Chapter 773 - Fear Of Getting Revealed

Seeing the look on Greta's face which was gradually getting more and more frightened, the corners of Michael's lips lifted upwards. "So?"

"You have no other choice but to cooperate with me." Michael continued without waiting for Greta to reply.

"All right, all right," Greta replied after a shaky breath, "I can give you all my share in the Petersson Communications company. But on one condition."

Michael cleared his throat, "Good. What conditions do you want to set for me?"

"You can't take that telecommunications company out of Oscar's hands. Besides, you can't bring up the issue of whether he is Peter's biological child or not in front of my family and husband."

Michael shrugged his shoulders and put on that sly smile. He took a sip of black coffee and then answered Greta's request which he thought sounded ridiculous.

"As long as you keep your promise, I won't do that." Michael replied casually.

"I hope you do as I ask." Greta retorted. The woman then got up from the light green sofa, took her tote bag, and hurried out of the coffee shop.

Hearing the sound of Greta's high heels clattering made Lisa look down again and play with her cellphone. She just dared to look up when she heard the sound of the doorbell ringing when the door was opened or closed.

Out of curiosity, Lisa tried to look back. She pretended to stretch her body and looked left and right. Out of the corner of her eye, she could only see the back of Michael's head, which had been sitting with his back to her.

'Damn, I can't see his face!' Lisa grumbled in her heart.

She then turned her gaze and looked at the coffee shop's glass window. SHe saw Greta get into her jet black BMW, then the car pulled out of the parking lot.

She memorized the conversation that revealed all the dark secrets in Greta's past life. Their sitting position was not too far away and the voices of Greta and the mysterious man were loud enough for her to hear everything clearly.

Michael did not say who Oscar's real father was. But Greta did not deny Michael's statement that Oscar was not Peter's biological child. From that moment on, the woman could only reply to Michael's accusations in a slightly trembling voice, letting everyone who was listening know that she was lying.

Actually, the reason Lisa was sitting at the coffee shop was to wait for Oscar to come home from work. She didn't think that sitting here would allow her to hear Greta's dark secret.

Lisa does know that Greta is not a good woman. According to her, the woman is a demon who happens to have a body and attitude like humans in general. But Lisa didn't think that Greta had the heart to commit such a betrayal behind Peter's back.

Lisa did not know that Oscar was not Peter's biological son, but rather his uncle's.

Her nose suddenly felt stuffy and her eyes burned. Oscar is a good man who deserves the good things in his life. But why do problems never seem to leave him? Why can't Oscar live a life without obstacles?

Now Lisa felt that perhaps, Oscar wasn't that much different from her. How Gatot left her mother and chose to be with another woman…. How her heart hurts so much knowing her mother cries every night because that bastard left their little family….

But Lisa knows that the problems Oscar will face in the future are more severe than hers. Lisa knew that Oscar didn't like his mother, but no matter what, she was his biological mother.

And Lisa knows very well that the pain that parents inflicted is the most unpleasant thing that could have ever happened to a child's life. People say, it's better to have a toothache than a heartache from being hurt by one's own family.

Lisa took a slow sip of her coffee and occasionally glanced at the clock on the wall. Not long after she paid her order at the cashier, she heard her cell phone ringing.

Oscar: I'm on my way home from work. Wait for me, I'll pick you up.

Reading a short message from Oscar made Lisa rush out of the coffee shop. She walked out with a confused mind and a gray feeling. She didn't have to walk far enough to see the familiar luxury car come out of the office building parking lot.

Before Lisa could react, she saw the luxury car speeding towards her. In the next second, the car stopped right next to her and Oscar's shocked expression appeared.

"Lisa?" Oscar greeted in disbelief, he unlocked the car and raised the windshield when Lisa came in and sat next to him.

Lisa smiled faintly and tried to look casual, "Surprised, huh?"

"What are you doing here?" Oscar asked as he saw her fastening her seat belt. When the woman had finished putting on her seatbelt, Oscar looked in the rearview mirror and stepped on the gas again.

For some reason, being near Oscar and hearing that man's voice made Lisa feel even more guilty. Actually, she doesn't know why she should feel guilty, even though all of this is not her fault. It's just that, as she had said earlier, Oscar was a good person who didn't deserve all this trouble.

For the next few moments, no sound left Lisa's lips. She just looked straight ahead and hoped that no tears would come out of her eyes.

It was unusual for Lisa to remain silent despite hearing Oscar's question. Usually, the woman would do something like this, to keep herself quiet and not replying to any words when they were fighting. But as Oscar remembered, the two of them didn't have a fight before.

Yesterday afternoon, they had eaten together and they were still exchanging messages just fine.

"Hey," Oscar glanced at Lisa while frowning, "Why are you so quiet? Did I do something wrong?"

Hearing his question made Lisa wake up from her daydream. She turned and gave a faint smile. "I just miss you, that's why I'm here to pick you up."

"Pick me up?"

Lisa's answer really took Oscar by surprise. He then turned and showed a wide smile that looked sweet, and his eyes sparkled, "You came here to pick me up because you missed me?"

Lisa didn't answer Oscar's question directly. She just nodded her head twice and bit her lower lip.

"Oh my God…" Oscar whispered as he continued to smile widely, "You missed me even though we met this afternoon?"

While saying that, his left palm opened and rested on top of Lisa's lap. He opened and closed his hand, showing that he was waiting impatiently for Lisa's hand.

"What the hell are you doing?" Lisa teased softly. She lowered her head and let him grasp his palm.

Her hand, which was much smaller than Oscar's, tugged at the man's fingers slowly.
