Chapter 112 - Hateful Speech

Name:Uchiha's Butterfly Author:dahnik
Mabui calmly leaned on the window's frame, enjoying the sunny day over the Kumogakure. Presently she watched two swallows dancing around each other below her window. Instantly, her kunoichi experience commanded her to leap back. Trained to trust her guts, the dark-skinned woman dodged just in time to watch the wall collapse and a heavy oak desk flying off in the distance.

Once the dust fell, Mabui walked to the edge and glared indignantly at her neighbor from upstairs. A, the Raikage of Kumogakure, was still huffing through his anger-clenched teeth.

'I guess the custom made desk was too hard to destroy, so he sent it flying, with a wall as the collateral damage…' the secretary massaged her forehead. Taking hold of a notebook, Mabui turned on her heel and walked to the destroyed office above her's.

"I hope you understand that the desk you just wiped out had a net worth of S-rank mission, Raikage-sama." She greeted her boss, "Is it necessary for me to know what happened?"

"Kaname Uchiha!" A growled out, "What else?!"

Mabui noted it, "So what did she do this time?"

"My spy reported an attempt to invade Konoha. Many people saw That woman using a variation of Hiraishin…" the tiles under Raikage's feet broke apart, "I doubt old Hiruzen has any reasons not to appoint her as the next Hokage now."

"And you think that Kaname-san will pull the world into another bloodbath?"

"What else?! They switched their alliance from Suna to Mizugakure. With those pirates, they can easily invade us by sea. We don't have many fortifications along the coast. Their armies will overrun us."

"You know what, Raikage-sama? After your last outburst, I carried out a screening of Kaname-san. From what our spies know, she isn't that bad of a person. She is detested by a sizable portion of Konoha civilians by protecting the jinchūriki of Nine-Tails. Instead, she is very well-liked by the shinobi population."

"That doesn't-"

"SHE experienced the chaos of war when she was only a small child. I'm sure she hates it more than you ever will, Raikage-sama."

"I won't change my mind, I will never trust someone that was taught that man, especially an Uchiha!"

"Not that I expected it out of you, Raikage-sama. What do you want me to do?"

"..." The burly man grumbled, "Send a message to The Fence-sitter, Kumogakure will upgrade that woman's status."

Mabui nodded, noting it out, "Upgrade to what, Raikage-sama?"

"Hmm?... To Flee-on-sight. I fought against Minato once, if she mastered her custom Hiraishin, then sending my shinobi's after that woman is pointless."

"Huhuhu, the fourth time in the history of Konoha?"

"Yes. Konoha always was a lair of monsters, first those two - Hashirama and Madara, then Minato…"

"Raikage-sama, what about your father? Sandaime-sama was never hurt by anybody but by his own hand? There is a reason Kumo is a rival to Konoha…" she replied, "Just for reference, Raikage-sama, experiencing it from first hand, how would you fight against a Hiraishin user?"

"To a fight? To hunt her down, I would have to send an army to tire that woman out. After a bloodbath, elite jonins would join the fight. Maybe one would be lucky enough to score a hit."

Mabui smiled, pleasantly surprised, "So you won't hunt Kaname-san down anymore. I see."

"Why do I feel you're cheering for that woman?"

She blushed at the accusation, "A first woman with a 'Flee-on-sight' directive, it's thrilling to know that a kunoichi can reach such heights. Yes, I'm cheering for Kaname-san, let us call it a woman's intuition, but I think she will be a major player in the future events, Raikage-sama."

"If you meant of her raiding and pillaging our country, then you are most likely right." Raikage grumbled, "Go and send the message to Ōnoki, I need to cool off."

"Not so fast, there is still a topic of you collapsing the building's wall. You caused this disaster, Raikage-sama - I propose you pay for it from your wallet."

-----

"Not that I had any doubts, but you are insane, Kaname-sensei."

"Heh, what do you mean, Izumi-chan?" Utakata pushed Kaname's wheelchair outside the hospital. "My family always takes a priority - I don't care about other people as long as my family is happy." Kaname continued to play with babies sitting on her ŀȧp.

"Other? Try several thousands other people. If I knew that entire Konoha population was waiting for your ȧss, I would have brought you out myself." Izumi shot back.

"Meh, I don't care. Jiji wanted to make me a Hokage, not my fault he invited the entire village to come out for a grand ȧssembly without previously giving me the notice of it."

"So it's a prank aimed at Hokage, again?"

"Izumi-chan… It's only beginning." Kaname smiled sinisterly.

"Heh. Kana-chan, just a question, why do I need to push you all the way to the Jōnin's Headquarters if you can teleport us there?"

Kaname winked playfully, "I thought you liked pushing and pulling, Utakata?" Her boyfriend spluttered at her words.

"Only with you. But, Kana-chan, I thought you were too shy for that?" "How the fuċk the topic degenerated into a sėxuȧŀ innuendo?" Izumi deadpanned.

"Time for hiding is gone, Utakata. Now we need to shine."

"We?"

"Yep, I need your help. I want us both to shine so brightly that our enemies' eyes will melt - that way, most of them maybe will overlook those two rascals." She patted Haru's and Kushina's heads.

"Okay, what are you planning this time?" he asked back.

"Hehe, making myself lots of enemies, that won't have to think twice to sell out my location."

"I don't like the sound of that…" Utakata gasped.

"It will be a lot of fun. Let's go!"

----

"Hmm, Kana-chan, I see you took an example from your dear Senpai." A silver-haired jōnin greeted the group.

"Kiss my ȧss, Doofus-kun. Uh-?" Kaname was glomped into a tight hug, "Huh, Minato-san?"

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." The blonde repeated happily.

"... You're welcome?"

"Naruto-kun described his entire life. Without you, he would… Gods, Kushi-chan was right. Appointing you as his adoptive parent was the best decision we made in our life. I'll always be in your debt."

"Minato-sensei, about that. I'm sorry."

"Kakashi-kun? Why are you apologizing?"

"I should have put more effort into teaching Naruto-kun," Kakashi replied.

"But you're his jōnin-sensei, right?"

"Yes, it's because Kana-chan intervened. Truth to be told, I did not talk to your son until he was about seven."

"Hmm..." Minato's eyes turned to Kaname. She smirked and shrugged her shoulders, "We will talk about that later, Kakashi-kun."

"Kana-chan!" The eldest Hokage called out after her with two of his predecessors standing at his side. "What took you so long? It's time to uncover Minato's last will."

"We don't need it, Jiji." Kaname pointed her thumb at the blonde Hokage.

"Hoho, true, but you should be the one to uncover Naruto's true parentage. Why did you make us wait for two hours?"

"I was sleeping." Kaname dodged the question.

"Huh?"

"Let's just do this, Jiji."

"Ugh... You're planning something," he grumbled.

"Hehe, that's just your imagination." she chuckled.

"Isn't she just like Mito-chan, Tobirama?" The first Hokage whispered into his younger brother's ear.

"... Don't make me relive my memories with Gorilla-aneue, Hashirama."

"Muhaha, she would kick your arse if she heard you call her that again, Tobirama."

"Haah... It's time. The civilians need to know what happened that memorable night." The current village's leader ordered, leaving the room.

-----

Kaname leaned on Utakata's shoulder, overlooking the seemingly entire population of Konoha buzzing around in restlessness gathered in front of the village's distinct mountain. The Fourth Hokage was a symbol to the civilians, a hero that they were accustomed to love. A man that sacrificed his life sealing a Nine-Tailed fox and saving them from a fiery death. None understood why his last words were kept hidden for fourteen years, but all came to hear them from the old Hokage.

Sarutobi walked up onto a podium, clearing his throat, he began his speech. "People of the Konoha, today, we celebrate another victory against a disaster that threatened our village. Our shinobi repelled the combined forces of Sunagakure and Otogakure. Despite major infrastructure losses, I did not receive any reports about deaths from our side. The Wheel of History turns, this day is the anniversary of the Kyūbi's attack on our beloved village. Fourteen years ago, my successor, Minato Namikaze, gave up his life to protect Konoha from the Nine-Tailed fox's rage. Now, it's time to explain to you what really happened and why the truth was hidden for so long."

Kaname felt the tension rise in the air, the crowd listened into the wise Hokage's voice.

"More than half of you remember the heart-piercing howls of the fox. But, excluding the high-ranking shinobis and Civilian Council, were not privy to what really happened. There was only one witness that stood at Minato Namikaze's side." His eyes turned to Kaname. Her sadistic smile took his breath away for a second. "I-I present to you, Jōnin Kaname Uchiha."

"Be right back." Kaname winked to her boyfriend and slowly hobbled towards the podium.

"Have fun, Kana-chan."

Once she stood slightly above the mass of people, Kaname's narrowed eyes measured the crowd. The civilian population was clearly scared of her as she heard booings coming from the back row's believing they're safe from her wrath. "I'm not here to preach about family or the other crap in front of a bunch of monsters. If you don't want to believe me, then I don't care. Not even a percentage of you, cretins, know that Minato-san had a wife, a woman named Kushina Uzumaki."

"Umm, Utakata?" Sandaime Hokage called out silently after the jinchūriki, "We agreed on a completely different speech? Do you know what Kana-chan is planning?"

"In her words, she is bombing all of her chances at becoming a Hokage, Sarutobi-sama."

"Ugh, I should have thought of that..." he grumbled, "Kana-chan, keep with the script!"

"Yeah-yeah. That is Minato-san's last wish," Kaname pulled out a folded script, "As you all know, he had an unhealthy fixation upon Konoha's population hidden goodness in their heart, about all of your nobility... Well, for the last fourteen years, I'm still waiting to see any traces of it. All of us shinobis know that you're only mindless opportunists, doing anything you want as long as it's not hurting your own lazy ȧss. Minato-san's last wish shouldn't be presented to a bunch of monsters thinking themselves better than a small boy." Kaname continued, "There are exceptions to that rule, the number of civilians that were good to Naruto-kun can be counted with a single hand, but there are some."

She heard some muttering about a "monster, fox, Yondaime-killer" coming from the crowd, "Exactly! You imbeciles won't ever understand the difference between a gargantuan orange nine-tailed fox and a blonde fourteen years old boy."

----

Inoichi closed his daughter's mouth - a complete jaw-drop doesn't suit a Yamanaka's clan princess face. The platinum-blonde teen pointed her hand at the speaking Uchiha's back after she connected all the dots regarding her childhood friend's true parentage, "Papa? Is Naruto-kun really the son of the Yondaime Hokage?"

"Yes. But I don't agree with Kana-chan's words about the civilians."

"And what's the problem? You did not see how they looked at Naruto-kun."

"Ino-chan, if they knew who he was-"

"So harassing a child is okay?" she shot back.

"Uh, le-let's just listen to what Kana-chan has to say, okay?"

"Minato-san's last wish is not for selfish ȧssholes like you." Ino watched as the beautiful Uchiha lifted the scroll, showing it off to the gathered crowd. In an instant, her hand flashed with red flames, scorching the scroll, producing a long wail coming from the Konoha's population. "Luckily for you, imbeciles, I have something better. Yesterday, the Snake Sannin used a forbidden technique to resurrect the dead Hokages, yeah... Minato-san is back, congrats to you, idiots with ego bloated by harassing his own SON for fourteen years." A round of murmurings traveled across the crowd.

'This is Yondaime Hokage?' Ino blushed when a blonde with long spiky hair walked up the podium stairs. He was clothed in a white coat with red letters on his back, identifying him as the Fourth Hokage. 'I could easily say that it's an older version of Naruto. What the fuċk, how could people not see it? Wait, how did I not see it? The books! Damnit, they always showed the black and white depiction of Yondaime... I was so dumb!'

"My dear Konoha citizens." A manly and confident voice spoke once Kaname took a step to the side, "I'm sorry, I was wrong." he bowed, "I believed in the good in your hearts - my choice despoiled the life of my only child."

"Lies! She made you say those words! Minato-sama we knew-" some civilian shouted out.

'Hmm, we have some brave-shits here...' Ino deadpanned.

"It's not a lie." Minato replied, "I did not want to see it, but Kaname was right. Before my last fight against the Nine-Tailed Fox, I had less than a minute to write my last will. Most of it is for my family's eyes only. Unfortunately, my wife, Kushina, passed with me, as we protected our newborn son from Kyūbi's claw. Despite that, I was sure that Konoha's population would welcome Naruto into their midst, a baby that lost both his parents that dreadful night. I was... saddened by the truth spoken from my son's mouth. I did not expect you to focus all your griefs upon a small boy. I'm sorry for you - only now, after almost one and a half of a decade, you will understand what did you do to a defenseless boy. And I'm truly sorry for my son - I shouldn't ask Hiruzen-sama to hide his parentage. Maybe then, even if he is a vessel to the Kyūbi, he would lead a much easier life."

"Heh, don't worry, Minato-san." Kaname interrupted him, talking loudly into the microphone, "If Sandaime chooses me as his successor, the lives of those pathetic, contemptible, sorry excuses for civilians will become hell."

Ino turned towards the elderly Hokage and saw him sweating profusely, 'Hmm, nicely played, Kaname-sensei. You lied there, but the hate in civilians towards you won't let Hokage-sama appoint you as the next Hokage.'

------

"Nice one, Kana-chan. That's one way to make everyone hate you." Utakata congratulated her with a sneer.

"Thanks, it went exactly as I planned."

"Kaname-chan, just to be sure, would you hurt a civilian?" Minato questioned her.

"Not if he did not strike first, Minato-san. I may have grown up a bit, but I'm still the same Kaname you knew."

"Haah. Good, you seemed more, I don't know, ruthless?"

"Maybe so. I believe you saw me, dealing only with the people that I have a problem with. The experience does that with a person, Minato-san."

"I see." the blonde Hokage nodded.

"Hmm? Naru-kun's and Sasuke-kun's chakra flared. Be right back." Kaname's body disappeared in red flames.

"... I hate when she does that," Utakata grumbled.

"Heh, Utakata, right? I need to talk with my old student, mind a little drink?"

"Boys... What about a female company?" Izumi called out after the two.

-----

"... Okay. I learned not to ȧssume things - can you tell me what happened?"

"I'm sorry, Sis." Naruto laughed, pressing the back of his hand to a black eye.

"I-it was me, Nee-sama. I had to st-stop them." Hinata stuttered.

"Like hell!" Sasuke spat a drop of blood from his mouth. "I was sparing with the Dobe, but the power behind my strikes started going out of my control. There was like a soft whisper in the back of my head that slowly gnawed at my consciousness. Only thanks to Hinata's interrupting, it ended the way it did. I need help, Nee-san, I'm scared of letting myself go."

"Hahaha, but you have to appreciate how Hinata-chan struck us both down in a second, Teme." the Hyūga teen blushed at the compliment.

"Heh, true, but we'll talk about it later, Dobe."

Kaname facepalmed, "What am I going to do with you three. Whatever... Sasuke-kun, shirt off."

"Huh? Here?" he shyly asked back.

Kaname rolled her eyes in irritation, "What? Do you need a bigger audience? I need to check on the Doofus-kun's seal."

Shrugging his shoulders, Sasuke pulled his shirt over his head, making his female teammate turn her head away from him.

"Oh, come on, girl. It's only Sasuke. What would have happened if I asked Naru-kun to take off his shirt, huh?"

"A shirtless Naruto-kun?" Hinata swayed on her legs, her face turned beetroot red.

"Sis, don't play with us!"

"Hinata in a swimsuit!" she shot back and chuckled, watching a rivulet of blood flow down from Naruto's nose.

"You three are impossible..." Kaname turned back to Sasuke, "Use some chakra, I want to observe the seal in action... Hmm, congrats and welcome, Sasuke-chan, you joined the prestigious group of deadman walking."

"Huh?"

"I believe that Naruto told you that I broke through the secrets of Hiraishin seal?"

"Yeah, why?"

"The Snake was craftier than I thought - he created something almost on the same level. The seal will slowly eat at your mind until you join the white shit and his happy band of rapists."

"Ugh. Can you 'break through' this one as well, Nee-san?"

"Hiraishin took me like a decade, Sasuke-chan. Hmm, let me think, there is always a way. I will contact you later. From the good news, I have a cure for your brother's progressing blindness."

"Wait! A what!?"

"Oups, he didn't tell you?"
