

"What do you mean by doing this, Lady Linda? I've merely passed on His Lordship's words. Why are you getting angry with me?" the servant protested. He made an attempt to get up but Bun stopped him by pressing a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm giving you one minute to think about the way you ought to talk to

it now," replied Anna.

Linda nodded and began to walk back to the Linda's Garden with Bun.

She was leaving the Plum Garden in haste so that she could avoid meeting Lenny here. He would definitely get angry when he came here and found that Linda had already left.

Holding the bag of fish food in her hands, Anna walked toward the warehouse. There had originally been half a kilo of fish food in the bag, but Linda had used about one-third of it. It was actually only a small amount but there had been very few koi fish in the pond, and most of them had been small. The food they had eaten just now was enough for them to survive for another few months.

All of a sudden, Anna's phone rang.

She held the bag with one hand and took out her phone with the other.

When she looked at the phone screen, she furrowed her eyebrows after seeing the name "Stalker". That was the name she had saved Becker's number under in her contacts.

She wanted to reject the call but pressed the answer button instead out of habit.

"What now?" she asked in an annoyed tone.

"Anna, you wound me. Please be nicer to me," Becker's attractive voice came from the other end of the line.

"How am I not nice to you? I'm already tolerant enough!" Anna snapped. She couldn't figure out why she always easily lost her temper toward Becker, like a spoiled girlfriend arguing with her boyfriend.

It worried her.

Anna wasn't the type of person who would usually show her true emotions to other people. But every time she talked to Becker, she would completely drop her pretense and show her true colors to him. She was slowly lowering her guard without even realizing it.

She felt frightened by the change Becker was causing in her, but at the same time, she couldn't help but want to hear his voice. Her heart was full of mixed feelings.
