Book 2: Chapter 6 (8/8)

Jael begged in a trembling tone, “I surrender. Please stop.”

Kain said in a dissatisfied tone, “I thought a Vampire Noble would be much stronger. Guess I was wrong.” Kain then released the right-hand that was choking Jael’s throat.

After Jael was released, he slowly got up from the ground and attempted to heal himself using [Cure] but it didn’t work. Jael asked in a respectful tone, “Could you please deactivate your [Magic Annulment] so I can heal myself?”

“Oh right.” Kain then deactivated [Magic Annulment] and [Crimson Gaze] to free the Ancient Vampires from their slow movements as well.

[Cure], a self-heal ability that only Ancient Vampires, Vampire Nobles, and Vampire Emperor of this realm can use. It required no human blood to activate but the healing effect will take a long time to heal major injuries. If comparing [Cure] to [Minor Healing] spell of Light Magic, its effectiveness is about half (50%). But if the vampire is going to use [Cure] with human blood, its effect can be boosted up to four hundred percent (400%) which puts it on par with the [Life Drain] spell of Blood Magic.

While healing himself, Jael looked around and remembered how all of the vampires guarding his castle were killed in an instant while the Ancient Vampires that served him couldn’t even get close to Kain during their fight. Jael asked in a startled tone, “Are all the Vampire Lords from Toria Continents as strong as you?”

Kain laughed out loud and replied in an overconfident tone, “Of course not. I am the strongest of them all.”

Kain remembered about the time when Etgar Revenmar nearly killed him using [Wind Strike] spells and shook his head. “If Master Whistler knows how strong I am now, she sure will be very proud to have a pupil such as myself. Guild Master Etgar Revenmar, I will use my power to assist you in defeating the Mages Council. At the same time, I’m positive that you won’t dare to threaten anyone I love again after seeing how powerful I am now.”

Urien slowly approached Kain from behind and politely asked, “Kain, if I may ask you a question. How did you create another clone of yourself back then? I didn’t know you have such a spell.”

“I don’t like to reveal my ability. Anyhow, Jael Morelock. Do you think I can win against the Vampire Emperor? If not, I’m sure Urien won’t mind waiting for another fifty thousand years.” Kain asked Jael hoping he would say his power won’t be enough in defeating the Vampire Emperor. Kain didn’t want to lose such a great opportunity to train for another fifty thousand years where he didn’t have to worry about shelter, food, human blood, or being interrupted. If possible, Kain would like to train until he reaches level 100 before advancing into the Fifth-tier of this Timeless Dungeon.

“You are very strong, I have to admit that. But…” Jael sighed lightly.

Kain celebrated in his mind, “Yes! But I won’t be strong enough. Say it!”

Jael continued, “But can I tag along with you and Urien?”

“Huh?” Kain asked in a confusing tone.

“I want to see you defeat the Emperor.”

“Wait… Do you mean that I can defeat the Vampire Emperor?”

“That is what I meant, yes.”

“F**k!” Kain cursed out loud. After calming down from his anger, Kain asked, “Why would you want to tag along with us?”

“I want to be the next Vampire Emperor. The only way for me to be stronger is by eating the heart of the current Vampire Emperor.”

“That is kinda messed up. Hmm… Will I gain the power of the Vampire Emperor too if I eat his heart?” Kain asked as he thought about the spell [Vampire Emperor Transmutation] that Iris had mentioned.

“Definitely not!” Jael screamed before continuing to explain, “Vampires from this realm are real vampires. From what I know, Vampire Lords from Toria Continents have to use Blood Magic to transform. Eating the heart of the Vampire Emperor in our realm won’t bring you any kind of benefits.”

“Judging by his facial expression, this fool must be lying to me.” Kain thought to himself while observing Jael’s facial expression.

Kain smiled and said, “I understand now. Feel free to tag along with us.”

After Kain charged his Blood Ring using the human blood stored inside Jael’s castle, they had a quick meal before departing from Corbank city. Because Kain refused to fly in able to reserve his mana, Jael prepared a royal horse carriage bearing the crest of the Nobles for them to ride on. Urien, Jael, and Kain continued to talk inside the royal horse carriage while six Ancient Vampires worked as their guards and coachmen. Due to having the crest of the Nobles, their royal horse carriage had no problem passing eighteen other cities without requesting permission from any other Vampire Nobles before reaching Shadeville, the capital city of the Ancient Vampires’ Realm.

Just like other cities, Shadeville’s vampires didn’t question Jael’s royal horse carriage after seeing the crest of the Nobles. Well, at least not until they reach the Vampire Emperor’s Castle. Two Ancient Vampires that served the Vampire Emperor came out to greet Jael as one of them said, “Sir Jael Morelock, please wait here while we wait for permission from the Emperor before you can enter the castle.”

Jael shook his head and said, “I’m not here to visit the Emperor. I have captured two vampires that wanted to assassinate him. Would you please bring them inside?”

“Who would be stupid enough that dare to do such a thing?”

Urien and Kain walked down from the horse carriage. Before they could say anything, an Ancient Vampire screeched, “Urien Hyde!? You are a banished one. You can’t be in Shadeville city. Guards, execute him!”

A hundred Ancient Vampires and more than two thousand vampires guarding the castle quickly surrounded Urien. Instead of being worried, Urien laughed out loud and said, “This is Kain Bersk, Vampire Lord from Toria Continents. Besides the Emperor, Lord Bersk is the most powerful vampire I have ever seen. He is here to kill the Emperor and it shall be done. If you stand down now and let us pass, I promise no harm will come to you. But if you still want to kill me, I don’t think Lord Bersk will stand idly by.”

Kain turned his head to look at Urien and asked, “What the hell are you talking about? My quest is to rescue your wife, not saving you from these losers. If they wanted to kill you, I wouldn't do anything to change that.”

“Wait, what? You can’t do that.”

“Who said that I can’t do that? There is only one quest I have to complete in this realm, isn’t it? I won’t waste my energy doing anything else besides finishing the quest that was given to me.”
