Chapter 404 - 404 An Explosion

Ketan followed Kitty and sat on the edge of the water. 

Kitty finally lifted her head up. "Why won't you, let me wallow in my sadness?" Kitty looked at Ketan with tears in her eyes. 

"If I left you alone, do you think that my mother would let me off the hook. I am supposed to be the one that watches over you. Kitsune, you really won't tell me what is going to happen will you?" Ketan sat on the ground watching her. "In all the years that you have been close to my family, this is the first time you have refused my request." 

"I-I can't say this. I just cannot say it. Ahriman, how can I say what I saw? It will only cause suffering and regret." Kitty lifted her head and her tears were silver in colour. 

Ketan stepped onto the water. He wiped her tears away. "As your friend, I want to tell you not to worry. As your guardian, I want to end your suffering and as your family, I want to solve the problem. I get the feeling that it has to do with Sylvie and that is why you will not say." He caught a few teardrops and showed her the colour. "You need to calm down before you change the weather here." 

Kitty tried to stop crying at his words. "I saw a lot of death, Ketan. There are a few that we will not be able to stop and that is why I dropped the dream. We cannot make those around us choose but it was not Sylvie that I saw at least not this time. Go back to Leo and the others. I will be safe here." 

Ketan bowed to Kitty and left her to be on her own. He appeared back in the office. "Leo, she has stopped crying. There is some small war that's going to happen and there is nothing that can be done to stop it. She will not say who she saw die but I know that it is not my sister and it can not be one of us that is cursed. Brielle, you must promise that if something comes up with work here that you do not take part in a large scale operat..."

"That must be it!" Leo hit his hands on the desk. "Thank you, Ketan. You got me just enough information." He quickly pulls out his keyboard and starts to click away at the keys. He watches the surveillance tapes and sees that there are less than normal numbers watching Valdis and then there is an explosion.

Leo looks around the room and sees that Charlette is safe and being protected by Jenna. "I got her Leo. The baby is innocent and is your daughter." 

Ketan was protecting Brielle. "Is everyone okay? What the f.u.c.k just happened?" 

~It is as the dream foretold. Only it was a little late.~ Kitty's voice rang in everyone's head. ~I will do what I am meant to.~ Kitty's voice cuts off and she leaves her hideout and goes to the site. 

Rex looks up at Kitty. "Kitten, you can not be here." He holds out his hand to her. 

"It is time for you to give me the strength to hold on. You are finally able to move on now, Berith." Kitty sheds some silver tears and they touch Rex's arm.

"Ah, so it is time. Then you know what to do Kitten. Take me to the water and let my soul rest eternally and let my last wish, which is to be able to protect you while you will be living there." Rex embraced Kitty. "Kitten, do not mourn my loss. I have been alive for longer than most beings living to this day." 

"I understand Berith, I will wait for others to see me take you away before I take you to your final resting place. The world will mourn the loss of you. The original life bearer." Kitty hugged him and touched his arm.

Leo and the other a.d.u.l.ts walked and saw that old man Asurlon was dead and that the hunters that were returning to duty were also dead. Leo rushed to Rex and Kitty. 

"Leo, I am sorry but I will not be able to watch the other side anymore. I will miss you all but my time has finally come. Kitten, take me to my final resting place." Rex touched Kitty's cheek. 

"I am sorry, grandfather, the dream hit too late and I was unable to save anyone that was here." Kitty was crying and she transported Rex back to the pond.

Leo ran to the prison cell and cursed them and started to check for survivors. He found two hunters injured badly but alive. "Once you are healed please tell me everything that you saw." 

The hunter looked up and Leo and smiled, "I will tell you everything but my f.u.c.k.i.n.g god this is painful. If Rex did not protect me and Berry we would've been toast." 

Ketan walked over and cut his hand and dripped a few drops of blood on the worst wound. The wound healed as if it never happened in the first place. "I do not normally heal this way as sometimes the human body will reject the blood but on the plus side I can tell that he is compatible." 

"It no longer hurts. Thank you so much." He bowed to Ketan. "I am Daniel and I thank you for sparing me from the pain. Leo, it was Steve. After he heard what you were planning he left and placed explosives at the door and detonated them. I was following him and Rex took the brunt of it to keep Berry and me alive. I was surprised that he was still able to talk after taking that hit."

"Yes, I guess it would come as a shock to a human. I am sorry but Rex is a supernatural and he swore to help me. I wonder if he was the reason Kitty's dream was delayed." Leo looked at Berry and then back to Daniel. "Can we take these two to the medical ward and get them assessed? Let's look for other survivors."
