Book 2: Chapter 10 (3/10)

“Kain Bersk, please rest for now because your next fight will start in two hours.” The loud voice said.

Kain said, “Understood.”

“There are four more battles before you pass the Tenth-tier of this Timeless Dungeon. For now, follow the magic light ball to your rest chamber.”

Two hours later. Kain was escorted out from his rest chamber to the dueling ground by two heavily equipped warriors. No introduction is needed from the loud voice as Kain was already famous for daring to argue with a Watcher. Kain got into his position, held his head high, and patiently waited for his next opponent.

“I wonder who would be my opponent now. Another Ghost Warrior from Norelf Continents?” Kain thought.

The loud voice said, “Next, Kain Bersk will be competing against Orkallael Hunzrin and Quarra Cormrael from Snowton Continents. Orkallael is an Eleventh Stage Saint Warrior, and Quarra is a level 100 Saint Light Mage. Orkallael Hunzrin and Quarra Cormrael have the same mother, but a different father, that would be the answer for any vexatious Watchers who were wondering why they have different last names. This is a handicap match of two versus one but Kain Bersk still can’t use his magical power.”

“Handicap match and I still can’t use any magic spell. Not a problem. I will just overwhelm them using my strength then.” Kain remained calm and told himself that.

“Watchers, please place your bet carefully before the battle starts. You will have one minute.” The loud voice ignored Kain’s worries about not being able to use magic and advised the Watchers to place their bet.

“Snowton Continents huh, that explains why they have white-hair. I will need to kill the Saint Light Mage first before fighting with that Saint Warrior. If I can cast magic spells, defeating both of them would be like eating a piece of cake.” Kain said out loud.

Quarra said, “Brother Orkallael, you heard him. He will aim to take my life first. Would you please hold him until I finish chanting for my strongest spell? My Sixteen Wings Angel will have to guard me so it won't be able to provide you any support.”

“Little sister, just instruct your Angel to protect you. I will do the best I can to keep him away from you as long as possible. We can’t lower our guards despite having an advantage in number. He has no problem letting us know about his intention of killing you first, which means he is very confident in his physical strength.”

“Or, he is just an idiot who speaks out loud whatever comes up in his mind.”

"That kind of thing will cost you your life. You must be very careful, understand?"

"Yes, brother Orkallael."

“Hmm... maybe I should kill that Saint Warrior first, he seems weak enough.” Kain continued talking to himself out loud despite his opponents being able to hear him.

“Battle started!” The loud voice said to notify Kain and his opponents that their battle has started.

Kain flexed his Vampire Wings then immediately flew toward Quarra. Quarra knew about he would target her first, she casted [Holy Aura] combined with [Circle of Protection] spells to keep her safe knowing Orkallael can hold Kain back while she started chanting for the [Summon Angel Warrior] spell. Orkallael activated [Acceleration], got in front of Kain, and swung his steel greatsword at him. Kain used his left leg to kicked Orkallael’s greatsword to the side, then used his right leg to kicked Orkallael in his face, and finally struck his Ice Spear into Orkallael's throat thinking it would penetrate through him.

“Huh?” Kain quickly noticed his Ice Spear couldn’t penetrate Orkallael’s throat. Kain spun three hundred sixty degrees then repeatedly strikes into Orkallael’s steel armor, broke through it, but couldn't penetrate his skin.

Kain then dodged to the side on time to avoid Orkallael’s greatsword slash at him. Kain flew up higher to avoid fighting with Orkallael and continued heading toward Quarra's location. Orkallael couldn’t fly, but his moving speed wasn’t slower compared to Kain’s flying speed. Orkallael sprinted toward Quarra’s location and jumped up high, then swung his greatsword at Kain again preventing him from having a chance to attack his sister. Kain parried Orkallael’s greatsword attack using his Ice Spear. He then spun three hundred sixty degrees again before striking his spear on Orkallael’s right eye, forcing him to repeatedly block it.

Kain thought to himself, "He seems to be worried about his eyes, that must be one of his weak points."

At this time, Quarra finished chanting for [Summon Angel Warrior] spell and wasted no time casting it. A Sixteen Wings Angel Warrior appeared and stood by Quarra’s side to protect her as instructed. Orkallael breathed out heavily in relief knowing his sister will be safe now and he can fight with Kain in a more relaxed manner to avoid making reckless actions.

Orkallael thought to himself, "He knew my eyes are one of the weak points. I have to be extra careful from now on. His fighting speed is incredible, I can't match that at all. And that Ice Spear, it made my movements slower every time it touched my skin."

Orkallael touched his steel armor and said, "Just one strike and it broke through my steel armor, it is such an amazing weapon. After we kill you, I will seize that Ice Spear and sell it for lots of gold coins."

Kain replied with a right middle finger to Orkallael's face.

Seeing her brother managed to keep Kain busy. And now with the protection of her Sixteen Wings Angel Warrior, Quarra could relax and focus on starting chanting for her strongest self-created Saint-tier Light Magic spell named [Sunray]. This spell will be harnessing the light power of the sun and concentrating it on one opponent, causing massive burning damages. Even if it casted at night time, [Sunray] power won't be reduced.

“If I can use my magic.”.. Kain continued to complain in his mind while thinking out of a way to kill Quarra before she finishes chanting for an ultimate spell. “I don’t know what kind of spell she is chanting for, but it must be very powerful. I can’t take the risk of allowing her to finish.” Kain thought to himself.

The fight between Kain and Orkallael resumed. Kain then decided to use the [Sun Flash] ability. This time, Kain won’t aim for Orkallael’s body but his eyes. Orkallael was surprised about Kain's ability to be able to release a very bright light aura from himself to temporarily blinded him. But Orkallael put his left hand up on time to cover his eyes and successfully prevented Kain from being able to penetrate his spear through it.

“He is well prepared for my surprise attack. Good warrior.” Kain expected something like this would have happened and wasn't being exasperated about it.
