53 How would you know?

There was a scent of magic in it but not strong enough to make a case. Anyway, Diana always picks her target well, so well that no-one could nail her for using her powers. Most people wouldn't even question her. Twisted logic is what she is good at, not that I could care. Currently, it didn't bother me. Eventually, however, it had to be dealt with. The last trial she was involved, was three months. I really hate to have to explain everything to the council all over again.

Especially if it could be prevented.

Maybe I could find one of the more powerful ones and make a deal. Or I could just seal her again. But that would drain all of my current limited resources. Grandma was still around so it could get messy. I really needed to find an angle and push it.

"Why do this? Why harm them and harm yourself?" I snapped. "It isn't healthy. Look at them so pale and so weak. It's wrong to take so much. Look at them! They are drain dried. A little more and they'll be mummies!"

"Really," Diana said cocking an eyebrow.

"They have lives,"

"They were addicts." she retorted,

"So, let faith lead them." I snapped back at her,

"Could you do that? snapped Diana,"Get off that high horse, we have to do what we have to do for our mate."

Before I opened my mouth to answer that retort, I felt my spell active. We both felt it. Diana blink before rushing the girls away. Well, she never was truly evil just stupid.

My target must have been a bad, bad man. It happened a lot sooner than I expected, not that I was complaining. I like nothing more than to go home. I need a good meal and some sleep, not that I was going to get any. There was just so much to do and Ronnie can be a slave driver when she wants something.

"I got to go, now. Think about what I said. Do the right thing. Bye, see you Sunday." I said pushing out the door.

She defiantly wasn't expecting that from me. In my youth had always been the mild child, quiet and reclusive. The scow on her face made me know it wouldn't be the end of it but I didn't have time to fight her.

Rushing over, I wasn't expecting to hear a scream. Turning to the source, I saw my mark on the floor paling fast.
