Chapter 71 - The Blog

Meanwhile in City H, some tabloids had got the whiff of the story that Yang Xinyu was admitted to a psychiatric hospital. The story started taking rounds on the Internet when some independent bloggers posted it on their websites.

Although these blogs had negligible followers there was a possibility that those who had caught its scent would blow it out of proportion.

The stories were fabricated and contained irrelevant gossip.

'The CEO of the Yang Corporation Yang Xinyu is admitted in a psychiatric ward of a famous hospital. He is suffering from a genetic illness that plagues his entire family. After the age of 25 almost all the male members of the family suffer from schizophrenia. Only Chairman Yang Min-Chang had been lucky enough to escape the illness. What will happen to the Yang Corporation in future? We hope that the company comes out with a proper statement and clarifies this otherwise there will be a huge issue of mistrust amongst the shareholders of the company. The company hasn't listed itself on the stock exchange only because of the fear that it will be overtaken by its rivals if they come to know about the illness of its heir.'

The HR department of the Yang Corporation became active. The Vice President of the department reported it to the Chairman.

"Sir, we have this story rolling out of nowhere," he reported as he handed the print of the story to him.

The Chairman read it and frowned. He was aware that not many people knew about Yang Xinyu's problem.

"Please find out about these bloggers. I think it won't be difficult. I want to see them in front of me within 2 hours" he ordered with urgency in his voice.

Chairman Yang Min-Chang had his personal army of highly specialized software engineers who could hack or destroy even the most powerful systems in the world. But they were rarely active. He had many political connections and it was important for him to have a team like that. He hadn't revealed it to Yang Xinyu but knew that the time will soon come when he had to make him aware of this team.

On Chairman's order the report was also sent to Mrs. Yang Chún qiàn. He told them not to tell a word about it to Yang Xinyu.

Yang Chún qiàn's hand started shaking when she read the report. For her it meant doom. Yang Xinyu was the only legitimate heir of the Company. She was afraid that the reins of the Company might fall into the hands of Chairman's youngest son Yang Láichén. It was a struggle of power. The Chairman never revealed what he had in mind for Yang Xinyu and this report only added fuel to her worries. She called the HR Vice President to discuss the possible ways to stop the circulation of the report.

"How will you handle the situation?" she asked.

"Ma'am we are already working on it and will report to you as soon as we find out about the bloggers who wrote it," he said.

"This is a ridiculous story! I want this matter to end as soon as possible!" she almost barked at him as if it was his fault that the bloggers wrote it.

The Vice President removed the phone from his ear and said, "Okay" before disconnecting it. The HR department had to stop the report from circulating before it became a gossip item.

The bloggers were found within an hour and in the next half an hour they brought in front of the Vice President. They were threatened ferociously to the stage that they deleted the blogs from the internet.

Meanwhile Yang Xinyu was oblivious to what was happening behind his back…

Yang Xinyu returned form England a week later. His flight landed at 10pm and by the time he came out of the airport, it was already 11pm. The driver was waiting for him outside. He driver drove the car towards the lounge and stopped it there. But Yang Xinyu asked him to go to Wu Lina's apartment. He was too exhausted but he couldn't wait to see her.
