Book 3: Chapter 4 (3/8)

Name:Twin Soul Author:Zskyph
There are Thirteen Gates in Hell Realm, each gate acted alone as a planet ruled by a Demon Lord. All Thirteen Gates are connected through bridges that are heavily guarded by the demon generals and their demon armies of that gate. Every time a Demon Lord of a gate advances into God-tier or is killed by a Devil, a new Demon Lord will be appointed to take over that gate. There are different populations, different demon races, and different cultures in each gate.

But much different compared to other realms, Hell Realm was created to house selected warriors and magic casters that died during battle in their realms. Their souls were dragged down to Hell Realm and became demons. It has nothing to do with being good or evil when those warriors and magic casters were alive. It was more about if they worship Watcher Tykan or Watcher Zorim while still being alive on their planets. Average human and Demi-Human souls that didn’t train in warrior arts or magic casing in their lifetime will be placed in the rotation list and be reborn on random planets to start a new life. Except for Devils who are exempted from this rule, regular demons and Demon Lords can't marry or have children.

The only way Kain could get to the planet of Devils inside Hell Realm was to go through the Thirteenth Gate. Since Kain came in his astral form, his ability to use Blood Magic is prohibited and his magical power was greatly reduced. Still, Kain’s physical strength as the Vampire Mutant allowed him to roam the Thirteenth Gate without worrying much since he can always come back to his body just by thinking about it. To make things easier, Kain went into Kimaris's Castle and spoke to him about his intention of crossing into the Devils’ planet. Kimaris wanted to stop Kain at first because not all humans can make it back alive after crossing into that planet. But then after remembering Kain was using his astral form, Kimaris didn’t waste his time any longer and allowed Kain to pass through his Thirteenth Gate.

Kain waited inside Kimaris's castle for twenty hours because Kain wanted his [Devil Anatomy] spell to reset before crossing into the Devils’ planet. But Kain didn't want to leave either because he wanted to be on standby just in case he could feel Evienne was in danger. If that happens, Kain will step into the Devils' planet regardless of whether his [Devil Anatomy] spell is reset or not.

The next day. After crossing the bridge of the Thirteenth Gate, Kain arrived at a dead-end. Kimaris then used a key that he had with him to turn the dead-end into a portal. Kain told Kimaris not to close the portal until he comes back and for whatever reason Kain needed to return to his physical body, he will activate [Astral Projection] again to notify Kimaris to close the portal. Kain then immediately walked through that portal knowing it is connected to the Devils’ planet.

So much different compared to the planets where human races reside. The Devils’ planet has no social structures such as poor Devils or Rich Devils, and castles among castles could be seen everywhere. Kain flew around and was amazed that he saw no demon guards patrol or didn’t even meet one Devil walking around yet. Kain used the permanent abyss link chained between him and Evienne to figure out her current location and flew directly toward it. The Devils’ planet is super small as its size was roughly three percent large compared to Toria Continents. That was why after ten minutes of flying, Kain located one of the castles that belonged to the Lucifuge Family. After double-checking the permanent abyss link, Kain confirmed Evienne was inside that castle and flew toward it. Upon arrival, Kain could see two Devils were fighting equally on the ground while more Devils were just surrounding them and didn’t take any action.

Kain didn’t have time to wait for them to finish their fight, he also landed on the ground near them and rudely shouted, “Hey!”

Approximately fourteen Devils present turned to look at him, and the two Devils that were fighting also turned to look at Kain while continuously fighting. Seeing Kain had caught their attention, he asked, “I’m looking for Evienne Lucifuge. Is she here?”

A male Devil asked, “Who are you? How do you get here?”

“I don’t have time to answer your questions. Is Evienne Lucifuge living in that castle? Yes, or no?” Kain rudely asked back.

Another male Devil said, “She is my daughter. I am Krugas Lucifuge. I have seen you were flying earlier. Judging by your appearance, you must be a Vampire Emperor.”

After hearing Krugas said that Evienne was his daughter, Kain showed a little more respect toward him as he said, “Yes… sir. I’m here to speak with Evienne. If you don’t mind, would you call her out here please?”

Krugas asked, “What is your relationship with my daughter?”

“She is my Soul-Bound Creature.” Kain had no problem being honest about it.

“Ah, you are Kain Bersk, aren’t you?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Evienne is inside, you may come in.” Krugas smiled as he said that.

“Thank you, sir.”

Kain flexed his Vampire Wings again and started flying inside the castle. While Kain's back was turned, Krugas created a lightning sword on his right hand, flexed his Devil Wings, flew toward Kain at a very fast speed, and swung it toward Kain's back. Kain wasn’t surprised as he had been preparing for something like that to happen. Kain had activated [Shadow Clone] spell the moment he landed on the ground before speaking with the Devils just in case they attacked upon seeing him. Krugas didn't know about this and was tricked into attacking Kain's [Shadow Clone] instead.

After his Shadow Clone was killed, Kain appeared fifty feet away and asked, “I was wondering why one out of the two Devils that are fighting with each other was shaking his head repeatedly when you announced yourself as Krugas Lucifuge. You have angered me, but I will still give you a chance to explain. Who are you? And why are you attempting to trick me into believing Evienne is your daughter?”

Instead of answering Kain, Krugas flew toward Kain's location to attack him using his lightning sword. Kain smirked, shook his head in disappointment as he activated [Devil Anatomy] spell. Then instead of creating a weapon, Kain casted [Carnage Inferno] spell, and allowed Krugas’s lightning sword to slashed at him. As soon as Krugas’s lightning sword touched Kain’s neck, the powerful blue flame that was burning Kain's body was transported to Krugas and quickly spread throughout his body while Kain could barely dodge Krugas’s attack and only received a minor scratch on his neck. Because it happened too fast, Krugas didn’t know Kain casted [Carnage Inferno] spell and was trying to kill Kain before he could create a weapon to fight him. Using that advantage, Kain then created a giant fiery battle-ax and swung it at Krugas, forcing him to fly back a hundred feet.

Krugas shockingly asked, “Battlemage?”
