15 Honesty

From the previous chapter:

I touched her cheek to make her feel relaxed and made her look into my eyes.

"Don't worry about it. What matter's most is that you and I are here."

"But.... it's not like we're back together."

"Well, it all depends on you." I made this half serious - half joke statement.

But I didn't expect what she did next.

VINCE's POV

She kissed me!! I mean, she is kissing me. I don't want to think of anything else, so I kissed her back and took control from her. She pulled me closer to her encouraging me to deepen the kiss. I am a gentleman and a good man but let me be honest, I can also be a BEAST when allowed to.

We were having our time. To be honest, I don't want this to happen and I really hope that she will confirm everything after this kiss. We were busy with our business when suddenly I heard the door opened and we were forced to stop.

It was Ed.

"Oops, I'm sorry. I can just go out. You guys can continue."

"NO! It's fine. I'll go since I'm already full." It was Yve.

She dashed outside the room. I looked fiercely at Edward.

"Bro, I'm sorry. I didn't know."

"But at least you could knock!!"

"I'm sorry. But you haven't updated me so I didn't expect that to happen." Ed sat on the couch.

"So, it's my fault now?!"

"Of course not, bro. So are you guys back together?" Ed asked with curiosity in his eyes.

"I think so....?" He looked at me intently.

"I am not sure. Her actions are very unpredictable but she hasn't confirmed anything so I don't really know."

"AND YOU AGREED?!"

"For now, yes. I can totally tell that she has been through hell. But I can't force her to tell me everything."

Ed nodded his head and handed me a brown envelope.

"What's this?" I asked as I open the envelope.

"The reason why I was in a hurry. It's the past events in Yve's life which you asked me to investigate."

"Thank, bro. You're always quick on this."

"No biggie. But before you start reading the details, you need to make sure that you are prepared."

"Why is that?"

"Yvory went through a lot of difficulty which for me she doesn't deserve." He decided to stand up and walk towards the door when he turned around and said,

"Just tell me if there's anything I can do, I will support your relationship because both of you deserves to be happy."

I looked at the envelope and decided to open it later after work. I will heed Edward's warning because there are also some pressing issues in the company. I clean the table and kept the food containers inside their respective bags.

I went to my desk and texted Yve.

"Where are you?"

I waited for a reply but got nothing. Well, I guess she is still driving. I'll work for now while waiting for her response.

YVE's POV

Why did I do that? Why did I kiss him?

I kept on asking myself as I ride the elevator towards the ground floor of the hotel.

"Yve, you can't fall for him again. You know that. You made that promise when your broke up with him. Who knows what will happen to him if you continue to give in to your heart. " My white conscience is telling me.

"Promise?! They even broke their promise to you. Don't you even trust your King? He is a CEO now not just a student before. And the greatest reason of all is that YOU STILL LOVE HIM, RIGHT?!" My evil conscience has a point.

I erased those thoughts for now, as I open the driver seat of my car. I was about to drive the car when my phone rang. It was a text message from Vince.

The drive towards my condominium was short and as I open the door, mess all over the place welcomed me. Because I was in a hurry to leave yesterday, I didn't have enough time to clean.

This time, I decided to clean all the mess since I still have a lot of time before my actual shift. You can say that I'm using the 'being busy' tactic to forget my problems temporarily.

At 5PM, I was done with cleaning the whole place and I even finished cooking my dinner. I felt productive today.

I decided to sat down in front of the television while holding my phone. Suddenly, it rang.

It was Vince.

OH MY!!! I forgot to reply to his text earlier. As I unlocked my phone, I saw so many missed calls from him and so many text messages. The messages were the same.

"Where are you?"

"Are you at home?"

"Are you busy?"

"Are you sleeping?"

"Please reply to at least one of my texts or answer my call. I am worried here."

His latest text was the longest of them all.

"Queen, I don't know what you are thinking right now. I am not sure if you are reading my texts and just decides to ignore my texts. Or if you are busy and haven't read a single one of them. But it's fine as long as I know that you are doing okay.

By the way, your King is on his way to rest in our castle. Please remember to drive safely on your way to work, okay?"

It may looked like he is giving up but I knew him, this message simply shows his sincerity. Sincerity in not rushing me to make my decision about our relationship. To ease him, I decided to send a reply message.

"I am very sorry, King. I was very busy with cleaning and doing household chores. I only saw all the notifications in my phone just now. Don't worry about your Queen, I promise to take good care of myself so you should take your time and have a good night sleep."

I smiled at my text message.

YES! I admit I am still in love with him.

In the past, I tried to solve things on my own but nothing good happened. It's not only me who's not happy but Vince as well. From now on, I made a firm decision.

I WILL TRUST MY KING and BE HONEST WITH MY FEELINGS.
