105 Maternal Bond

The afternoon went by so fast as Yve finished all her duties and responsibilities for the day. She fixed her things and immediately went out of her office. In the lounge, Jaleb gets off the car and opens the door for her.

"Thank you, Jaleb. By the way, we're going to the Noble Head Office first."

"Yes, miss."

The road towards the office was smooth. Yve went inside the office and was welcomed by Rose. She knew now that Rose was Maddie's executive secretary. Rose guided them to the president's elevator which directly heads to Maddie's office.

"Ms. Yvory, I hope you won't mind to wait for Madam in her office. There was an emergency video conference meeting that she needed to attend to." Rose said as the elevator opened and guided them towards Maddie's main office.

"I don't mind. But if it's really important, we can just cancel the meeting." Yve worriedly said.

"There's no need for that, Ms. Yvory. Madam insisted to proceed with your meeting and she said that she'll be finished in thirty minutes."

"Okay. I understand."

"What do you want to drink? Or eat perhaps?"

"Nothing. How about you, Jaleb?" Yve asked.

This kind gesture of Yve towards his bodyguard didn't escape Rose's eyes.

'She truly kind to all of his employees.' Rose thought.

"There's no need, Ms. Yvory. I've just eaten." Jaleb politely answered.

"Then if you'll excuse me." Rose said and left the room.

Yve was left sitting inside the room with Jaleb standing beside her. Yve's eyes wondered around the room and began to appreciate Maddie's taste. From how her room looks, she was able to understand about Maddie's attitude and preferences. Then something got her curious.

"Jaleb?"

"Yes, Miss?"

"You've been with Vince for quite sometime, right?"

"Yes."

"So you knew who Maddie was from the first time we met, right?"

Jaleb finally realized what will Yve's question be. So he interrupted her by explaining what really happened during the wardrobe malfunction incident.

"He's really my savior." Yve said to herself. But in her thoughts she knew that she needs to plan a reward for her King.

'Maybe I can ask his mother what to do.' Se thought.

She was busy planning the surprise and reward for Vince in her mind, Maddie came inside the office.

"I'm sorry I made you wait, Yve." Maddie said as she hug her tightly in her arms.

Yve was surprised by Maddie's gesture but she felt happy warm inside. She also hugged Maddie in return. Jaleb was also happy to see this development so he secretly took a picture and sent it to Vince. As Vince saw the picture, another smile formed on his face and motivated him to work harder than usual.

After a few moments, Yve can't breathe easily due to the tightness of Maddie's hug, so with all her remaining strength she said,

"Maddie, I can't breathe."

"Oops, I'm sorry about that." Maddie said when she realized how tight she has been hugging Yve.

"Let's go!" Maddie said and dragged Yve out of her office.

Yve offered her car and Maddie gladly accepted and handed a small sheet of paper to Jaleb. Jaleb accepted the paper and was astonished to see the contents of the paper.

'Madam is truly a gentle lady.' Jaleb thought.

First on the list was Stones Enterprises' exclusive shopping mall. This mall can only be accessed by rich people through a membership card. Maddie and Yve went out of the car and dragged her to one of Madam Gray's favorite salon and spa.

"Welcome, Madam Gray!"The receptionist said.

"Yes. By the way, I want the usual package for two. This is my daughter-in-law, by the way." Maddie introduced her to the staff.

The receptionist bowed to her and she did the same. They were guided to a private room for two and was given the instruction to remove their clothes and change into the clothes they gave. Yve knew then that they were in for a relaxing massage.

As the masseurs give them them the warm-up, Maddie looked at Yve's relaxed face and asked,

"Have you tried this before?"

Yve looked at her and answered, "Yes. But it was way back when my father was still alive."

"Why is that?"

"I was busy earning money that I forgot to pamper myself."

Maddie was lost for words. She can't believe that Mr. Smith's only princess experienced poverty while Amira and Airis have the riches allotted for her.

"Don't worry. From now on, just come with me and we can pamper ourselves together." Maddie said as she enjoyed the massage.

Yve is also enjoying the massage that she fell asleep. After an hour, a staff woke her up and gestured her to go to the salon area for a manicure and pedicure. She gladly obeyed and saw Maddie.

"You seemed to enjoy the massage, Yve." Maddie teased.

"Sorry, but is there a possibility that I snored while I was asleep?"

"Oh, no, dear. You were sleeping quietly but I have to wake you up to continue the rest of the package."

"I see. " Then Yve let the staff do her work when suddenly Maddie asked something.

"Yve, do you like watching movies?"

"Of course!" Yve instantly answered since it has been awhile.

"That was quick!" Maddie teased her and laughed.

"It's been awhile too. But I can't do it tonight, mom." Yve honestly said.

"I know. Vince warned me ahead. Let's do it next time, then. I'll schedule it with Sylvan." Maddie said.

"Okay. I'll be looking forward to it, then."

"Me, too." Maddie said and soon both of their finger nails and toe nails were beautifully polished.

After 3 hours of pampering, the mother and daughter in law tandem went out of the salon and is now heading home. Yve ordered Jaleb to drop Maddie first at her home. But Maddie insisted they drop her off to her office.

Inside the car, Yve suddenly asked something to Maddie.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course!" Maddie said.

"Can I hug you again?" Yve's question caught Maddie and Jaleb caught off-guard.

But Maddie just smiled and said, "Anytime."

Then Yve hugged Maddie with all her might as tears fell down from her eyes. This warmth and feeling of longing were felt by Maddie. She caressed Yve's back and said,

"Just give me call anytime you need a mother's warmth, okay?"

Yve nods her head in response without breaking free from Maddie for the rest of the ride. She didn't even realized they have arrived as she fell asleep. Maddie did her best to free herself without waking her up.

"Take care in driving home, Jaleb."

"Yes, Madam."

As the car drives away from the building, Maddie thought to herself,

'That young lady missed a lot of things.'
