Chapter 729 - I've Forgiven You

Hearing Oscar's invitation to get married made the fog in Lisa's head just disappear. Her mind immediately returned when the two of them were married. There are no flowers, rings, chocolates, or romantic proposals as couples usually do.

Their previous marriage looked like a fake marriage.

There is only a marriage certificate that can be used as evidence that they are husband and wife. Apart from that, nothing else can prove their relationship at that time.

Now Oscar did the same thing and asked her to marry him as if getting married was an easy thing and no need to think about it any further. Lisa actually wanted to marry that man, but she didn't want what happened a few years ago to happen again.

It's not that she didn't love the man or refused to marry Oscar again, it's just…she's still not ready.

Lisa knows that every meeting will end in separation. Whether it's death or a completely destroyed relationship, they couldn't help but part in the end of their journey. But whatever it was, Lisa didn't want to part with Oscar.

She was too comfortable with their current relationship. She was afraid that if they took such a big step rashly like this, they would later regret and blame each other.

Lisa herself didn't know the real reason why she was not ready to marry Oscar again.

Seeing her wrinkled forehead made Oscar also frown and felt something strange. His face that had been shining before now turned gray.

"Why? You don't want to marry me? You don't want me to be your husband?" Oscar asked repeatedly in a tone that sounded poignant.

Lisa was silent for a while, dumbfounded by his stupid question. Of course she wanted to marry Oscar. Her biggest dream is to marry him and live happily with their son.

"No, it's not like that."

"I, ah, I just thought this all happened so fast. I also haven't had time to tell my mother that we want to get married again. Before, I was married and divorced with you, right? At that time, I kept it a secret from my mother, and it disappointed her a lot. Now I don't want to disappoint my mother again, and… I… I don't want to marry you if we're just going to separate again one day."

Hearing Lisa's last sentence made Oscar's eyes tear up and heat up. At first, he did feel disappointed and emotional because Lisa seemed reluctant to marry him again. But after hearing her reasoning, his heart felt like it was breaking into pieces.

"Lisa," Oscar kissed her forehead, then the man kissed her closed eyes, "I'm sorry that I disappointed you in the past."

When someone famous for his cold nature like Oscar suddenly said those sacred words, Lisa couldn't help but be surprised. Whether they're friends or lovers, the man never uttered a sincere-sounding apology.

But Lisa also didn't want to hear his apology. Because it wasn't entirely Oscar's fault. They were both equally at fault because their selfishness was too great for their love.

Lisa raised her hands and brushed Oscar's hair that was falling down. Her left hand stroked the man's wrinkled forehead and said, "Well, you don't have to apologize to me. It's all happened in the past. I promise that we will marry again one day."

"But not now," Lisa continued slowly, she bit her lower lip, "I just don't want us to rush things and so the problems that happened before, happen again later."

"I see, I understand. I want to wait for you until you are ready to marry me again. Even until we are both old and unable to walk upright, I will still wait for you!"

Hearing that made the atmosphere in the room not feel tense anymore. Their chests were already light and the cold air was starting to be replaced by warmth. Not long after, the sound of light laughter began to be heard in the bedroom.

"Hey, don't do anything weird." Lisa teased.

Oscar's clear blue eyes that looked at her were warm. The man followed the look on Lisa's face and his lips let out a soft chuckle. As he said earlier, he will always wait until she is ready to marry him again.

Even if Lisa was only ready to marry him when they were 80 years old, Oscar would still be ready to marry her the next day. He will prepare everything magnificently and according to the wishes of the woman he loves.

Oscar would do everything for Lisa.

"If you continue to act like that, I will give you a penalty of writing another 8000 words." Oscar replied with a face that tried to look serious.

Lisa pursed her lips, "Yeah, and it's just proof that you really have the heart to do it."

When Oscar mentioned the apology letter again, Lisa suddenly remembered the email that William had sent. Has the man read the email? Was it the reason Oscar was suddenly being sweet to her?

"Hey," Lisa tried quietly, "Did you read the email I sent you?"

Oscar cleared his throat and stroked the woman's cheekbones. All his life, he never thought he would love a woman as much as he loves Lisa. Never mind this deep, he wouldn't even dare to be so confident about his future together with someone else.

"Of course."

"Have you read it from beginning to end? Then you should know that I haven't written 8000 words yet."

Oscar frowned, "I've read it from start to finish, Lisa. I also know that if you haven't written up to 8000 words, maybe you only wrote up to 6500 words? I know it."

"Why? You want to apologize about that?" Oscar asked quietly. "Or do you want to rewrite all the contents of the apology letter?"

"Eh? No! Are you crazy!" Lisa replied quickly, "I just wanted to ask if you like my… writings and words in the letter?"

Seeing the look on Lisa's face that seemed to be in a hurry for an answer made Oscar smile widely. "Of course. I like the way you write and your grammar. Ever since I finished reading your letter, I have forgiven you."

In her heart, Lisa could only say, "Thanks, William!"
