Book 2: Chapter 4 (2/8)

A Demon General noticed Kain, Kain's Second Soul, an Eagle Man, an ugly flying demon (Ice Gargoyle), and two Fire Demons. He asked out loud, “What are you guys? Demons or humans?”

Kain smirked and answered, “I am a human.”

“Why are there demons among you?”

“Demons? Oh, do you mean those Fire Demons? They are my servants.”

“Nonsense. The demon is a superior race. We don’t serve any humans.”

“Demon is a race? Hmm… does that mean those demons didn't come from Hell Realm?” Kain thought to himself.

Kain smiled and said, “I will give all of you a chance. If you decide to serve me, I will allow you all to live as well.”

The Demon General was upset when Kain asked him and his warriors to serve a human, he shouted, “This is blasphemy! All warriors attack! Bring the head of that human to me!” The Demon General gave the commands for his ten million demons to attack.

Kain’s Second Soul transformed into a demon using [Demon Anatomy I] and started the massacre. “Huh? Those demons are very weak. Perhaps first-tier or maybe second-tier warriors?” Kain asked himself as he had easily slain one after another demon.

Kain started chanting for [Conjure Skeleton Warrior] and [Conjure Phantom Knight] spells while Finwe killing any flying demons dare to approach the city through flying. Approximately twenty minutes later, Kain casted a total of a thousand Skeleton Warriors and a hundred Phantom Knights. He then gave out a command, “Each Phantom Knight leads ten Skeleton Warriors and forms into a group. Spread out and kill those weak-ass demons!”

Because of Kain’s current level at this time, his Skeleton Warrior was equally strong compared to an eighth-tier warrior. And his Phantom Knight was equally strong compared to a ninth-tier warrior. Finwe could only use the physical strength of a First Stage Saint Warrior when he first bound to Kain's Conjurer Soul. But now, Finwe could use the physical strength of a Second Stage Saint Warrior. Finwe true power is still unknown and he can only use his true strength when Kain reaches the Saint-tier in Conjuration Magic.

Inside a palace of the city. A guard was informing King Ulvein Filifar about a demon that can call upon other demons to appear from mid-air. And those demons were fighting back the demon hordes preventing them from attacking this city.

“A demon is helping us? Did he tell you his name?” The King asked.

“He said he is a hero.”

“Hero? What is a hero? Does that mean his name is Hero?”

“Father. May I speak?” Princess Phyrra Filifar requested permission to speak.

“Yes, my dear.”

“Father, I have read about heroes in an ancient book. In the past when humans were on a brink of extinction, the heroes appeared to save us from the demons. Perhaps this hero is sent by God to once again save us from the demons.”

“If that is the case, I should personally go greet this hero.”

“Father, allow me to do that for you. Just in case this is a trap set up by the demons to slay you. If you die, this city will be in chaos.”

Back to the battlefield. “None of my conjured creatures died yet. This city only has one gate, this is a good thing. But if any demon successfully kills a human in this city, I will fail this quest. Therefore, I needed to conjure more creatures. If I run out of mana, I still have the Blood Ring that contains a full blood pool. Even so, conjuring enough creatures to slay ten million demons isn't something I can do with just one Blood Ring.” Kain thought to himself as he plans on what to do next.

It had been more than an hour since Kain started fighting with the demons. More than two hundred thousand demons were killed but that was like two percent (2%) of their total troops. The Demon General didn’t want to fight with Kain personally after witnessing the powerful Phantom Knights fight. But one thing for sure, the Demon General knew his troops were large enough to fight Kain and the conjured creatures until they were exhausted. By that time, killing them won't be any hard.

Kain’s Second Soul casted [Demonic Hordes] to create a small one-dimension portal connected to this realm from the Hell Realm. Thirty-eight high-tier demons and a Demon General were transported before the portal closed.

“Thirty-eight? How unlucky… Well, at least I have a Demon General.” Kain thought to himself. He then gave the commands for the Demon General to lead the thirty-eight high-tier demons to join the battle as well.

On top of the city wall near the city gate. Princess Phyrra saw how Kain’s Second Soul dominated the battlefield against the demons while Kain was still guarding the gate making sure no demons could sneak through. "Is this the power of a hero? So powerful." Phyrra thought to herself.

Princess Phyrra then smiled in happiness and asked the City Guards’ Captain, “So strong. They are so strong. Are they twin brothers?”

The Guards’ Captain answered, “Princess Phyrra, they are just one.”

“My apology, but what do you mean by that?”

“I saw this man-” The Guards’ Captain pointed at Kain before continuing to explain, “He split himself into two. And then somehow he could call upon other demons to appear out of nowhere to help him fight.”

“I think I have heard about this before. This is what the heroes mentioned in the ancient book called ‘magic’.”

“Magic? What is that, Princess Phyrra?”

“Magic can only be used by God-chosen people. We, regular humans, don’t understand and can’t use it.”

“Still not enough. I needed more.” Kain thought to himself while chanting for [Conjure Thunder Eagle] spells. Approximately ten minutes later, Kain casted thirty [Conjure Thunder Eagle] spells and commanded them to use [Chain Lightning] spells toward the demons. “Finwe still has a full mana pool. I can always count on him for backup. If needed, I will release the creature in my LYAUR.”

Five hours later. More than two million demons have been massacred. Kain also loses over five hundred Skeleton Warriors and at least forty Phantom Knights. There are only twelve high-tier demons and the slightly injured Demon General left in the [Demonic Hordes] spell that Kain’s Second Soul has casted. Twenty-one out of the thirty Thunder Eagles Kain conjured were still alive. Kain quickly calculates and thought to himself, “If this keeps going, I can only take down four million demons before all of my conjured creatures and Demonic Hordes will be wiped out. I needed a different strategy.”
