Book 3: Chapter 9 (8/9)

Name:Twin Soul Author:Zskyph
Anwyn simply released her fire aura to burn Gisella’s [Absolute Zero] spell, preventing it from successfully forming an ice armor on her. However, Anwyn quickly realized that her fire aura wasn’t strong enough to completely halt the ice armor from forming on her body. Anwyn commanded her Soul-bound Magical Staff to cast a powerful fire beam on herself to help her completely remove the [Absolute Zero].

Anwyn's extraordinary natural resistance to Fire Magic allowed her not to get any burning injury from the powerful fire beam casted on her by her Soul-bound Magical Staff. After confirming the [Absolute Zero] spell ceased forming the ice armor on her and started dissolving away, Anwyn thought to herself, “Damn it. This Demigod’s Magical Penetration rate is strong enough to cause harm to my body. I can’t fight recklessly anymore.”

Gisella wasn’t giving Anwyn any time to attack. Right after Anwyn finished removing [Absolute Zero] to be formed on her, Gisella already casted another God-tier Ice Magic spell named [Ice Birds]. Over a thousand birds made out of Ice Magic flew toward Anwyn at a very fast speed. Even though those ice birds weren’t looking that threatening, Anwyn still casted the [Incinerate] spell to completely destroy them all. That was the correct decision because each of those ice birds could have frozen an Eleventh Stage Saint Warrior to death in a blink of an eye if they touched them. Similar but much better compared to the [Ice Spear] spell, those Ice Birds can freely fly and chase their targets without needing Gisella to control them.

Seeing all over a thousand Ice Birds were killed in an instant, Gisella happily thought to herself, "The [Incinerate] spell casted by the Devil Overlord was at least ten times stronger compared to the [Incinerate] spell casted by a regular level 100 Fire Mage. I'm so happy to have a chance fighting with such an almighty foe in the lower realms. This battle shall grant me great experience when I travel to the higher realms because I know there will be many powerful God Mages that are a hundred times stronger than her."

Back to the battle between Kain and Noe. Kain and Kimaris were speechless after seeing Noe Clerico appear in front of them. Both of them have the same question inside their head, "How did Noe Clerico escape from the rectangle box that was locked inside the Magical Storage Ring?"

Seeing their perplexed faces, Noe confidently laughed and explained, “[Unlimited Life] isn’t just a magic spell. Whatever you have done to prevent me from casting magic earlier wasn’t enough to obstruct me from using [Unlimited Life] spell since it became a storable type of magic spell that could be stacked and activated upon need without the need of casting magic or using mana. About the box that you used to lock my decapitated head and body parts in before putting it back inside your Storage Ring, hahaha... That box wasn’t strong enough to seal me. There is nothing you can do that is going to be enough to kill me. How many times do I have to tell you this? I am an immortal, you idiots.”

What Noe was explaining to Kain was just a bunch of lies. He activated the [Unlimited Life] spell twice and placed two reversal marks on his body before Kain's attacked him. Noe intended to allow Kain to kill him as many times as Kain wanted so he can revive himself repeatedly to trick Kain to give up on killing him. That was why when Kain got closer to Noe and activated his [Magic Annulment] spell, it didn't prevent Noe from casting [Unlimited Life] since Noe already casted it before that. Similarly, when Noe just revived himself and immediately was killed by Kimaris, he revived himself using the second reversal mark.

Because the [Unlimited Life] spell worked like a time-reversal for Noe's entire body, that was how he didn't need to escape from the rectangle box Kain crafted using the rest of his ultra-rare crafting materials. Even if Kain sealed him inside that rectangle box, locked inside his Storage Ring, then threw it into another realm or planet, Noe would have appeared back at the exact location where he placed the reversal mark on his body. What Noe didn't expect was Kain had created a magic spell that could prevent him from casting magic. If Kain and Kimaris teamed up again to attack Noe the third time instead of looking at each other in surprise like a bunch of dumb f*cks, they will see Noe would have used [Damage Mitigation] ability to defend instead of allowing them to kill him again because there was no reversal mark left to use. Noe wanted to place another reversal mark on his body using the [Unlimited Life] spell but Kain's [Magic Annulment] prevented him from doing so.

Noe could have increased his Magical Resistance rate to extremely high but that would risk losing too much mana without gaining any benefit since [Unlimited Life] spells have to be accurately casted or it would be wasted as the reversal marks expired within seconds after placing. The time of expiration for the reversal marks could be set by Noe depending on how much mana he is willing to put in. Noe could have placed a reversal mark on his body and set it to expire in five minutes, but that would cost a lot of his mana which could be used to set a thousand eight hundred and twenty four (1824) reversal marks that were set to three seconds.

Keeping the confident appearance up by laughing out loud while opening both of his arms wide to pretend like he was allowing Kain and Kimaris to kill him again, Noe shakingly thought to himself, "Phew, that was too damn close. Kain Bersk, I have to praise you for creating such an impressive magic spell that can prevent other mages from casting magic. It's a good thing that I have placed two marks instead of one or that the Devil Lord would have succeeded in killing me. What shall I do now? If I attempted to get away from Kain then he would know I'm afraid of the magic spell he is using to prevent me from using [Unlimited Life]. But if I stay and fight, [Damage Mitigation] alone won't be enough to protect me. My mana pool is extremely large, but..."
