Chapter 691 I'll Reward You In The Future

In the Rosy's Garden

Jessie swiftly walked into the garden and headed toward Rosy's room.

She was familiar with every road and every corner in this large house, so she was walking as quickly and easily as she would in her own house. But of course, Jessie knew that this place would never belong to her and that she would never be a part of this family.

In fact, there were times when Jessie felt that there was a huge gap between her and Rosy in terms of wealth and status. Rosy was the eldest daughter of the Nalan Clan while Jessie was the daughter of a small company's boss. Her father's company had attached itself to the Nalan Clan's business. Although Jessie was considered a rich lady by most people, her wealth and status paled in comparison with Rosy's.

There were many times when Jessie wondered how she'd become such good friends with Rosy.

But since they were already close friends, Jessie was determined that she wouldn't let anyone hurt Rosy.

Although Rosy could be very ill-tempered, Jessie knew that Rosy was sincere when it came to their friendship, so if anyone tried to hurt Rosy or snatch away her wealth, Jessie would definitely help and protect her.

As Jessie approached the door of Rosy's room, she felt surprised by the lack of noise. Unlike most of the time, there were no smashing or breaking sounds coming from inside the room. Before coming here, she had sensed Rosy's great fury over the phone, so she had naturally assumed that Rosy would be breaking things again like she usually did in a fit of anger.

Jessie remembered how badly Rosy had cursed Linda on the phone call earlier, so she couldn't understand why Rosy was being so quiet now.

She curiously pushed the door and entered the room, but was taken aback as soon as she laid eyes on Rosy. With her eyes widening in shock, she exclaimed, "Oh, my God, Rosy! What happened? Why do you look like this?"

Jessie couldn't believe what she was seeing in front of her.

She wasn't looking at the arrogant and confident upper-class girl that she usually saw. Rosy was still in her pajamas and her hair was disheveled. It seemed that one of her legs was wrapped in a bandage, because there was a bulge under one of the legs of her pajamas.

But the most terrible part was her face, which was completely swollen.

A piece of white gauze was attached to her left cheek, and her lips were red and swollen.

As soon as Rosy saw Jessie, her eyes brimmed with tears and she cried, "Jessie! You came! I... I..."

Jessie hastily went over and pulled Rosy into a delicate hug. She touched her head gently and comforted in a tender voice, "Don't cry. Calm down and tell me what happened."

It had only been two days since the last time they'd met, but a lot seemed to have happened. Rosy looked completely miserable now.

"It must be... Lin...ta, Linda..." Rosy stammered with

we will be the winners."

Lenny's feelings regarding the matter of Lord Nalan's health were complicated.

After all, Lord Nalan was his own father.

Even though Lenny was eager to inherit the Nalan Clan's properties, he had never wanted to hurt his father.

However, since Rosy had already taken the liberty of harming Lord Nalan, Lenny had no choice but to support his daughter and leave the mistake uncorrected. He only hoped that Lord Nalan would die as soon as possible so that the situation would be more advantageous to them.

Before Linda showed up and came into their life, Lenny had been certain that most of the Nalan Clan's properties would be inherited by him, even though Lord Nalan had always been strict with him back then.

His younger brother, Felix, had never been a threat to him.

Lenny had an advantage because his son and daughter were the eldest in the family. Unfortunately, everything had changed after Linda was found and brought back to the Nalan Clan. Lord Nalan had favored Linda so much that he'd wanted to give her a large portion of the family assets. Linda had become a great threat to Lenny.

Lenny shifted his gaze to Jessie. He was angry with her because he knew that she was the mastermind behind the scheme to harm Lord Nalan. On the other hand, he was glad that Rosy had a friend like Jessie who was loyal to her and tried to help her all the time. After all, Jessie was much smarter and more composed than his daughter.

"Jessie," Lenny called.

"Yes, Uncle Lenny," replied Jessie. She wasn't scared of Lenny because she knew that they were all in the same boat.

Obviously, Lenny already knew what they had done to Lord Nalan, but he wasn't blaming them for it because he knew that they had no other option.

"Please try your best to help Rosy. I'll reward you for everything you have done for us in the future," Lenny said, staring intently at Jessie.
