Chapter 354 - Get Ready!

A strange thing happened after the men threw Veronica into the inferno.

Her chair was suspended in the air and the blazing inferno suddenly died, as in completely exterminated... strangely the blazing pit was now covered with water, rapidly filling the hole to the brim.

Everyone was stunned, they stared at the mind-blowing spectacle with astonishment flashing in their eyes.

Veronica and the chair vanished from their sight.

"Madam, the woman disappeared!" the men shouted in unison.

"I saw it! You don't have to tell me about it!" Sylvia snapped at her men. She was also surprised upon witnessing the spectacle with her eyes.. She didn't expect that such a thing could still happen because she had already suppressed that woman's power.

Nathan went to his mother's side. "Mother, what the hell happened?" he asked.

Sylvia shrugged. "I don't know, son!" she replied indignantly.

"Madam, should we make the fire again?" one of the men asked.

Sylvia glared at the guy angrily. "How can you make fire now when the pit was already filled with water?"

"I'm sorry for my stupidity, Madam," the guy apologized. "What are we going to do with the other prisoners?" he asked.

Sylvia snapped at her men. "Bring them back to the basement!"

"Aye, Madam," the men replied and carried the prisoners back to the basement.

Sylvia and Nathan are the only ones left in the area, staring at the pit that was now filled with water.

Nathan went closer to the pit and stared at the black water. "Were does this water come from?" he asked in bewilderment.

Sylvia scanned the water-filled hole. "When the men starts digging the pit, obviously there is no water here because the hole is shallow, about four meters deep from top to bottom."

Nathan looked at his mother. "Which means... the woman who vanished a while ago is powerful. She's able to put the fire out and command the water from the deep of the ground," he stated.

"Agree..." Sylvia said.

"Mother, what if that woman come back her to save her companions? What are we going to do? Can we prevent her from coming here to extract revenge?" Nathan inquired.

"That depends if she is that powerful enough. I covered this whole place with a complex spell. They can enter here, take their exit, but they can never return, with a few exceptions of course," Sylvia replied confidently.

"Are you sure, Mother?" Nathan asked.

"Yeah. Anyways, I'm going back to my room. I need to do something..." Sylvia said and walked away.

Nathan watched his mother walked away from the area.

He remained rooted on the spot, watching the water-filled pit, trying to understand what just transpired earlier.

Back in the basement.

Horace and Terros looked at each other.

"Grandpa, what do you think happened to Veronica? Why the blazing inferno was doused with water and why she suddenly vanished in the air? Do you think her power was suddenly restored?" Horace bombarded Grandpa with questions.

Terros stared at the ceiling. "It's a hard thing to say... but I think what we witness earlier is not Veronica's power at all. She fainted, remember?"

"Yeah, but I saw the third eye suddenly appeared in her forehead. I've never seen that eye before," Horace said.

"I tell you a story, son. Veronica was a blind girl and the deity Elva took pity on her and planted a third eye on her forehead so that she can see. She always wore a veil covering her face to hide her third eye. Then eventually, the deity transplanted a pair of brand new eyes into her empty eye sockets and she looks normal again. Earlier, the third eye reappeared on Veronica's forehead again... I'm 100% sure that the spectacle that we have witness earlier was the deity in action," Terros explained.

Horace was feeling optimistic. "I see... I'm glad that Veronica was already save! She doesn't deserve to die here. Maybe, the deity will save us next!" he said, feeling hopeful.

"I'm also hoping for the same thing, son," Terros said.

Horace smiled brightly, finally seeing an end to their captivity. "There's still hope in the horizon for us! I can't wait to get out of this prison room, and bring Lord Graven back to Laura safely!"

"Me too, lad!' Terros said happily. "To think that the fire died completely and the pit submerged in water blows my mind away! Huge relief washed over me after seeing the blazing inferno flooded with water! You have no idea how relieved I am!" he said, misty-eyed.

After some time...

The smile faded from their faces and worries starts sinking again.

The problem is... what if the Madam will plan another twisted and cruel game again to mentally torture them?

They're not out of the hook yet!

And with those scary thoughts running in their minds, the happy atmosphere inside the room plummeted to the ground.

And they're back to worrying about their safety once again.

...

Windless Mountain.

Elva was looking at Veronica's face for a long time.

The poor girl has fainted after she rescued her from the blazing inferno. Veronica was currently lying in her room after she untied her hands and feet from the chair that she was bound with.

When she managed to enter Veronica's consciousness and activated her third eye, she was shocked to see the flames, and when the men hurled Veronica along with the chair into the fire. She wielded her power... she managed to subdue the fire immediately and flooded it with water.

Before Veronica vanished from the place, she saw Horace and Terros tied on the chair just like Veronica. She knew right away that the trio are meant to be roasted in the fire by whoever captured them. Too bad, she wasn't able to see the leader of the enemies clearly, because her main goal was to save Veronica and the others.

Unfortunately, she only managed to save Veronica at the last minute!

But considering that the fire was already put out, she was confident that Horace and Terros won't suffer from being burnt alive in the pit.

Now... she needs to save the two men quickly before the enemy will do something bad to them, and it will be too late for her to save them.

Elva stood up and left Veronica's room to get some water.

A moment later, she returned to Veronica's room, carrying a pitcher of drinking water and one glass, she put them on the side table.

Ten minutes later.

Veronica's eyelids fluttered, then her eyes opened wide.

Elva smiled. "Welcome back to Windless Mountain, Veronica!" she said.

Veronica looked at the deity's face in disbelief at first, thinking she had already died and gone to heaven, by why the deity looks so real?

"You're not dead, yet! I managed to save you before you will be roasted alived in the blazing inferno," Elva replied.

Veronica sit upright and looked around her. She's back in her room at the Windless Mountain! Awesome!

"I'm still alive!" Veronica exclaimed in happiness and hugged the deity. "Thank you for saving my life, over and over again!" she said gratefully.

"Don't mention it!" Elva smiled and handed her the glass of water.

Veronica drinks the water in one go. "Thank you... where is Horace and Grandpa Terros?" she asked, eager to see them.

Elva sighed. "Due to time constraint I have to save you first. As for Horace and Terros, I still need to devise a plan on how to get them out of that place," she replied.

"Aside from Horace and Grandpa, Graven was also there!" Veronica said.

"Whaaaat-?" Elva's eyes widened in shock. "How come? Why I haven't seen him there?" she asked.

"Because Graven was lying unconscious in one of the rooms located inside the basement of that manor," Veronica explained.

"Ah, I see... that's why I didn't see him. It's a good thing that the three of them are on the same place, we can formulate a plan to save them together!" Elva said excitedly.

"But how?" Veronica asked.

"You have to go back to that place once more and save them!" Elva said.

"B-but I don't know that place... Horace and I arrive there in our unconscious state. We have no idea what part of the town that place belongs to. Lemme retrieve the coordinates of the place in my memory, maybe I can have a clear visual of that place and teleport there..." Veronica said.

"Just try harder, dear. Right now, your Grandpa Terros, Horace and Graven are there waiting for you to save them. If we can't save them on time, the enemy who abducted you, might unleash their anger on the prisoners that was left behind," Elva explained.

Veronica nodded her head and said, "Okay. I'll try my best."

"Good! I'll left you alone to recall that place in your memory, if you can't do it then I have to do it for you," Elva said and left the room.

Veronica began scanning her memory for any details that can help her on how to go back there in the basement. Under normal circumstances, as long she's been in that place already, her memory would have no trouble bringing her back there using the teleportation process, unless, that Madam tampered with her memory first.

She closed her eyes, putting herself in deep concentration.

Outside.

Elva went back to her room to began her planning. It must be done quickly before the enemy can think of something!

She entered her room and stayed inside for fifteen minutes. Then left the room and went back to Veronica's room. "Did you remember even a tiny detail of that place?" she asked.

"Yup!" Veronica nodded her head.

"Great! Now I will tell you about my plan. Listen carefully... " Elva said.

"Okay. Bring it on!" Veronica responded eagerly.

"Here is the plan... let's do it this way..." Elva said and began explaining her grand plan to Veronica.

After a few minutes of explaining, Elva looked at Veronica. "Can you do it?"

Veronica nodded her head. "Of course, I can do it!"

"Good!" Elva said. "Get ready... I'll come back here after a few minutes of preparations," she said and quickly left the room.
