Chapter 19 - Han Mingxu is at the Hospital

Chapter 19: Han Mingxu is at the Hospital

Translator: Guy Gone Bad

Whether it was the popsicle earlier or now, this man knew everything having happened between him and Nancheng Lie. No, not everything between him and Nancheng Lie, but everything about him! He was monitored and watched day and night, which he hadn’t been aware of before.

Only one thing was an accident among of all things.

But now Li Qinghao was worried about Nancheng Lie the most.

As a onlooker, he saw how Nancheng Lie tried to hide his feeling for him and obviously the man who pretended to be him also knew it. That was why he was taking advantage of it.

Lie… Li Qinghao repeated his best friend’s name in his heart.

Boom! Boom! Boom! That familiar bouncing heartbeat came again. Ever since he met Nancheng Lie at the clothes shop, his heart often bounced irregularly. And his heart trembled every time he met Han Mingxu. It was a new experience for Li Qinghao.

And now…

“What’s going on?” Han Mingxu came by the door and said to him but Li Qinghao didn’t respond. When he saw the complicated expression on this Li Qinghao’s face, he was confused because he couldn’t understand this man now, “are you feeling uncomfortable?”

“No.” He suppressed that kind of weird feeling and smiled, “By thw way, can I ask you one thing?”

“Shoot.” They walked outside the room shoulder by shoulder.

“They told me that you major in medical.”

Han Mingxu raised his eyebrows and put on his guards. He was so intense that Li Qinghao could feel about it but he just pretended that he didn’t notice, “my classmates told me so. What’s the matter? Aren’t you a doctor now? Look at me. Doctors don’t have as much time as you do now.”

“Are you interested in me?” He finally loosened up.

“No.” Li Qinghao denied, “I just have a medical question for you.”

“Oh?” Han Mingxu raised his eyebrows. For no reason, when Li Qinghao denied that he was interested in him, he became no long paranoid but got a complicated feeling instead.

Not interested? How could that be?! Without a second’s hesitation, which on the contrary indicated that he absolutely had feelings for him.

“Huh?” Li Qinghao looked him.

“Nothing. I’ve only learnt for two years so I am afraid that I can’t help you.” Han Mingxu explained. When the real Han Mingxu chose to study medicine, he chose the same major as well because he had already planned to pretend to be him.

“Is that so? It’s not something very professional. You can hear about it first.” Li Qinghao paused for a while and continued, “there’s a person. When you hear his voice, picture his face or see him in person, your heart would bounce wildly but you kind of like that kind of feeling. And there is another person. When you see him from distance, your heart trembles and you fear of him subconsciously. You can’t control the fear at all. Do you know why?”

Well…

Han Mingxu cupped his chin. There was a person. He was so different when he met him for the first time. There was a person. The second time when he heard his voice, he would expect to see him again already. There was a person. When he met him for the third time, he would be happy enough to see him from distance.

It felt like…like… he was mortified. Han Mingxu didn’t usually run away when encountering problem. So he was pretty sure what it felt like.

“Love. It’s love.” He said, not answering Li Qinghao’s question but confirming his own thought. As he confirmed, the way he looked at Li Qinghao was especially passionate.

“Love?” Li Qinghao saw the affection in Han’s eyes. But the affection was npot strong enough for Li Qinghao to fall for. He thought Han was just answering his question, “what about the other person?”

“The other person?” Han Mingxu only got out of his feelings and he secretly hid his own feelings, “he might have done something terrible. If that fear is felt by the body, then it might come from deep in the soul.”

Li Qinghao frowned because there was no way his soul was afraid of Han Mingxu. It was true that he liked Nancheng Lie but only like a friend. Obviously this Li Qinghao loved Nancheng Lie like a boyfriend.

“What are you thinking?” Han Mingxu waved his hand before Li Qinghao’s eyes, “let’s go have dinner. My grandpa is very happy that I invited a friend over.”

Grandpa?

Li Qinghao was surprised. Yes. It was a rule of Han family. No matter how busy they were, as long as they were home, all family members had to gather together and eat dinner together. He was excited. Grandpa… Grandpa…

Nancheng Lie was a spirit of freedom. He had moved out since he was in high school. It was easy for him to sleep with men living alone because he was not allowed to invite his flings to his father’s.

His mother made a few calls to ask him to go home for dinner. It was when he got home that he found out it was his mother’s birthday. And all his siblings and their spouses and their children were there.

His mother liked keeping things simple, otherwise she would have a grand birthday banquet, given the wealth and power Nancheng family boasted.

“Oh right. I saw Mingxu at the hospital today.” Nancheng’s second eldest brother said. The Nancheng family also ran medical business. It was at their family hospital that Nancheng Lie’s father met his mother who was a nurse at that time. Nancheng Lie’s second brother was in charge of the hospital.

“Is he back? Why don’t you invite him for dinner?” His mother chitchatted. Nancheng Lie and Han Mingxu knew each other since they were little. His mother treated Han Mingxu like her own child. And Han Mingxu liked her because she was gentle and easygoing, or because she was like a mother to him.

“He was at the hospital? Was he hurt? How?” Nancheng Lie asked anxiously.

His brother gave him a look, “look at you. When dad was in hospital, you are not even so worried. Is he more important than dad?” he joked because Han Mingxu was like a younger brother to him too.

“You don’t know him at all? He always puts his ‘friends’ before brothers.” Nancheng Lie’s big sister teased. She knew that his brother’s feeling about Han Mingxu but she never talked about it openly.

“You…” Nancheng Lie put down his chopsticks and stood up.

“What are you doing?” His mother asked.

“To find out if his friend is safe.” His big sister continued to tease him.

“Come back and sit.” Nancheng Lie’s eldest brother ordered, even more condescending than his father, “let your second brother finish.”
