150 Don't Worry, I Can Never Get Drank

"What are you thinking so deeply?" Alissa asked.

When the day ended and she finally got home, she found Amber sitting by the window watching the cars below with a glass of wine in her hand.

"Alissa," Amber started before looking at her who just seated opposite her.

"Hmm?"

"No, t's nothing. How was your day?" She asked instead.

Alissa furrowed her brows but chose not to ask.

"Well, that Josh I talked with you last week, he was a complete handful. I still dodge his invites but he just kept asking and asking," Alissa sighed as she said this.

"Why not just tell him straight that you don't want anything to do with going out with him? That you just wanted to do your job?" Amber asked.

"Don't get me started, he almost gave up after the third day but then someone realised who I was and from then he started becoming even more aggressive," she was also getting tired of that.

"Aggressive in what way?" Amber asked again.

"Aggressive in a way that, there are some sentences where I already felt offended."

(Flashback)

"Come on Alice, let's go out. Wouldn't it be fun to… you know just go with the flow?"

"Josh, my name is Alissa, I am not in the runway. So I am not Alice," she patiently explained.

"Well no matter what your name is, go out with me," he flashed his most charming smile.

"Look, I am here to work and not to play around, if you'll excuse me I still have a live broadcast to go to. And it's about to start in thirty minutes," Alissa replied instead.

It was just more than a week when she came but she was already able to handle a few things on her own. And one of it was recording of the live broadcasts. Though if there is trouble regarding some technicalities, she still needs to call for her senior to help her.

"Say Alice, how many have you tried already? Models have such side right?" Josh who still didn't want to give up came close and whispered to her.

Alissa raised an eyebrow as she glared at him.

Not everyone in the entertainment world has such background, how dare this man speak of such words as if it's normal.

Josh raised both his hands and smiled, "I'm joking, I'm joking."

(End Of Flashback)

"And, still going on despite your warnings?" Amber asked upon hearing it.

"Yup, still going on. I even found him with his friends in one of my runway shoot during the weekend. I felt goose bumps somehow," Alissa said.

This was the first time she spoke so much of her time after a days work. When she was with Hayley, mostly it was all about Hayley and Mark and she can only nod in agreement or exclaim when Hayley was excited.

But with Amber, she can somehow bring everything out without being embarrassed by any of it.

"Can you still handle him?"

"Of course I do," Alissa replied with a smile.

"Don't worry I can still handle it, plus…"

(Flashback)

One time when they were in taping, Josh was the audio man while she was handling the video system, their sits were beside each other and she can see that Josh was inappropriately coming closer.

"I see that there seems to really be no problem here," Timothy's voice suddenly came from behind them.

Both of them even the director and prompter operator were shock.

"Keep going, I am just here to check things out," he said as he remained standing behind her chair.

Somehow because of his presence Josh became as quiet as possible and his focus was in his mixer.

When the taping ended, all of them returned to their own stations and Timothy followed them.

"I'm having some inspections so carry on with your works," was what he said.

He only left when Alissa was already seated on her chair and was surrounded by her seniors, during those times that she was with them, Josh stayed away from her.

(End Of Flashback)

"Plus?" Amber asked when Alissa didn't continue.

"No it's nothing. I can manage it don't worry," Alissa answered with a smile.

'Maybe that's his way of keeping his promise to Amber, of watching over me,' she thought.

For after that time, Timothy would only inspect when she and Josh were the ones in tandem.

"As long as you are safe then that's good," Amber smiled as she dawned the remaining wine in her glass.

*****

Timothy was in the study room of his apartment when he heard the doorbell rang.

"Let's drink," Amber smiled as she raised a bucket in front of him.

He just stared at her while both of them stood still by the door.

"Is this woman serious? She has a fiancé and she was inviting another man for a drink? What's more, in his very own home? That must be what you are thinking now right?" she asked with a smile.

Timothy just raised an eyebrow.

"Don't worry, Ash knows about this and I am telling you, I just came here to have a chat," she then said before pushing him inside.

Timothy could only shake his head before following her in.

Amber was not shy at all, she was already sitting at the highchair in the kitchen counter.

"What are you still standing there? Come on and have a sit," she called out to him as she pat the chair beside her.

"What do you want?" he asked but he still sat down.

"I just want to talk," she said opening two bottles before handing him one.

"Just don't go making a mess when you get drank," Timothy accepted it.

"Don't worry I can never get drank," she scoffed upon saying this.

Timothy furrowed his brows.

"I have been meaning to ask this, that time when we just arrived, that was a strong impact but I didn't even see you shout in pain, even when the medicine was given to you, you look like you don't need it. And now this…"

Amber thought for a bit before drinking.

Timothy seeing this didn't probe and just drank from his own bottle.

Both sat silently for a good while.

It was only after Amber halved her third bottle did she start talking.

"I still am very much clear headed," she began.

Timothy just looked at her.

"I already told you back then that I hate hospitals, it was because of my childhood that was filled with hospitals, medicines and everything."

Amber sighed as she smiled, "After that sickness, I lost the ability to feel pain. And because of the cure I became half immune to medicines, poisons and even this…"

She shook the bottle as she said with a defeated smile.

Timothy could only clear his throat upon hearing this, he has no words for it.

"And why are you really here? What do you want to talk about? Could it be about miss Coleman?" he decided to ask instead.

"Why would I talk about her? Is there a problem?" she asked in return.

"I don't know you tell me," he replied.

"No, Alissa is a strong person. If something is wrong she will find way to fight back- Ah, but you have to be ready, for she might wreck havoc while still being new in your company," she warned with a smile.

"Hmmm, we'll see when we get there," he answered as he drank more from his bottle.

Amber chuckled as she too drinks.

"How long has it been since Lie Broadcasting was established? Wait, what does Lie mean? Does that mean your company lies?"

"What question do you really want me to answer?" Timothy asked.

Amber laughs, "The first question, if you can't answer the second and third then it is fine."

"It was about 7 years now."

She nodded, "Have you faced a lot of internal difficulties?"

Timothy looked at her but she was staring at her own bottle.

"I have a lot of times, especially the starting years."

Amber sighed, "Mine was about four years now but it was so smooth sailing that I have completely forgotten, that there could also be a time where internal problems will arise."

"Capa is around two years younger than SNN?" he asked.

Amber nodded, "I was thinking if it would be rushed back then but I felt like I need to start it already and so I did."

"And what is your problem now?"

"There are three people who started it for me, I was only the brain and the funder."

She propped her head on her hand as she faced him, "Is it right for me to discipline them? When they were the ones who got tired of starting it and establishing it?"

Timothy shook his head and dawned the remaining contents of his bottle.

"They were the body but you were the brain, in the end the body won't function properly if there is no brain."
