Book 2: Chapter 12 (1/12)

Kain casted [Devil Anatomy] spell to transform himself into a silver-haired Devil having two horns, a pair of Devil Wings, and holding a giant fiery battle-ax on his right hand. He then flew toward the long brown beard man and swung his battle-ax at him at full force. The man was irritated by Kain's ignorance. He raised his big shield to defense while holding a greatsword in the right-hand with the intent to strike back after blocking Kain’s attack. The man said, "Ignorant brat, my defense is impeccable-"

The long brown beard man couldn't even finish what he wanted to say when Kain's fiery battle-ax broke through his big shield and continued to cut him from the head down to his stomach then split him into two pieces. The long brown beard man can use a greatsword with one hand indicating his physical strength wasn't weak. But compared to the Devil's strength that Kain was using, there was a clear big gap between them.

While still in his Devil form, Kain asked Iris, "Any other opponent you want me to kill?"

"No, he was your only opponent here. You have passed this Fourteenth-tier."

Kain deactivated his [Devil Anatomy] and said, "Teleport me to the last tier then."

“Why so rush? You seem to be in a hurry.”

“It has been too long since I came to this Timeless Dungeon. I have achieved what I came for which was power. Not only that, I now have a powerful Soul-Bound Creature as well. I can’t wait to get out of this Timeless Dungeon and go back to Toria Continents.”

“Very well, I understand how you feel. Kain, you aren’t supposed to be able to receive any reward for completing the Fourteenth-tier of this Timeless Dungeon as well. But after careful consideration, I will grant you a small reward. The reward for this tier is to convert any weapon of your choice to a Soul Weapon. Normally this type of reward can only be given to a warrior. But since you are both warrior and magic caster, then it wouldn't be a problem. You can choose one of the souls from the enemies you have slain in Timeless Dungeon from tier-one to tier-fourteen. Your next opponent is going to be much stronger compared to a Devil Warrior, and using Blood Equipment will be prohibited. Therefore, you need all types of help that you can get.”

“Iris, I thank you for this reward. Still, it's very hard to choose because everyone I have killed so far seems to be pretty weak.”

Iris took a deep breath and started to explain, "Kain, the power of your Soul Weapon will be able to scale with your physical strength or magic power. The stronger that you are, the stronger the soul bound to your weapon is going to be. Even if you just bind the soul of a Novice Mage to your weapon, that Novice Mage will instantly become a level 100 magic caster. However, what you needed to look for the kind of abilities, sword skills, or Saint-tier magic spells that that soul had created. If you choose to bind a soul of a Novice Mage, then despite having level 100 magical power, that Novice Mage's soul won't be able to cast any magic spells higher than Novice-tier. I hope that I have explained enough for you to understand."

Kain nodded and said, "Yes, you did. Thank you for your explanation, beautiful Iris."

“The man you just killed here was pretty strong. His name is Lloyd Corbin, and he came from Westoak Continents. He is an Eleventh Stage Saint Warrior that specialized in defense. With him by your side, it will make the enemies much harder to even have a chance of being able to touch you.”

“Nah. If I can kill him in just one attack, he is no better than trash in my eyes.”

“You used your Devil form to kill him. Not many people can survive against that. Okay, up to you. Who do you want to be bound to your Soul-Bound Weapon? You needed to make a decision immediately.”

"Tim Vydia. I wanted him."

"Tim Vydia is an Angel Battlemage. He didn't actually die and was teleported back to Heaven Realm after you killed him in the duel."

“Ah, that's right. Demons and angels can't be killed unless I travel to their realms to kill them. I will choose Almost Idiot then. Beside Evienne Lucifuge and Tim Vydia, he is the only one that can be considered strong in my eyes.”

“Who is Almost Idiot?” Iris asked while digging through her memory searching for someone by that name.

“Sorry, I meant Xenos Heliot.”

“Ah, the Vampire Emperor. No, his soul can’t be recovered.”

“Hoh? How so?”

“His soul was secured inside his heart. You have eaten his heart and devoured his soul which turned you into a Vampire Mutant. Let me make it easier for you to understand. There is no way to bind Xenos’s soul to your weapon.”

Kain thought to himself, “An Eleventh Stage Ghost Warrior of Norelf Continents is stronger compared to a regular Eleventh Stage Saint Warrior of Toria Continents. Maybe I should choose her.”

After finishing digging through his memory, Kain then decided to choose one last person who he thought was good, “What about Iviss Sasken?”

Iris nodded and said, “Sure, hand me a weapon and I will bind her soul to it.”

Kain unlocked his Storage Ring, took out his Magical Diamond Ice Spear, and handed it to Iris.

Holding the Ice Spear, Iris asked, "Isn't this your Soul-Bound Weapon?"

"Yes, it is. Is there a problem?"

"A Soul-Bound Weapon can't be made into a Soul Weapon. Do you have any other weapon?"

Kain checked his Storage Ring again and saw a pair of black leather gloves. It was just regular gloves, nothing special about it. Kain gave that gloves to Iris and asked, "How about this?"

Iris asked in confusion, "Is that a weapon?"

"It could be."

"Weapon! I needed an actual weapon whether it is a sword, knife, dagger, whatever but not just a pair of black leather gloves."

"A knife... Right. Here it is." Kain handed Iris the knife that his Master Whistler gave him when he became her pupil at the age of five. That was the only knife Kain used to carry on his hip and use it to kill humans to collect their blood during his time training by Andrella Whistler.

Kain thought Iris would have summoned Iviss's soul to bind it to his knife or something like that. But Iris didn’t do anything special except for chanting something in silence. Approximately a minute later, Iris said, “It is completed. Now, remember this. If the life force of your Soul Weapon reaches depletion, it can be temporarily broken but will restore itself after twenty-hours.”

“Beautiful Iris, would you please explain it better?”

“Soul Weapon doesn’t have health, stamina, or mana pool. If you command your Soul Weapon to turn into its human form, then it will start using a life force for battle. Once the life force reaches depletion, it will be broken and become useless. However, it will restore itself after twenty-four hours so you can either use it as a weapon or command it to transform into human form once again. The only way to permanently destroy your Soul Weapon is when you actually die. In another way to put this, no one, not even you will be able to permanently destroy your Soul Weapon unless you commit suicide or killed by enemies.”

“I understand now. This isn't just a small reward as you have said. Iris, thank you.”
