Chapter 5: (7/8)

Nanya was actually older than Kain. She is thirty-six years old while Kain is nineteen. Ranks matter inside the Blood Mages Guild. A weaker Blood Mage has to refer to a stronger Blood Mage as ‘Senior’. Legend-tier is from level 31 to level 50. A Blood Mage that has level 41 and higher will receive the rank of ‘Master’ and be allowed to have pupils under his/her commands.

Glomer is the capital city of the Principality of Cylatlond. The Principality of Cylatlond is located to the far Southwest of Toria Continents, next to the Cloudia Empire.

Duinir Eroth was a level 50 Legend Blood and Conjurer Mage. He was executed by Executioner Harbek Jarevar who happened to be in town at that time. Harbek was a level 72 Saint-tier Earth Mage.

“Senior, I have a question.”

“Hmm?”

“I have seen how you fought back there, are you a trained warrior?”

“Uhm, I have trained in the warrior arts.”

“Senior, but why? As talented as you are, you should have focused on training magic instead of wasting time on the useless warrior arts.”

“Uhm, I asked my Master the same question and she beat me up to the point that I was too scared to ask again. Even to this day, I still don’t understand why I have to train in the warrior arts.”

Later that night, Kain allowed Nanya and Emelia to sleep on the bed while he meditated on the floor. Suddenly, Kain could hear a lot of noise and approximately more than two hundred people were walking nearby. Kain quietly woke Nanya and Emelia up then helped them to hide inside the closet. The closet was not big enough to hold even one person but Nanya and Emelia managed to painfully fit in.

About two minutes later, someone knocked very loud on Kain’s hotel door. A male voice said, “Open up!”

Kain answered in an angry tone, “What!?”

“This is Bifjorkian Theocracy Holy Knights. We have official business, open up!”

Kain opened his hotel room door and saw eight knights were standing in front of his room while many more knights were searching the nearby rooms. Kain said, “My meditation was interrupted, you better have a good explanation.”

“Step aside, this is an official business. We are searching for two Blood Mages. All rooms will be searched, no exception.”

“You dared to accuse me, a member of the Gray, of hiding Blood Mages?”

Kain raised his left hand up to show that he wore an LYAUR (Lock Your Ass Up Ring) on the middle finger. After that, Kain slowly put all the other fingers down while keeping his middle finger up and said, “Idiots, do you recognize this ring?” The knights could certainly see that the ring had the crest of the Mages Council.

“Honorable Magic Caster, I’m sorry to interrupt your night. Please pardon us. We have received an order from our Bishop that all rooms of every hotel need to be searched. We have to find those Blood Mages before they have a chance of escaping our city. Would you please allow us to search your room?”

“First, you interrupted my meditation. I have lost all of my meditation progress for the past six hours. Second, you dared to accuse me of hiding the Blood Mages that was why you wanted to search my room. Third, you brought up your Bishop and attempted to scare me. Fourth, who do you think you are? If I let you search my room just because you brought up your Bishop, then that means your Bishop has higher authority over the Mages Council, right? What is the name of your Bishop? I bet you that Lord Clerico will be so terrified of hearing your Bishop name.”

The knights looked at each other thinking about what they should say. None of them wanted to upset a member of the Mages Council. More importantly, no one dares to anger Noe Clerico, the leader of the Gray, and the strongest Saint Conjurer Mage who has lived for millions of years. The knight who was speaking with Kain said, “Honorable Magic Caster, you are too young to be a Graduated Mage. Would you please let us know how you can be a member of the Gray?”

Kain took out his Mage’s License and gave it to the knight. The knight was inspecting the Mage’s License but then it automatically escaped from his hand and flew back to Kain’s hand. Kain asked, “As you could see, this is not a fake license. Anything else? Should I go apologize to your Bishop now since a member of the Gray means f**king nothing for Bifjorkian Theocracy Holy Knights?”

The knights looked at each other again, then they decided to skip Kain’s room and moved on to the next room. Those knights had made the right decision. If they search his room and find Nanya with Emelia, then it would be the last night those knights will be able to live. Kain sighed in relief as he closed the door. Just to be sure, Kain did not call Nanya and Emelia out but let them stay inside the closet for two hours.

Kain opened the closet and saw Nanya was still holding Emelia tightly. They were happy to see it was Kain who had opened the closet, not one of the knights. Kain said, “You can come out now.”

The next day, the Executioners lifted the city from being locked down after searching through the whole town but were unable to find the Blood Mages. Kain went into the street to buy some food and brought it back to his hotel room. Kain didn’t want to order at the hotel because he wanted to avoid suspicious reasons about why he ordered for three people instead of one. After eating breakfast with Nanya and Emelia, Kain conjured a Skeleton and commanded it to stay inside his hotel room. Kain then left the hotel and walked around town looking for a good spot for [Warp Infusion].

Kain looked around and saw there was a group of six men acting like they were just talking. However, Kain recognized them because he saw them the moment he stepped out of the hotel to buy food this morning. They kept their distances of about two thousand feet to avoid suspicion but Kain is not an idiot that they could easily deceive.

It would be no coincidence that this group of six men just happened to follow him for the past forty minutes. Kain knew he was being secretly followed but chose to ignore it. Kain calmly walked around town for two more hours and when he turned around, Kain could see the group of six men was still ‘talking’ behind him. After walking around mindlessly for about another hour, Kain saw Jaane and Aber were walking together in the opposite direction. It seemed like Aber was showing Jaane around the town because his right index finger was pointing at something while his mouth was speaking. Kain thought about it for a moment then decided to approach them.
