Chapter 15

(AN: Sorry for not uploading yesterday. I had a terrible headache but I'm good now. Btw I will NOT drop this fanfic or put it on hiatus.)

Next-Day Morning

Yang Chen woke up, dressed, and headed downstairs for breakfast.

When Yang Chen was downstairs he saw Wang Ma and Ruoxi eating breakfast.

Yang Chen greeting them both with a small smile. "Good morning."

"Good morning, young master." Wang Ma replied with her usual caring smile.

When Ruoxi saw Yang Chen come downstairs and greet them, she thought 'He's here! Ok, in order to be nicer to him, I have to greet him every morning.'

"Good...MorNING." Ruoxi said awkwardly which caused her to blush in embarrassment and think 'Ruoxi how can you mess up a simple greeting! Uhhh, I want to stick my head in a hole.'

Wang Ma giggled and Yang Chen chuckled at Ruoxi's awkward greeting which caused Ruoxi to be even more embarrassed.

While they were having breakfast, Ruoxi, although a little embarrassed from the earlier greeting, tried to start up a conversation.

"So Yang Chen, anything noteworthy happening today?"

"Not really, just going to head to work for the day. That's pretty much it, how about you?" Yang Chen answered while eating, before asking Ruoxi.

"Well, do you remember when I told you that Yu Lie will have a fashion show?" Ruoxi said to Yang Chen.

Yang Chen just nodded.

"Well now, without the partnership with the Xu Corporation it might be postponed since we won't have the necessary materials to arrange it. But there is a new tech company that recently launched and I plan to form a partnership with them." Ruoxi said explaining her plans for her company's event.

"They even created a new device that allows the body to heal any physical injury 10 times faster. I even read that people tried to dismantle this device in order to replicate it and find how it works. Sadly, this device has a secret compartment that causes it to self-destruct only when someone tries to dismantle it." Ruoxi explained with a little bit of awe about the new revolutionary device.

Yang Chen just stayed quiet when Ruoxi was talking about his company while smirking internally.

After a couple more minutes of chatting, Yang Chen got up from his chair and said.

"Well I have to get to work now."

"Thanks for the meal, Wang Ma." Yang Chen said to Wang Ma before heading to his car and leaving for work.

When Yang Chen left for work, Ruoxi was thinking seriously.

Wang Ma seeing Ruoxi looking serious got a bit worried and asked.

"Is something wrong, young miss?"

Ruoxi then looked at Wang Ma and asked seriously.

"Wang Ma, can you help me with something."

"If you think I can help young miss, then I'll be glad to help." Wang Ma answered seriously as she thought Ruoxi needed help with something important.

Ruoxi took a deep breath and spoke about her problem while slightly blushing.

"Can you help me learn, how to cook?"

When Wang Ma heard this, she covered her mouth to prevent from laughing out loud.

Wang Ma quickly composed herself before saying in a teasing voice. "And let me guess, you want to learn how to cook for the young master, am I right young miss?"

Ruoxi blushed and turn her head avoiding eye contact with Wang Ma before saying. "Of Course! I need to repay him for what he's done for me, that's all!"

Wang Ma didn't buy it and kept her teasing act while saying. "Are you sure that's the only reason, young miss?"

"Wang Ma!" Ruoxi got up from her seat while madly blushing.

"Fine, fine young miss, I'll help you learn how to cook." Wang Ma said to Ruoxi while dropping her teasing act.

"Thank you. I have to get to work now, so I'll be going." Ruoxi said with a faint blush before going to her car and leaving for work.

When Ruoxi was gone, Wang Ma sighed before smiling and said. "Sigh...young miss if only you could be a little more honest with yourself."

In Beijing

In a garden of a large house, you could see an old man playing, what looks to be chess by himself.

Suddenly a kind old lady approaches the old man while smiling and says. "Master, the head of the Li Clan has come to visit you."

"Let him in." Replied the old man as he slowly got up from his seat to greet his guest.

This man was named Yang Gongming, he is currently the patriarch of the Yang Clan, which is one of the top 4 families in Beijing.

The kind old lady nodded and went to retrieve the guest. This woman was named Yan Sanniang.

After a couple of minutes, Sanniang brought the guest to the garden.

The guest was an old man but looked to be relatively young for his age, his name was Li Moshen.

"Moshen, how long has it been since we last saw each other?" Yang Gongming said with a friendly smile.

"Far too long, my friend." Replied Li Moshen with his own friendly smile.

After they were done with there pleasantries and catching up, Yang Gongming asked while motioning to the chess table.

"Interested for a game, Moshen?"

"Haven't played in a while but sure." Replied Li Moshen as they both headed to the chess table and started their game.

Yan Sanniang had served them both tea, as the old friends started to play chess.

As they were both playing chess, Li Moshen suddenly asked. "Old Yang, have you've heard of the new company, Soaring Eagle Corporation?"

"Yes I have, they created the self-healing bracelet recently if my old brain remembers correctly, why do you ask?" Yang Gongming asked while concentrating on the game.

"Do you know, who the Ceo of that corporation is?" Li Moshen asked as he looked at Yang Gongming.

"If I remember correctly, his name should be Yang Chen, am I right?" Yang Gongming said as he moved his chess piece.

"Yea, your right but do you know his background." Li Moshen asked Yang Gongming.

"There isn't that much information on him, that I could find." Yang Gongming replied while thinking about what will be his next move in the match.

Suddenly Li Moshen takes out an envelope from his coat and gave it to Yang Gongming.

"What is this for, Moshen?" Yang Gongming asked confused.

"This envelope contains, most of the information about the Ceo of the Soaring Eagle Corporation. I find that this information will be very useful to you." Said Li Moshen while smiling a bit.

Yang Gongming trusted Li Moshen since his Li Clan, which is known to be the best information gatherer out of all the top 4 Beijing families and has connections to Hong Meng.

Hong Meng is a cultivation sect that mainly consists of Soul Formation Stage cultivators, but hardly has any that have reached the Transcends Tribulation Stage.

"Since Moshen is being so kind for this information then I'm guessing you need my power as the patriarch of the Yang clan for help with something." Said Yang Gongming smiling.

Li Moshen smirked before saying "No, no I don't need help with anything, I just hope that when there will be a problem in my Li clan, you're Yang Clan will be able to help."

"Of course, my clan will be able to help when the time arrives." Yang Gongming said smiling while thinking 'Sly old geezer.'

After the duo finished their talks, they continued back to their chess match.

After some time, their game ended in a draw before Li Moshen got up and said to Yang Gongming with a smile.

"Well old Yang, It was good seeing you again but I have to get back since there are some matters I have to deal with."

"It was good seeing you too, old friend." Yang Gongming said while smiling.

After Li Moshen left, Yan Sanniang approached Yang Gongming and asked with a little sadness in her tone.

"Master, can it be a possibility that it's him?"

"I don't know Sanniang, but there could be a chance." Yang Gongming said with sadness in his eyes.

Yang Gongming then opened the envelope and saw the contexts of the form.

When Yang Gongming read the contexts of the form he was shocked before he smiled bitterly with pain showing in his eyes.

Yan Sanniang was also shocked as she read contexts too before she revealed a sad smile.

"Sigh...Sanniang can you call Pojun to come and visit me whenever he arrives back to Beijing." Yang Gongming sighed before asking Yan Sanniang.

"Yes, master." Yan Sanniang replied before leaving to go call Yang Pojun.

Yang Chen who was in his office doing paperwork before someone knocked on his office door.

"You may enter." Yang Chen said.

Yang Chen's assistant came in and said respectfully. "Sir Pluto, you have been invited to a dinner by Yu Lie International and the Maple Corporation in hopes of forming a partnership with us, will you accept?"

Yang Chen thought for a moment before nodding.

"Then the meeting will take place in 2 weeks." The assistant said.

Yang Chen nodded before asking his assistant.

"By the way, we're you guys able to complete the task I asked for."

"Yes sir Pluto, we were able to have Lin Kun give up the house and admit to all of the crimes he's ever committed in his life, but his mind has been broken from the torture he's received. If he were to be left alone by himself, he will probably commit suicide." The assistant said.

"Purchase a mental hospital and have him move there, but make sure you erase every important doc.u.ment that's on him. I don't want anything being leaked, am I clear?" Yang Chen said seriously to his assistant.

"It will be done, sir Pluto." The assistant said before leaving Yang Chen's office.

When the assistant left, Yang Chen thought indifferently. 'If Lin Kun decides to take his own life, then I really don't care. Now that he's out of the picture and won't hinder my life, I can start focusing on how to handle my next target which is Rose's father, Situ Mingze. I plan to take care of him and have Rose take over the underworld society, but if Rose decides against killing her father, then I won't kill him. But that doesn't mean I won't make him suffer, on the contrary I'm going to make sure he chooses death over living.'

After thinking some more about his plans, Yang Chen returned to his paperwork.

'I wonder what my baby Rose is doing right now. I should probably go see her since I haven't seen her in a bit and I do miss her." Yang Chen thought while smiling.

(AN: I know, I rushed his company I just don't want him getting provoked left and right, but I won't expand to other countries yet since MC won't be planning on leaving China for some time.)
