Chapter 714 - Video Call With William

Suddenly, Lisa turned her head and saw the man's study door which was slightly ajar. The light from inside the room entered through the doorway. Usually, when the man came home after entering the study, he would finish around 9 to 10 pm.

'Does he still have a lot of work?' She wondered

"Oh, nevermind." Lisa replied to Oscar.

This afternoon, she actually felt worried when she saw him sitting while waiting for her in the living room. She was afraid that Oscar would suddenly bring up the matter this morning and do something similar to her. But as it turned out, the man didn't mention anything about it anymore.

Lisa was indeed punished, told to write 8000 apologies. It's just that the context is different. She was punished for not answering Oscar's incoming calls and making the man worried, and not because of the problem this morning.

At first, Lisa thought that the man would punish her in such a perverted way. Given the man's liking, of course she thought that her punishment would revolve around the bed. That's why the woman was surprised when Oscar told her to write 8000 times.

Even now, Lisa was still baffled by Oscar's attitude. Why didn't the man talk about the matter this morning at all?

Lisa shrugged her shoulders and entered the main room. She slowly closed the door and rushed to charge her cell phone. The woman put her phone on the table and without changing her clothes first, she sat on a chair.

Who would have thought that a woman in her 30s like her was punished like a schoolgirl?

Lisa bit her lower lip and took some folio paper that was already available on the desk. With a heavy heart and annoyed feelings, Lisa began to write one sentence after another. Not long after she managed to write about 10 rows, her feelings of irritation intensified.

She should be relaxing in bed by this time and watching her favorite TV show! Not writing apologies like a freaking child!

Just as Lisa was lost in her irritability, her cell phone suddenly rang. The woman immediately looked up and saw 'Dear William' adorning the screen. Seeing that name immediately made all the feelings of irritation just disappear from inside her chest.

Lisa hurriedly unplugged the charger from her cellphone and received William's incoming call.

"Hello Mom!"

Lisa smiled widely when she heard William's voice, "Wait a minute, honey."

Without waiting for William's reply, Lisa turned the boy's incoming call into a video call. For a moment, she only looked at William's hair, and as the boy let out a chuckle, William's face appeared on the screen of her cell phone.

"My dear son, hello!" Said Lisa enthusiastically.

"Mama! I miss you so much!" William replied enthusiastically. Hearing the boy's distinctive voice made all the feelings of annoyance and tiredness in her body disappear in the wind.

Lisa waved her hand excitedly and asked, "I miss my William so much too! How's school? Is everything alright over there?"

Looking around William, Lisa could tell that the boy was in his room. The boarding school provides dozens of rooms, each of which was filled by several students. But of course the size of the room is big enough so that 5 to 6 children who occupied it wouldn't feel cramped.

The boy that Lisa saw on her cell phone screen still looked exactly the same as the one she last saw in person. His cheeks still looked chubby and his eyes still sparkled. Only this time William's hair looked messy, making Lisa think that the boy had just finished studying.

"All is good! My new friends are all good too. The lessons here are also not too different from my old school, so I can follow them easily! The teachers are also good. They never forget to feed me and I never skipped any meals! Every day around 5 o'clock, me and my friends are invited to go on a tour around the school!"

At first, Lisa wanted to say something like, "Yeah, yeah. They feed you because it's their duty!" But of course she didn't say that.

Unlike her, who was happy to finally see William, the boy frowned. He saw that his mother's eye bags were getting thicker and darker. The woman seemed to be sitting on a chair and her right hand was holding a pen.

William is a sensitive and smart boy. He immediately knew whenever he noticed something was off about his mother and or her surroundings.

"Mom, why are you looking sad? Are you so busy that you have to bring home your work from the office?" William asked curiously.

Hearing the question initially made Lisa dumbfounded. But when she understood the meaning of the boy's question, she quickly picked up her cell phone and placed it on the table. So excited to receive William's incoming call, she forgot to hide some folio papers and the pen on her desk!

'It's not because of my job, William. Your evil Papa told your Mama to write 8000 apologies!'

Now was not the time to ask Oscar to lighten the punishment. The man was still busy in his study, and Lisa didn't want to ruin his mood further with her words. Instead of having her punishment lessened, Oscar might just add more to it!

Maybe Lisa would try to whine and beg the man to reduce her punishment tomorrow.

Or if the man was still adamant about it, she would definitely look for another way to make him forgive her already!

"Mom…?" William asked when he didn't hear Lisa's reply. "Are you okay? Where's Daddy?"

When Lisa was dumbfounded, confused about what to answer, it turned out that the boy's eyes had been scanning her face. The boy wondered why he couldn't call Oscar's cell phone and now he didn't see his father around his mother either.

Are they fighting?

If so, it's all his Papa's fault for sure!

Lisa laughed awkwardly, "Ah, your papa is busy. He's working overtime."

"Oh." William replied in a satisfied tone. No wonder the man did not answer his call.

"Oh, right! Mom, you haven't answered my question yet. Is your work not finished at the office so that you have to bring them to the house?"

Lisa shook her head. "Not work. This is a punishment from your Papa."

"Punishment from Papa? What did he tell Mama to do? Don't tell me he told you to write as many apologies as possible?"

Hearing her son's answer of course made Lisa surprised. "Oh, how did you know?"
