Chapter 537 Forensic Test for Blood

The problem was that the situation was different now. Linda would never let Vincent off again, but she was wondering how to deal with Lisa. Although she wanted Lisa to pay for her crimes as well, Lisa was carrying Robert's baby now. It was a tricky situation and she couldn't make up her mind about it, because she was afraid that whatever she did, she would end up hurting Robert somehow.

"Congratulations! You have a handsome baby boy and a beautiful baby girl," Robert said, handing two small red bags to Bun. "I brought some gifts for the babies. I know I'm supposed to bring them something more decent, but I was in a rush after seeing the news today. These are just to show my best wishes. I'll bring them something more thoughtful and meaningful next time."

"Thank you. It's very nice of you," said Linda with a smile, and then she gestured for Bun to get a chair for Robert so that he could sit and chat with her.

Linda was sure that bringing the babies gifts wasn't the only reason Robert had come to visit her today. She could tell from the solemn look on his face that there was something else bothering him.

"Robert, we've known each other for a long time. You can be totally honest with me. Is there something that you particularly want to talk about?" asked Linda directly.

Robert was stunned that Linda had come straight to the point. She was right. There was no need to beat around the bush. He said with a sigh,"Linda, you always see right through me. You're right, I should be straightforward with you. I've come to ask you for a favor."

"Is something wrong? How can I help?"

Said Linda with concern. She'd always thought that Robert was a good man, so she was ready to offer him any help she could.

"I want to conduct an investigation for a case, but I'll need the Mu clan's resources."

"What do you want to investigate?" asked Linda curiously.

"One of my housemaids, Alice Mei, has been missing for nearly three weeks. I'm afraid that something bad had happened to her. She left quite abruptly, and what's more, right before she left, there was a quarrel..." Robert trailed off. He wasn't sure whether he could tell Linda the whole story. He'd always thought that family quarrels should be settled behind closed doors, so he felt a little awkward and ashamed to tell Linda the details.

"So, you want to find out the reason she left?" Linda wasn't sure what Robert really wanted her to do.

Robert sighed.

He realized that if he really wanted Linda to help him find out the truth, he would need to tell her the whole story. Hiding it from Linda wouldn't help the case.

"Alice Mei has been our housemaid for several decades. She is an honest woman. One day, s

hen she heard about her mysterious disappearance from Robert. Bun's report just confirmed her conjecture.

"Robert, what are you going to do now?" Linda asked after pondering for several seconds. She knew that Robert must have realized that something bad had happened to Alice.

"I don't know. I'm thinking about whether I should keep digging this up,"

Said Robert, frowning. He felt really bad right now. It seemed that all this time, he had been denying the truth. And since Robert had sensed that something bad had happened to Alice, Linda thought that it was only a matter of time before he found out about the fake Adam. Linda wanted to tell him the truth, but looking at the disappointed and frustrated look on his face, she thought that it would be too cruel to tell him right now. He might not be able to bear the fact that his beloved brother had been dead for a while, and the fake Adam was actually the devil who had killed him.

Since Robert was one of her dearest friends, Linda didn't want to drop a bomb on him. She wanted to find a better way to tell him the truth.

Now the priority was to confirm whether Alice had been killed.

"Robert, your major was Chemistry at the university as well. You should know that even if someone has wiped away blood with water, there is still a way to identify the crime scene. I know that you're wondering if Alice had been killed by someone at your house. You can easily use luminol reagent to find out," suggested Linda.

She was right. Being a Chemistry majored student, Robert knew well about luminol reagent. Luminol reagent was a reagent mixed with luminol and hydrogen oxide.

This reagent was generally used by policemen to identify crime scenes where the blood had been wiped away carefully. It was a quick forensic test for blood.
