Chapter 13

In the afternoon, Yang Chen had finished most of his paperwork and decided to head back to the dragon villa.

When Yang Chen made it back to the villa, he was greeted by Wang Ma.

After eating the food that Wang Ma had prepared for Yang Chen, she approached him with a lunch box in her hand.

"Young master, if it's not too much to ask, can you deliver this lunch to young miss?" Wang Ma gently asked as she was motioning to the lunch box.

"Sure." Replied Yang Chen as he smiled a bit at Wang Ma's gentleness.

"Oh and by the way, can you make sure that she eats the food because she came late from work yesterday and left early this morning without eating breakfast. I don't think young miss is eating properly." Said Wang Ma worriedly.

Yang Chen just smiled a bit and nodded.

Wang Ma then gave Yang Chen the lunch and he headed to his car to go to Yu Lei International.

When Yang Chen was on the road, he saw the same Rice ball shop, he went to a few day's ago.

Yang Chen then made a quick stop to go inside the shop to purchase some glutinous rice ball's while thinking ' I doubt Ruoxi will accept this lunch, especially from me, but I did promise Wang Ma that I would make sure, she would eat. So I'll buy her these rice balls and only give it to her after she eats the lunch since she likes them.'

This time Zhao Hongyan wasn't here, since she just helps in her family business some times, and she would be at work which was Yu Lei at this time.

Yang Chen then purchased the rice ball's and headed back to his car.

When Yang Chen made it to Yu Lei, he made his way unnoticed around the place to Ruoxi, since he didn't feel like explaining to anyone where he was going.

When Yang Chen approached Rouxi's office, he knocked on the door.

"You may, come in." Said Rouxi in a cold voice from inside the room.

"Yo, Wang Ma sent me here to deliver your lunch." Said Yang Chen as he went inside the room and motioned to the lunch box.

When Ruoxi saw Yang Chen come in, she was a bit surprised, then frowned and coldly asked

"How did you make your way in here?"

"What do you mean, I walked here." Yang Chen said innocently.

Ruoxi just kept frowning before she looked at the lunch box, Yang Chen was holding and said coldly

"I'm not hungry."

"I knew you would say that, so I got these as well." Said Yang Chen as he showed the bag of glutinous rice ball's to Ruoxi.

Ruoxi didn't know what to say for a bit, as she thought ' Why is he being so caring? Well it doesn't matter now, and I am pretty hungry, since I skipped breakfast this morning.'

"Fine, I'll eat." Said Ruoxi as she was pointing to the glutinous rice ball's.

"You first have to eat the lunch, Wang Ma prepared for you." Yang Chen said as he denied her of eating the rice ball's first.

Ruoxi furrowed her eyebrows when she heard that but still nodded.

Yang Chen then gave Ruoxi the lunch and sat in the seat in front of her desk.

When Ruoxi saw Yang Chen sit down, she coldly asked

"Are you going to watch me eat?"

"I promised Wang Ma, that I would make sure you finish all your food." Said Yang Chen, not intending to move.

Ruoxi frowned once again, but still decided to eat her food.

When Ruoxi was done eating, she looked at the glutinous rice ball's that was in Yang Chen's possession.

"Can I have them now?" Asked Ruoxi with a demanding tone, as she loved glutinous rice ball's.

"Say please." Yang Chen replied to Ruoxi.

Ruoxi gritted her teeth but still ended up asking him again.

"Can I please, have the glutinous rice ball's now?"

"Good girl." Said Yang Chen as he smiled a bit and gave her the rice ball's.

As soon as the rice balls were in reaching distance from Ruoxi, she grabbed them and took a bite as fast as she could.

After Ruoxi's first bite, she felt pure satisfaction.

Yang Chen chuckled a bit at Ruoxi's behavior, which caused her to blush in embarrassment.

"They were getting cold, so I naturally have to eat them as fast as I can." Ruoxi said blushing, as she was trying to save herself from the embarrassment but caused the opposite effect.

Yang Chen chuckled again, before saying

"Yea, whatever you say."

After a moment, Yang Chen got up from his seat and said "Well I have to go now."

Yang Chen then made his way to the door.

Ruoxi then called Yang Chen's name, in a low voice.

"Yang Chen?"

"Yea?" Yang Chen said as he turned around to look at Ruoxi.

Ruoxi just looked to the side and said while blushing

"Thank you."

"No problem, see you at home." Replied Yang Chen as he smiled a bit and left Ruoxi's office.

Ruoxi had a mysterious warmth flowed into her heart and thought 'No one other than Wang Ma, my late mother and granny have ever given me this type of familial care before. It feels...nice.'

Ruoxi then smiled as she got back to eating her glutinous rice ball's.

When Yang Chen left Ruoxi's office, he was going to take the elevator so he could get to his car.

When he got off the elevator he saw a man and a woman making a scene in the empty hallway through the PR Department.

The man that looked to be, from a higher department in this company, was bald and had a fat figure.

As for the woman she wore a light purple outfit with dyed purplish red streaks in her black hair, along with her well-developed curves. This woman was called Liu Mingyu.

Yang Chen didn't really bother with watching and was going to be on his way.

As Yang Chen was about to leave, he still heard their conversation with his enhanced hearing.

"Department Head Ma, I really am busy tonight so I can't go drinking with you." Said Liu Mingyu with a forced smile as she was really uncomfortable.

"Do you expect me to believe, that after you rejected me 10 times, you are still so busy." Department Head Ma said with a lecherous smile, as he was ogling Liu Mingyu's body.

Liu Mingyu seeing Department Head Ma's lecherous behavior felt disgusted, but still kept her forced smile and said

"I really do have something, to do today..."

But before Liu Mingyu can continue, she was forcefully grabbed in her arm by Department Head Ma.

"Ahh!" Yelped in pain, Liu Mingyu.

"Do you think I'm stupid! You probably use your body to satisfy your clients, since your always number one in performance every year!" Yelled Department Head Ma, as he was angry that this woman wouldn't accept his invitation.

"C'mon, It's just a couple of drinks, what do you say?" Asked Department Head Ma again, as he changed his mood and asked Liu Mingyu with his same lecherous smile.

Liu Mingyu was started to feel really scared as her eyes turn red and she was about to start crying.

"Please! Department Head Ma, you're hurting me!" Pleaded Liu Mingyu as she was started to feel fear.

Department Head Ma started to get turned on when he was hearing Liu Mingyu's pleading and was about to molest her, but before he was able to do anything to Liu Mingyu, an arm grabbed him.

Yang Chen who was hearing from the beginning turned to look at them as he knew where this was headed, so he took out his phone and started secretly recording.

When Yang Chen saw Department Head Ma being forceful with Liu Mingyu he rushed to him and grabbed the arm that was hurting Liu Mingyu.

"Who are you?!" Asked the shocked Department Head Ma to the newcomer.

Yang Chen didn't answer and applied more pressure to his grip.

"Let me go!" Said Department Head Ma in pain, which caused him to let go of Liu Mingyu, from the sudden pressure of Yang Chen's grip.

As soon as Department Head Ma let go of Liu Mingyu, Yang Chen threw him to the wall with much force that caused his arm to be fractured.

"Ahh!" Scream Department Head Ma in pain.

Liu Mingyu was still in shocked since all this happened so fast.

Department Head Ma stood up in pain while grabbing his fractured arm and said

"Do you know who I am?!"

Yang Chen didn't reply and just stared emotionless at Department Head Ma.

Suddenly a new person appears and interferes.

"What's going on here?!" Asked Mo Qianni.

Mo Qianni was preparing to go home, when she got off the elevator and heard shouting, so she decided to see what was all the commotion about.

When Mo Qianni saw Yang Chen, she was shocked before she frowned then turned to Liu Mingyu who had finally woken up from her shock, when Mo Qianni interfered.

"Mingyu explain!" Mo Qiannni sternly asked Liu Mingyu.

"Uh..uh." Liu Mingyu stuttered a bit.

"I'll tell you what's going on, this man assaulted me when I was having a nice chat with Liu Mingyu." Department Head Ma interrupted Liu Mingyu and pointed at Yang Chen while he explained his fabricated story.

"Is this true, Mingyu?" Asked Mo Qianni as she directed her gaze to Liu Mingyu, after listening to Department Head Ma's story.

"It is true! He even fractured my arm!" Department Head Ma didn't even let Li Mingyu have a chance to explain as he showed his injury.

When Mo Qianni saw his injury, she furrowed her eyebrows before turning back to Liu Mingyu.

"Mingyu?" Asked Mo Qianni, as she wanted to know the full story.

Liu Mingyu didn't know what to say, if she told the truth then, Department Head Ma would surely seek revenge and if she didn't tell the truth, then this young man would be blamed for everything after he had helped her. Liu Mingyu was just really scared at this point and didn't know what to do.

As Liu Mingyu was about to have an emotional breakdown, Yang Chen who was quiet the whole time decided to speak.

"She was about to be s.e.x.u.a.lly assaulted by this man."

"Lies! Me and Liu Mingyu were simply just having a nice chat! Right Liu Mingyu?" Department Head Ma quickly interjected and turned to look at Liu Mingyu.

When Liu Mingyu saw Department Head Ma eyes, she started shivering slightly but wasn't noticeable by Mo Qianni. So she didn't answer since his look meant that if she wouldn't be on his side, he would ruin her life.

Mo Qianni frowned and pinched her eyebrows while saying "This is getting nowhere."

Mo Qianni then looked at Yang Chen and said "Do you have any evidence to back up your claim?

Yang Chen didn't respond and just took out his phone from his b.r.e.a.s.t pocket, which was secretly filming the whole incident from the beginning.

When they all saw the recording, they were shocked since Yang Chen actually managed to have, solid proof.

After watching the video, Mo Qianni then turned to Department Head Ma with contempt and disgust and said coldly

"I think there's no reason to explain what's going to happen to you."

Lui Mingyu sighed in relief when she heard that since this nightmare can finally be over.

When Department Head Ma heard that he felt despair, while having negative thoughts 'No! After this, I'll be fired! Who will hire me now, that I will receive a criminal record! It's that bitch's fault because of her, my life will be ruined!'

Department Head Ma's despair turned into pure rage. He then looked at Liu Mingyu with bloodshot eyes and said angrily

"You! This is all your fault! If you had just accepted, none of this would have happened!"

"I'll f.u.c.k.i.n.g kill you!"

Department Head Ma ran straight to Liu Mingyu with the intention to beat her endlessly. He didn't even care for his injury or the people around him, as he was just blinded by rage.

"Don't!" Shouted Mo Qianni worriedly for Liu Mingyu.

When Liu Mingyu heard Department Head Ma words and saw his face full of rage and his intention to hit her, she froze. She was so scared, she couldn't even move.

Just as Department Head Ma was about to get close to Liu Mingyu, Yang Chen stepped in and grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up.

As Department Head Ma was lifted up in the air from the neck by Yang Chen, he struggled to breathe. As he looked at Yang Chen's emotionless eyes, there was no rage visible on him, just fear.

"You really are a piece of shit." Said Yang Chen emotionlessly before slamming his fat body to the ground.

*Slam*

Department Head Ma went unconscious instantly.

As soon as everything was over, Liu Mingyu's shaking legs couldn't take it anymore, so she fell on her b.u.t.t and starting sobbing silently.

Mo Qianni rushed to Liu Mingyu to comfort her. They may have not been, best friends but they have been co-workers for years, so Mo Qianni did feel sad for her since she's been in the same boat as her before.

Yang Chen just watched them in silence for a moment, before he took out his phone and called Ruoxi.

Ruoxi answered and asked.

"Yang Chen?"

"Ruoxi, there's been a problem." Yang Chen said to Ruoxi.

"Problem?" Rouxi frowned.

Yang Chen then started explaining the incident that transpired a few minutes ago to Rouxi.

"I see, sigh....I'll be on my way." Ruoxi released a sigh.

After they ended the call, it only took a few minutes for Ruoxi to get to the scene of the crime, with police and security.

Even Cai Yan showed up since the incident did happen in Rouxi's company. Cai Yan and Ruoxi were close friends as well and she was worried something, may have happened to her.

When Cai Yan saw Yang Chen, she was not happy.

After about an hour of boring questions the police left, but Cai Yan stayed a bit longer and the trio was in Ruoxi's office.

Mo Qianni accompanied the scared Liu Mingyu with the police to her house since she wasn't emotionally stable after what she experienced.

"Alright Ruoxi, I have to go handle this mess back at the station, so I'll be going now." Said Cai Yan with a smile to her best friend.

"Alright, see you." Ruoxi replied back with a small smile.

"And you!" Cai Yan said coldly as she turned to look at Yang Chen.

"Don't let me see you again." Cai Yan said coldly and left to the police station, but not before giving one last glare to Yang Chen.

Yang Chen didn't respond to Cai Yan's provocations and just stayed quiet.

When they were gone, Ruoxi approached Yang Chen and said

"Thank you, for what you did for Liu Mingyu."

Yang Chen just shrugged and said "It was just chance, that I happened to be there."

"But still, if it wasn't for you then things could've gone a lot worse." Ruoxi said.

This time Yang Chen didn't reply and they both stayed quiet. There was silence, but it wasn't awkward or cold, it was a comfortable silence.

Suddenly Ruoxi turned to Yang Chen and called his name.

"Yang Chen?"

"Yes?" Replied Yang Chen as he turned to look at Ruoxi.

"That night, why did you suddenly care for me, someone you've barely known only for a couple of days." Ruoxi finally asked what's been on her mind, since that day.

Yang Chen then thought of that night, Yang Chen found Ruoxi asleep in her study room and replied.

"Well, when I saw how your father treated you that day, it reminded me of someone who was in the exact same position as you." Yang Chen said with a bit of melancholy as he remembered his childhood in his previous life.

His and Ruoxi's life were so different, yet still similar in a way.

When Ruoxi heard that she was surprised before asking "Are you two close, then?"

"We were for a time, but we cut ties some time, not too long ago." Yang Chen said with a calm smile.

When Ruoxi heard that, she felt guilty and apologized "I'm sorry for bringing it up, I didn't know."

"Don't be, since it was for the best for both of us, well that's what I think anyway." Replied Yang Chen smiling a bit.

"Do you regret it?" Ruoxi suddenly asked.

"No, not really, well sometimes I think about it but that's pretty much it." Replied Yang Chen.

"I see..." Ruoxi said

After a moment of more comfortable silence, Yang Chen said

"Well I guess I should go, since it's getting late."

Rouxi didn't reply and just stayed silent.

"By the way, are u still staying for work?" Yang Chen suddenly asked Ruoxi.

"Yea, I have to get back to do some paperwork, why do you ask?" Ruoxi asked confused.

"No reason, just don't stay too late or you'll make Wang Ma worry. I know we just started living together but I can tell Wang Ma treats you like her own daughter, so don't make her too sad, alright?" Yang Chen said while looking at Ruoxi.

Ruoxi just stayed silent for a bit before she smiled and nodded.

"Mn."

Yang Chen smiled a little before leaving Ruoxi's office, to his car so he can head back to the dragon villa.
