Chapter 266 - You Know It Kills Me

Yang Xinyu was least interested in talking to her. However she had pleaded so much to the father that he gave her five minutes to meet with him. She entered his office and sat in the chair right opposite him. She saw that he was working on his computer.

"Yang Xinyu, you are an extremely rude person. How could you even make charges against your sister? She is in the midst of filming her first movie as a lead actress and you were so blinded by your wife's tale of lies that you disregarded the fact that Yang Fangxu is your sister? Shame on you!"

Yang Xinyu looked at her coldly and said, "You have three minutes left."

She became agitated, shifted in her chair and then continued, "Please drop your charges against Yang Fangxu."

"Anything else?" he asked collecting his documents for the next meeting.

"I know that you have become the chairman of the company but you must keep a low profile. There is something known as humility," she advised him.

Yang Xinyu looked at her with the most amusing expression, "Humility? I hope you are aware of the charges on Yang Fangxu."

She looked down at her hands.

"Your silence means you are. Words like 'humility', 'shame', doesn't look nice on you! Now get out of this office and don't think of showing your face to me ever again future. If you are Yang Fangxu even come near Wu Lina, I will not spare you. Consider this as my last warning," said Yang Xinyu with a fierce look on his face.

Not wanting to talk to her any further, he picked his documents and walked out of the office, leaving her fidgeting with her fingers.

Later that day, charges on Yang Fangxu were dropped. She had been in the jail for more than two days and it was the most fearful experience of her life. When she was coming out of the jail, a reported clicked her photo and printed it on his blog. A lot of money had to be given to him for taking it down.

In the Sapphire bungalow…

Wu Lina had come back from the office and was relaxing on a bench near the koi pond. It was a little chilly. She was wrapped in her shawl. She was sipping jasmine tea and munching on snacks. Her baby bump had started showing and it was becoming difficult for her to hide it anymore. Even though she had changed her wardrobe and would wear loose clothes, there were times that it would show.

She was looking at the cluster of orange fish running around the pond and smiled at them. They looked so serene in their world. Then she turned her gaze to the evening sky. While looking at various colors that mother nature had sprinkled in the sky, she wondered how beautifully they segued. All of a sudden she felt a slight movement in her belly. Taking her hand over there, she stroked her belly and said, "Do you want to talk to me? Should I read you a poem? Or do you want me to sing a lullaby for you?" She chuckled. Remembering her fight with Yang Xinyu the other day over visiting Yang Fangxu, Wu Lina became sad. It had been quite a few days and whenever she remembered about it, she would let out a sigh.

Yang Xinyu, on the other hand knew that he had become extremely angry with her. But she had been breaking the security protocols so many times that it only landed her in trouble. After the Bulgaria incident, he had become afraid of losing her. Only he knew how he had spent those days of separation. He wanted to say sorry to Wu Lina for shouting at her but she was giving him a cold shoulder.

When he returned back from office that day, he didn't find her in the bedroom. Upon asking the maid, he was informed that she was sitting near the koi pond. He strolled over there and came and stood beside her with his arms in his pockets.

Wu Lina became aware of his presence. She looked at everywhere else but him.

"Wu Lina, how are you feeling today?" he asked as if asking a stranger.

"I am fine…" she was giving very short answers from so many days now.

Yang Xinyu circled the bench and sat near her. He took out his arms from his pocket and crossed them across his chest even though he badly wanted to embrace her.

"Do you want to say something?" he asked.

She shook her head and stared at the evening sky, which was getting darker.

Yang Xinyu kept sitting beside her until the night fell. He rose when she did and walked behind her all the way to the bedroom. He hated when she retracted in her world.

They had dinner together as usual and retired to the bed. In the bedroom, Wu Lina started watching a movie. She had been watching a lot of movies lately because she wanted to conduct her research for the one she was producing. Unfortunately there weren't too many on child theme. So she ended up watching western English movies.

Yang Xinyu watched her for sometime, and then became impatient. He could no longer bear her ignoring him. He remembered when they fought like this last. It was in the penthouse when he had asked her not to do a job after marriage.

Slowly he crawled to her and kept his head on her lap. Wu Lina ignored him. He took the remote from her hand and switched off the TV.

Wu Lina didn't say a word and tried to move his head. But he held her firmly and said, "I won't let you go."

"Let me go. I want to sleep."

He left her and she propped her pillow to sleep. Yang Xinyu lied down beside her. "Lina, please don't be so angry. You know it kills me," he said curling his arms around her.

She looked away. He held her chin in his hands and turned it towards him. he saw that there were tears in her eyes.

"Oh darling! Please don't cry! I am so sorry, I am. Please, please don't cry." He said wiping her tears away.
