Chapter 88 87 Overspending

Name:Unknown Prey Author:Shirokitsune
"Yes, I need to sketch out a rough draft. Could I borrow some art supplies from you? Leo has to head back now. I thought it would be a good idea if he came and said goodbye before leaving. As for the baby clothes, I was thinking of washing them when the dresser arrives. It seems that I forgot to pick one out. That way we don't have to wash it twice. Not that I am calling this place dirty it's just that I am being cautious." She walks over to the crib and smiles at how well it looks. 'Slowly this is going to feel like home.'

"It's already that time of the day? That is really too bad. I will let you use whatever you need to use. Just let me know what you will need." Luke walked over to Leo who was still at the door. He grabs his arm and drags him from the room and walks down to his room. Luke doesn't talk until they reach his room. "I know that it is because of your job that you have to leave. Is there something I should watch out for? I am concerned that Kitty is a bit stressed out…..or am I over thinking things?"

The girls watch Luke drag Leo away and they both giggle. "Kitty, you have got quite the family now. I am happy for you. This is what Julie would want for you. Anyone in the clan wants for you to have a loving happy family and I can see that being built here. I know that you are still sad but I will be with you every step of the way."

"Thank you, Cindy. I really hope the Julie and the others who stay do not suffer for too long. It would hurt me to know that they suffered while I am building my new life with the love of my life." A tear slides down her cheek as she looks at the items in the crib.

"Yes, I need you to keep a close eye on her over the next two days. Do not let her be alone for too long. I do not know how to explain things to you at this time but she is suffering from extreme sadness. If anything does happen you are to call me right away. No matter how late it is. I also know that the full moon is upon us. Just bad timing all around." Leo picks up a notebook and flips to a blank page. He picks up a pencil and writes down the information for himself, John and also the website for the baby store they went into. He tore the page out and folded it. Leo opens the door and walks back to the nursery. He opens the door and looks at Kitty. He sees her tears and walks over to Kitty. "Don't cry, love. I know that this is rather difficult for you." He wipes the tears that were falling down her cheeks.

"Yes, I understand," Luke says this then follows him out of the room and stays quiet. He sees the tears running down Kitty's cheeks and he starts to feel sad. 'I wonder if there is anything I could say that could take her mind off of the sadness she feeling?' He thinks for a moment. "Can I tell you why Leo put a cap on how much I can spend?" He walks over to the group. "When I was younger I didn't know anything about money. Leo took me to an art store and let me pick out all sorts of art supplies. I kept grabbing anything and everything I could. I didn't know that it had to be paid for or even that it cost so much. I was only five years old at the time. That was the first and last time Leo took me shopping without a price cap. Leo taught me a lot of things and I am forever grateful that he adopted me."

Kitty looked from Leo to Luke. 'I now understand the reasoning behind the spending cap.' Her tears finally stop flowing. "How much did you wind up spending?"

"When we were finally done in the art store I spent close to two thousand dollars. I still had to buy him clothes and such as well. So we had gone to a clothing store next. I learned my lesson the first time so I had to break it down for him to understand but also, that was when I passed the knowledge that everything in a store has a price. I told him not to grab too much as he was still growing and he wouldn't be able to wear the clothes for too terribly long." Leo holds out the piece of paper for her to take.

"I remember being horrified at how much things cost but Leo did teach me what necessary to know. I'm a lot better than I used to be but I still have a tendency to go a little overboard." Luke shrugs his shoulders and looks away bashfully.

Cindy starts chuckling. "If Leo was like this with his adopted son I can only imagine what will happen when the baby is born. I think it will be adorable. I think it will be worse if you two have a girl."

"No wonder you have a spending cap. At least you make an allowance now. So you can spend that money on something you really want. Thank you for sharing that story, Luke. Do you think you would tell me more stories of your past with Leo?" She takes the paper and opens it up. "After you leave I will do the sketch." She takes his hand begins to walk to the door.

The two walked down to the door in silence. Leo was the one who broke the silence. "I will be back in about three days but if I can get away earlier I will do so. It is hard to leave you now that I had just gotten you back. Please, call me if anything happens. I do not want to find out about something happening while I am away when I come back home." He hugs her gently and then kneeled down and kissed her belly. "My little one I will be back soon, so keep your mother company while I am away."

Cindy and Luke were at the top of the stairs. Luke went to the middle of the stairwell and sat down. "Have a safe trip, Leo. See you when you return."

Cindy stayed at the top of the stairs. 'I am glad that they found each other again.' She looks down and says, "I will help look after Kitty and the baby. Please have a safe trip."

Leo stands back up, kisses the top of her head and then waves at the two on the stairs. "I'll be back as soon as possible. Take care." He leaves the house and heads back to the van. He gets in the van and slowly leaves the property. 'I should have just changed my flight plan but then it would still be suspicious. Fuck the headquarters.'

Kitty watches Leo leave and turns around. "Luke, can you lend me the art supplies now? I will need a set of art pencils and paper." She walks up to the stairs to where Luke was seated.

"Of course. It might also be a wise choice if we pull out the laptop and order the rest of the baby items while it is fresh in your mind. We can meet in the dining room. That way we have a table to work with. Cindy do you have an artistic side to yourself?" Luke looked up at Cindy.
