Chapter 294 - This Can Go On Forever

Yang Xinyu's operation was over after three hours of surgery. As he was wheeled out of the operation theater, his father could see him through the glass. He walked along till he saw the staff whisking him away to the post operative care.

The doctors came out and filled him with all the reports. The operation was successful, but Yang Xinyu had bled a lot. He had sustained injury in soft tissue. The doctors said that when Yang Xinyu was hit, a security guard had thought that the bullet hit below clavicle, but that wasn't the case. The bullet had grazed his shoulder but the wound deep, as some flesh had been ripped off. They have debrided the damaged tissue and repaired the injury to a large extent. But it will be painful for a long time and would take time to heal.

Yang Xinyu had been given strong sedatives and would stay on antibiotics to prevent the chances of infection. They said that he was lucky that the bullet did not hit anywhere else, or with that kind of high velocity, it could have been fatal.

The mayor nodded and asked the team to shift Yang Xinyu to City H as soon as he stabilized. Then he called Wu Lina.

Wu Lina had calmed down after the sedative that was given to her. She had cried and cried and finally slept after getting emotionally and physically drained. When the mayor called, she woke up with a start and fumbled for her phone. Che Mingliang was standing right besides her attending to her as she recuperated. She handed the phone to Wu Lina.

"Father, how is Yang Xinyu? I want to come there. No, you get him here. No, no, I will come there. Can I speak to him? How was the operation? Father, say something, please," Wu Lina asked him a barrage of questions, fresh tears rolling out of her eyes. She wanted to get up from the bed, but her body was still limp. She did not have the energy to move also.

"Wu Lina, Yang Xinyu is out of the operation theater and is now in the post operative ward. He is out of danger. Thankfully, the bullet had grazed his shoulder." Then he narrated her the reports that the doctors had told him.

"I will be getting him to City H as soon as his condition stabilizes, which may take a day. Currently he is unconsciousness and I am hoping that he regains consciousness by evening. So don't worry, I am here and I will ensure that I get my son back," assured the mayor as he was being driven to the location where the sniper was detained.

Wu Lina felt better and asked Che Mingliang for water. She decided that she would never ever go against Yang Xinyu. She prayed in her heart that he becomes better soon. She wanted to see him so urgently, that it hurt. Quietly she lied back on the bed and looked outside the window of the VIP room that was located on the tenth floor of the hospital. She remembered the days when they had just fallen in love and how she used to find herself in his bed every night without her being conscious about it. 'Get well soon, hubby. I can't stay without you…'

The mayor reached the location in another thirty minutes. It was an old and abandoned warehouse. When he went inside the building, he could hear the screams of the sniper. He went up the stairs to open the door of the room and entered to see the man lying in a pool of blood.

"So who has hired you?" asked the mayor inviting a glance from the sniper.

The sniper looked up and said, "Even I tell you, you will kill me. So why should I tell you?"

"That's right. We will kill you eventually. The difference is that if you will not tell us, we will continue this torture for a long time, however, if you will tell us, we will kill you immediately. It will be less painful. And let me also point out one thing to you – all these men out here are ruthless warriors. They will shred you and yet keep you alive just so that you bear the pain. The choice is yours," said Yang Min-Chang very coldly.

The sniper lowered his head and stayed silent. Yang Min-Chang looked at his man who had a whip in his hand and signaled him to hit. As soon as the whip came on his back, the sniper yelped in pain.

"I am loving it when I hear you shouting. It calms my nerves. So this can go on forever…" said the mayor while taking a chair and sitting right in front of him.

Still reluctant to speak up, the sniper laughed.

Yang Min-Chang gestured his man to start extracting the teeth of the sniper.

He kept the plier carefully on the table and picked up the hammer. He smiled and came near the sniper. A man held the sniper's head from behind and another opened his jaw. The sniper's eyes became wide when he saw what was about to happen, and he shouted, "Okay, I will give you the name. Stop it!"
