Chapter 12: (7/12)

Name:Twin Soul Author:Zskyph
Markus Berethryl, son of Malark Berethryl and Dara Bersk. He was born in the year 115,706 of the Forty-sixth calendar. Malark was so happy when he found out that his son, Markus, possessed an Angelic Soul during Markus’s Elemental Soul Examination at the age of three. Malark was neither a warrior nor a magic caster. He was just a businessman that owned several stores in Malcus city, the capital city belonging to the Kingdom of Qarte. Even so, Malark made sure Markus could receive the best Magical Equipment money can buy when Markus was still just a Student Mage in Mages’ Academy of Malcus.

At the age of thirty, Markus graduated from the Mages’ Academy as a Legend-tier level 32 Light Mage. He was recruited to join the White which he respectfully declined. Markus had no need for money or hunger for power that was why he decided to become a solo Executioner who served no Lord for over two million years. Markus and Vonda have known each other for a very long time when Vonda was still operating as an Executioner. Eighty-six days ago, Vonda Hardy invited Markus Berethryl to become an Executioner for the Red. This was not the first time she invited him but the sixty-second time. However, this time she promised to support him in gaining a seat in the Mages Council as one of the Elders. Markus had no desire for fame, money, power, or glory. Still, if Markus gained a seat to be one of the Mages Council’s Elders, then that would mean he will be able to gain access to ultra-rare Magical Equipment that will help him in advancing into level 100 earlier than he could achieve by himself.

“[Judgment Day], the strongest spell that I have ever created. It will use my life as the source for generating damages even long after I died. I’m sure my [Judgement Day] is ten times stronger compared to Lord Hardy’s [Doomsday] spell. Rogue Wind Mage, please leave here before I cast this spell.” Markus respectably advised the unknown flying man.

The unknown flying man said, “Become my disciple. I will protect you.”

“I’m sorry, what?” Markus thought he had misheard what the unknown flying man just said.

“I have been watching you fight today, not bad for a young human. You have qualified to be my disciple during this visit. Kneel and bow down to me three times to acknowledge me as your master and I will protect you.”

“But you are a Wind Mage, what can you possibly teach me?”

“Why are you keep calling me Wind Mage?”

The unknown magic caster transformed himself into an Archangel. The difference between Archangel and a regular Angel Warrior is their wings. An Angel Warrior that only has a pair of angel wings on its back is considered to be the weakest type. The more pairs of wings they have indicated the stronger that they are. An Angel Warrior could have a maximum of eight pairs of wings which means sixteen wings on their back (each pair of wings is approximately 80 percent smaller compared to the Two Wings Angel Warrior). The Archangel only had one pair of wings on his/her back but his/her wings are thrice as large compared to the pair of wings of an Angel Warrior.

The Archangel then raised his left hand and started chanting something in a non-human language. Five seconds later, a hundred Sixteen Wings Angels appeared in front of him. The Archangel said, “My name is Zerachiel, perhaps you have heard of me.”

“Archangel Zerachiel? The real Archangel? Governor of Angels?” Markus opened his eyes widely in disbelief while asking this question.

“Is there any human that can summon a hundred Sixteen Wings Angels at once?” Archangel Zerachiel mockingly asked.

Markus immediately kneeled while flying in mid-air and bowed down three times toward Zerachiel. One of those Sixteen Wings Angels is on par with a Level 100 Saint Light Mage and could have easily killed Markus in a duel under five minutes.

Zerachiel smiled because he was happy that Markus did the right thing, he said, “Toria Continents is one of the realms that I can visit once every thousand years. I am happy to find a good disciple such as yourself, Markus Berethryl. You may now stand. From now on, I will protect and guide you to follow the pathway of Angel.”

“Thank you, Master Zerachiel.”

Etgar and his vampires didn’t know what else to do. There is no way they can defeat a hundred Sixteen Wings Angels, not including an Archangel. Zerachiel turned toward Etgar and said, “Human, I have heard you said a God-tier Warrior is stronger compared to an Archangel, would you like to try?”

Etgar shook his head and answered in a respectful voice, “Archangel Zerachiel, I was stupid for comparing a God Warrior to an almighty Archangel such as yourself. Please pardon me for my stupidity.”

“Uhm… I am happy with your answer and have decided to pardon you. Markus, let’s go now. There is nothing else for us to see here.”

“Master, what about Aber Hardy and Violet Hardy. Those vampires will chase after them the moment you leave.”

“Human’s problems, humans solve. If you have decided to be my disciple, then you are no longer a human. Follow me to the Heaven Realm for the ritual to become a true Sixteen Wings Angel.”

“I can become a Sixteen Wings Angel?”

“Of course, after you complete the ritual.”

“Yes, Master Zerachiel.”

Zerachiel snapped his fingers and a giant gateway to Heaven Realm was opened. He walked in and Markus immediately followed. After that, a hundred Sixteen Wings Angels slowly faded away. After the gateway to Heaven Realm closed, Etgar gave the order for his vampires to look for Aber and Violet to kill them. Less than thirty minutes later, the vampires located Aber and Violet to the West, nearly twenty miles away. Violet puts up a good fight but eventually gets killed by the vampires. Aber was just a useless magic caster who couldn’t cast any magic spell due to his mana and couldn't regenerate after being revived. Just to be sure, Etgar gave the command for his vampires to eat Aber and Violet completely. In that way, they can’t somehow get revived by some miraculous unknown White Mages that appeared later to revive them.
