Chapter 17 - His Likes And Dislikes

She remembered that Dr. Zhou had asked her to change her shift timings from 6am-2pm to 8am-6pm. The changes were made for her to only take care of the VIP patient Yang Xinyu. His company had donated over 5 million Yuan to the hospital, and the director was personally involved in his treatment. For this reason director didn't leave a stone unturned to make Yang Xinyu as comfortable as possible.

Since Wu Lina was one of the brightest and intelligent nurses, he had instructed the head-nurse to assign her to Yang Xinyu. He knew that Wu Lina's way of treating patients in psychiatric wards was different from others. She had an out of the box thinking.

Wu Lina had to conduct some research about the patient she was looking after so that she could connect with him at a deeper level.

She looked at his records and history at the nurse station and after reading them carefully she dialed a number.

The Yang mansion was like a fairy tale castle. Located in one of the most expensive and exclusive real estates available in the town, one had to drive the car for almost a kilometer before reaching the main entrance. Wu Lina parked her car in front of the mansion in designated parking areas. There were over twenty-five luxury cars parked there and her Mini Copper looked 'mini'!

She reached the main entrance while admiring the beautiful gardens surrounding the mansion. She pressed the bell and an old butler opened the door for her after some time.

"Good afternoon, I am Wu Lina," she said with a smile.

"Good afternoon young miss. Mrs. Yang is waiting for you," he replied coldly. He was appalled by the way she had dressed. She was wearing a casual blue denim and with a green shirt. She appeared very common… Almost all other young miss who came to this mansion were dressed in exquisite dresses.

He led her to the living room and pointed at the sofa, "Please sit. I will inform Mrs. Yang."

Wu Lina was stunned by the mere opulence of the room. The expansive living room was divided into four intimate seating groups. Each seating group was complete with a custom sofa covered in plush fabric with red floral pattern, with the facing armchairs. On one of the walls there was a collage of paintings from world's renowned artists. A Persian silk carpet beneath each seating arrangement enhanced the overall look. A huge chandelier was dangling overhead.

The oriental woodwork was unmatched. The ornately bordered tiles, presence of deities and dynastic mementoes was giving it a classical aura.

Wu Lina was so engrossed in admiring the living room that she didn't notice that Mrs. Yang had entered the room.

Mrs. Yang came closer to her as if inspecting her looks. Breaking Wu Lina's reverie she smiled and extended her hand to her, 'Hello Ms Wu. I am Xiao Xinyu's mother. How is he doing? I was glad to hear that you are taking such keen interest in taking care of my son. He is a smart and a very intelligent man. His circumstances were unfortunate…" her voice trailed off…

Wu Lina was surprised and ashamed at the same time for her awkward gawk. She recovered quickly and said, "I understand āyí… I am here to know about his likes and dislikes. Any habit that pleases him, or anything he hates? Please let me know about them in detail".

"Sure dear…" Mrs. Yang started. "Ying Yue used to be the center of his world. She used to come at our place almost every day. She would disturb him even if he were in important meetings and he would listen to her. She had seduced him to the level that he was wrapped around her small finger.

At first she used to follow him everywhere he went, cajoling him and trying to dazzle him at every given opportunity. However, a few months later she started avoiding her. She would often not meet him on the pretext of heavy workload or meeting with the clients in other cities.

Yang Xinyu used to become extremely upset and throw a tantrum when she didn't meet him. However with her avoiding him extensively, he became confused. He stopped concentrating on his work. One day he followed her and found that she had gone to meet his business archrival Yan Xiaojun in a five star hotel."
