After saying that, Lisa walked over to Oscar. She stood right next to the man and enjoyed the night view. Not a single star lit up the sky, the only source of lighting that night apart from street lamps was the moon.

Hearing Lisa's question made Oscar's heart feel like it was being stabbed by a sewing needle. No one seemed to understand his heart but himself. The man turned his head, a sigh escaped his lips when he saw those dark brown eyes.

"You still have time to smile and joke with Chloe when I'm panicking like this? Do you know how panicked I was when you didn't read my messages and pick up my phone calls? What if what happened a few months ago happened again? What if you were kidnapped and nearly raped again? What if I'm late…"

At the same time, Lisa stood on tiptoe and wrapped her arms around Oscar's neck. Before he could react, she kissed the man's sensual lips.

Suddenly, in that second, all of Oscar's fears disappeared, carried away by Lisa's sweet lips. The man closed his eyes, enjoying the sudden kiss. Slowly but surely, he raised his hands and hugged Lisa's slender waist.

From earlier until this morning, it was Oscar who usually took the initiative to kiss. Lisa is not the type of woman who likes to show her affection to anyone, except William. This resulted in her never initiating the kiss or even just holding the man's hand first.

But now, this was the first time Lisa had taken a bold step and kissed Oscar.

Oscar was already used to her attitude that never showed any affection for him. That's why, the man couldn't believe what happened at that very second. He closed his eyes tightly, afraid that he might open them and realize that this was all a dream.

When Lisa let go of her sweet kiss from Oscar, the man's hand was still tightly wrapped around her waist. Lisa didn't complain knowing that Oscar didn't want to be far from her.

Her eyes widened in shock when she realized what she had just done. With hot cheeks and a racing heart, she quickly explained.

"Geez, sorry, sorry, I shouldn't have cut you by kissing you!" Lisa removed her hand from Oscar's neck, "I'm also sorry for, ah, because I put my phone on silent mode. Next time after my meeting is over, I'll definitely turn on the ringtone."

"I, Lisa Soewandi, swear," Lisa suddenly raised her index and middle fingers. "From today onwards, I won't be careless and will always pick up your phone when I'm not busy. I'll definitely turn on my ringtone unless I'm in a meeting. Who I go with or where I go, I will definitely inform you."

In all her life, Lisa rarely persuaded other people. If that person doesn't believe her, Lisa can easily cut ties with them. But not this time.

Hearing Oscar's worried tone and feeling the cold aura from the man made Lisa want to put all of her ego down and vow never to make the same mistake again.

Like a child trying to persuade her parents, she begged Oscar to forgive her.

Hearing that made Oscar's expression change drastically. If the man's face looked hard and stiff earlier, now a wide smile has graced his lips. His eyes were already warm, not as cold as before on the way home.

Oscar raised his right hand and put a few strands of hair behind Lisa's ear. With those warm and gentle eyes, he said, "I was really scared that something would happen to you. I almost called the police to find out where you are. Good thing Dani was able to quickly track your whereabouts."

"Dani tracked my position? Oh, I see! He's so smart!" Lisa teased half-surprised. She had known from the start that Oscar would find out about her through Dani. So now that she heard it from him, she wasn't too surprised.

Oscar cleared his throat, "That's one of the reasons why he became my confidant."

Lisa bit her lower lip then rested her head on Oscar's chest. This way, she could hear Oscar's heartbeat, which sounded the same as hers— loud. And Lisa was sure that maybe after this, her and that man's heart would come out of their ribs.

"I'm sorry, I know I was wrong this time. From today on, I promise I won't do the same thing again and I will definitely keep you updated." Lisa's voice sounded so soft and smooth, making Oscar's heart feel like a melted chocolate bar. "Don't be angry anymore, okay…"

That night, under the overcast sky and a gentle cold breeze, Lisa and Oscar hugged each other. Their eyes gazed out, enjoying the beautiful atmosphere of the night. Now, Lisa can tell that the evening looks beautiful.

Deep down in her heart, Lisa couldn't stop blaming herself for making Oscar worry. She should've immediately turned on the ringing mode on her phone after the meeting was over. But since she was too tired and sleepy, she forgot to do it.

Lisa hoped that she and Oscar could always be together and live their lives happily and without any problems. She hoped an incident like this wouldn't happen again. And that she and Oscar would never fight over petty matters like this again.

She felt like she wanted to do something to make amends for her mistake. Having such thoughts made her think of the various things she could do. Maybe inviting him to dinner together at a romantic restaurant? Or strolling through the town enjoying the night? Or…

That last idea, an idea she couldn't say out loud, instantly made Lisa's cheeks heat up.

As she said earlier, from the past until now, it was Oscar who always took the initiative to do something. Whether it's holding hands, kissing her forehead or lips, even hugging her. And now, Lisa thought, it wouldn't hurt if she took the initiative again once in a while.

Lisa snuggled against Oscar's chest and was silent for a while. She didn't know how to say this idea without feeling her cheeks turn red.

"Oscar, I- I want to eat that meat...." Lisa whispered.
