Chapter 29 - 29

Salamander the Immortal is not a well-known name but those who are aware of his existence knows that he is an extremely powerful foe

It can be said that if this world is a game then Salamander is one of the 'mini bosses'

It was a boss monster that is stronger than most but also not that powerful compared to the real boss

In Rhash's dream, one of the people that pushes Reif into the path of a Villain is Salamander

Fortunately, compared to other mini-bosses, Salamander would never make a move against Reif as long as he is still immature and was just starting to 'bud'

Rhash wants Salamander to become Reif's stepping stone and a person he needs to take revenge with

"Salamander? Big Brother, who is that?" Reif asked curiously. Since this guy is a 'danger' then Reif needs to be stronger than him to protect his Big Brother

"He's the strongest existence living inside Mesha City and people like you are the ones he needs the most. In the future, we will deal with him when we have enough power"

Rhash also doesn't know Salamander that much since his dreams only consisted of Reif's suffering. However, although that Salamander is strong, there are still others that are stronger than him. Such a guy is perfect to become Reif's stepping stone

Reif doesn't really understand everything that Rhash said but he still hugs the latter

"Big Brother is really knowledgeable" Reif was feeling proud even though it was Rhash that knows a lot of things and not him

Well, it was to be expected. Everything that Rhash does would be amazing in Reif's eyes

Rhash can't help but giggle as he felt ticklish. Reif was snuggling him as if the kid doesn't want their bodies to be separated ever

Reif was accidentally rubbing the ticklish part of Rhash's body

However, that doesn't last long as Rhash realizes something

"Are you not going to ask me how I know these things?"

It was like everything that Rhash said was absorbs by Reif as if he was a sponge. He doesn't really question anything that Rhash said except if there is something that he wants to clarify or don't understand

This unconditional trust is a precious thing yet it also makes Rhash feel a bit of guilt

Reif has the right to know everything that Rhash knows especially how this world was forsaken him and forces him to become evil even if he doesn't want to

Rhash's knowledge is also a burden for him. He wants Reif to be aware of his future but he is also afraid of how it would affect the kid

Reif is still too young and even if he was already an adult, how could it be easy to accept that everything in this world seems to go against him?

The dreams Rhash had includes how heartbroken Reif was when he starts thinking of how the world seems to hate him

If possible, Rhash doesn't want Reif to feel the same anguish and despair

Thousands of thoughts were swirling inside Rhash's mind causing him to become absent-minded

Reif notices that and he placed both of his little hands between Rhash's face. "I'm curious but I know that Big Brother has reason whether you tell it to me or not"

Reif has a bright smile on his face as he places a hundred percent of his trust in the person with him

This heavy sense of responsibility for being fully trusted is something that Rhash will always take with him. He would make sure to protect Reif's trust in him

"Reif, will you believe me if I were to say that I know some of your future?" Rhash asked while rubbing his palm on Reif's hand that was still in his cheeks

A pair of blue and pitch-black eyes that were filled with countless emotions stared with each other

Reif's eyes narrowed a bit as he showed a bright smile. "Of course! I know Big Brother won't lie to me and I will always believe Big Brother!" Reif promises with both of his innocence and utmost seriousness

"I'm happy to hear that" Rhash replied before giving Reif a kiss on the forehead. "It may sound crazy but I know some of your future"

The gentle kiss caresses every inch of Reif's heart giving him endless warmth

"Big Brother, is my future a beautiful one?" Reif asked hopefully causing Rhash's body to stiffen

Reif was hopeful yet his future is far from being a beautiful one. Rhash doesn't want to lie but he also doesn't want to crush Reif's hope causing him to not know what to say

Fortunately, Reif has some sense. Seeing Rhash's reaction makes him realize that his future is not a beautiful one

With how he was treated ever since he remembered, a future of suffering doesn't sound that impossible. In fact, it very much sounds like his real future

"Then... will Big Brother change my future?" One hope of Reif was thoroughly crushed but he still has one last hope

He stared at Rhash with his misty eyes as if he was afraid of the next words that he would hear

Fortunately, Rhash answered immediately with agitation

"I will! I will definitely change your future! You will become the number 1 person in the world! You will look down at every other person from the pedestal. In the future, I will make sure that you will be the most powerful to the point that no one can hurt you!"

That is Rhash's dream, a grand dream that he will make sure to achieve. This world owes Reif too much. It was only just that in the future, he would be its ruler

"Hehehe, Big Brother's dream is really grand. Since that is what Big Brother wants, I will make sure to reach that point as long as Big Brother is with me. You will stay with me, right?"

As long as Reif has his most important person with him, he will do everything he can to achieve what Rhash wants him to achieve

If Rhash is not with him then what is the point of dreaming?

"I will! I will always stay with you" Rhash answered and Reif was happy to hear that

"Since Big Brother's dream is hard to achieve, I need to work even harder! Big Brother, stay here, I will go train again"

With a renewed resolution, Reif stood up from Rhash to train his magic again when Rhash stops him

"Wait! You lost too much blood, you also need to rest!" Rhash said guiltily. If he didn't satisfy his vain pride to kill that girl Milleth alone, he wouldn't be this injured

If he wasn't injured then Reif wouldn't make him drink a lot of his blood. Thus, Rhash doesn't want Reif to push himself too much even if their goal is an extremely hard one to reach

"I'm fine! Big Brother should just rest here. I left some of my blood if you need to drink!"

With that, Rhash wasn't able to stop Reif from training again. When he looks at his side, he saw a few small buckets of water made from wood

The tasty scent turns out to be coming in those buckets of blood. Each bucket was like a miniature glass

With how small Reif was, it surely took a toll on his body to fill them. Just thinking about it causes Rhash's heart to ache

He decided that the thing that happened with Milleth would be the last time he will let his pride get the best of him

In the future, Rhash would be more goal-oriented no matter the means to achieve it. If he were to satisfy his pride again who knows if it would harm Reif to an even greater extent?

While thinking of that, Rhash waved his hand and one of the buckets floated towards him. Despite feeling guilty, recovery is still the priority since he needs to help Reif

For faster recovery, he can only rely upon blood. Rhash drank the whole bucket and he can feel some of his strength returning to him even though it would still take some time for faster recovery

Even then, he can at least move to walk and he went to the direction where Reif was training which wasn't far from him

After all, Reif is worried that someone will attack Rhash and he can't go too far from him

Just outside the small cave, Rhash watch as Reif was moving from one tree to another with the help of his gravity manipulation

Not every battlefield would have trees in them for Reif to move nimbly like that but it was a good training

If his movements were quick and he becomes even nimbler, Reif's fighting power would increase

Aside from gravity control, Reif was also sending one magic after another

In a fight, moving alone is not enough. One must also know how to attack effectively
